0/5 stars. Absolutely disgusting. AL is infested with bedbugs and roaches, I mean crawling along the walls, dropping off doorways as you walk through. Skilled is cleaner, but they are connected so it won’t be long before bed bugs start crawling out of peoples trachs. Management on Skilled act like they are royalty, terrible attitudes, lack of accountability, horrible communication. Neither side of the building give a darn about their residents, it’s all a popularity contest for in-house staff and a money grab from corporate. I can’t wait until this creepy crawly building gets an IJ or even better shut down. The unhoused community downtown lives better than these poor AL residents. YALL OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED.

So my mother in law is there assistant living and they take all her money that she receives every month and only gives her 30 dollars to get her things herself. This is sad. And they tell her that she is not allowed to see a doctor of her choice. They took some things out of her room and will not allow her to have family get them. And when I went to see her they were putting people's stuff in the hallway in bags due to a bedbug infestation. And these things stayed there for weeks. And mom has told me things that I think are a form of abuse. It's very sad and how can she afford to get her own place if they are controlling all of her income. She can't even afford a landline phone cuz they don't pay for it and this place is dirty and they are taking advantage of all the people staying there. I'm going to get the authorities involved and this is not acceptable it's sad and to hear mom tell me what is going on there.

Everything fine, but May 7, 2025 at 10:15pm, I ask RT, can he suction my Mother rm 214, she gargle mucous, he said his next round is at 11:45pm, I ask the Nurse can she suction her, after that her vitals improved, her breathing improved and she was relaxed to go to sleep, gave 5 stars to the Nurse, for doing what I ask RT, if can go beyond the call of duty, he just sat there...

It was a very great experience to come here. The place was very neat, clean and no bad smells. Patients very neat, clean, hair comb, and seems to be very content. Staff very helpful in assisting us to the right patient . I like the fact that the check-in machine was very clean and in working condition. Nice facility however they never answer the phone, especially Friday Saturday or Sunday. Was given wrong code for elevator in bldg c by receptionist in center bldg so was stuck in elevator until an employee pushed button on alternate floor.

The residents are friendly and sociable. Feels like a family. My loved one enjoys the resident community. But the facility is under staffed and it shows in the level of care that they currently provide. Feces were left on my loved one's sheets for three days, and she couldn't shower because there was mold everywhere in the shower and the sink was also clogged. It seems that the promise of renovations still hasn't been fulfilled, and the dim lighting causes the place to look and feel gloomy.

I sure do appreciate these folks (all) who work to help and make our stay successful. All of them in EVERY capacity. I have but one complaint and I've already voiced that. The food is horrible and cleaning of rooms could be better. Otherwise, I feel safe and helped. I even like the location and the mansion. So unique. But most of all, my care was and is very sufficient.

This place used to get very high ratings from me. But lately I am considering using another facility. Not all of the staff is lazy but there are some who have no business being in this place. The only way to get things resolved is to complain to the management and there times when they are not paying attention to the complaints. Perhaps they getting fed up too. Today we were blessed with a wonderful family visit with my mom at Scarlet Oaks. My sister and I arrived around 2:00 pm to get Mom's room ready for her surprise visit with her two sons who were arriving from Lexington and Florida! Larissa greeted us at the door and helped us organize a place for a Larosa's pizza party. Joanne and Gerry also got into the discussion and it felt oh so comfortable. We visited with Mom in her room and then walked to the dining room in the mansion. Since we had not toured the facility because Mom was admitted during COVID, we were stunned by the beauty of the exquisite woodworking and beautiful fireplaces. The large table allowed us to sit safely together and enjoy a visit we all needed. We even watched giant snowflakes fly outside the windows. Everyone parted with a happy heart.

Scarlet oaks is a beautiful campus to bring your loved one. Staff is very caring , helpful and work together to take care of your loved one. Every single staff member from the nursing to food services and housekeeping work to make sure there is everything for your loved one! The newly remodeled therapy gym is top notch I would recommend bringing you loved one!

Scarlet Oaks has been absolutely amazing to my father and our family! He was neglected and abused at a different nursing home in Cincinnati and when we made the decision to switch Scarlet Oak’s was at the top of my list. Kelly Jackson made the transition so easy for my father. He’s been a great support for our family thoughout this whole process. We’ve even be allowed a few visits already (with Covid restrictions) and my father seems to be improving everyday. It’s amazing how well he has improved with the correct care. I would recommend Scarlet Oak’s to anyone looking for quality care for their elderly family members.

They are not equipped to really care for people they...There are serveral individuals there who are great in the nursing staff and pca area...just not enough of them...they are surrounded by more stuff that don't care...The Executive make promises that are constantly broken...will not ever want to use these services again...shout out to the nurses I'm amtalking about...you know who you are...

Scarlet Oaks is top notch! The staff consistently give 110% each day. The residents are well cared for and loved as family. There are a variety of daily activities available to appeal to all interests. The facility is kept clean and smelling fresh. The meals are well balanced, and served in a spaciously beautiful dining room. If considering placement for a loved one, you would benefit from taking a tour of this outstanding facility.

I would not recommend Scarlet Oaks to anyone. The staff was uncaring, rude, and just plain nasty. I spent my first day there with no phone, food, or TV......I couldn't walk well, so stood in the door, waving my hands for attention. The nurse finally came, but informed me that if I tried to leave the facility, without doctors orders, then my insurance would not pay the bill. Days later, I found this to be untrue, and after one week, I left Scarlet Oaks on my own. Why even the Two Stars here? Because the physical therapy that I came for was alright, although the therapists did not seem to be in contact with each other, as to treatment plans. I only had "therapy" 5 times total.. The staff didn't answer the call button. Even a request for ice chips seemed to be too much for them.They would not even look at me as I waited at the front desk. After awhile, I just stopped asking for anything. The whole situation made my "recovery" even slower, and more difficult. Is it so hard to just be a little nice? Is that so hard? My stay there was very depressing.
