It's a tough and expensive journey to find senior living for a loved one. In looking for a place for my mom, we evaluated three closest to my home in Danville. We chose Ivy Park for several reasons. The property was very nice, the staff seemed great and they could handle a short move down the hall to memory care if my mom eventually needs it. My mom has been a resident since May. Her room was newly remodeled and has nice views of San Ramon Hills. It's a big place so consider proximity to elevators and common areas if mobility is an issue. On the food, the regular 7-7 menu includes basic breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, etc. Their daily lunch and dinner specials have surprising variety and creativity. Overall, I'd give the food a B+ (fries get an A+!!). They have activities planned every day from 9 to about 6 and those too reflect creativity and variety. Most importantly, they seem to really understand that hiring the right personalities matters. Every caretaker, maintenance person, front desk staff, med techs, etc have proven to be kind, loving and professional. I visit 4-5 times a week and watch the staff directly interact with my mom even though they don't know I'm even there at some points. I would love to see them add technology so work flow is tracked. There are times that I make a request and I never know if it happened until I go back. Would be so much more comforting if I could go to a portal and see when meds were given, shower given, toilet seat fixed, etc. My sister lives in Sacramento and this issue is even more challenging for remote family. From my research, this is an issue in most assisted living places but I still root for Ivy to be an industry leader. Overall, I'm very happy with our choice. They are worth a tour. Good luck to those starting the journey. I know it's not easy.

This place has made a terrible, sad situation a little less stressful and scary. Their staff has jumped through hoop after hoop to help us make this move happen. They've offered so much compassion and support throughout this whole process and never made us feel bad for all the extra help we needed in the application process. They supported us before we even decided that we were going with Ivy Park and gave us lots of good questions to ask other places as we toured. Not something we thought to ask until they told us, but not many places like this keep your family until end of life. But Ivy Park does. Knowing that we're moving our family into a place that keeps her until her last day and knowing she won't have to move again which is scary and stressful is very comforting to know. She loves the people here and the staff are always so friendly and supportive.

We've been very pleased with Ivy Park from our initial tour until now. My wife has issues which led to her residency here and she obviously wishes she was home, but she has nothing but praise for all the staff. She loves the food. Our 45th anniversary fell six days after she moved in. Melissa, Lacey, Cindy, Lisa and the restaurant staff put on a special occasion for us and our family. Much appreciated. My wife is getting much better care at Ivy Park than I can give her at home, which is a relief to me.

My experience with Oakmont/Ivy Park-San Ramon was at the Walk to End Alzheimer's in San Ramon this past Saturday. Cindy was an absolute angel and lifesaver to me, my mom who has Alzheimer's disease, and my sisters and friends who participated in the Walk. When we realized my mom's wheelchair was missing the foot pedals, I approached the Oakmont table, hopeful they could help me. I knew they were an Assisted Living and Memory Care chain of facilities so I thought they may be able to get access to a wheelchair quickly. I knew it was a long shot but I was desperate. I knew the walking route would be impossible without the feet pedals for my mom's wheelchair. When I conveyed the situation to Cindy, she immediately got on the phone. In a matter of minutes she was able to get a driver to pick up a wheelchair from their facility and bring it to The Walk to End Alzheimer's. She came to our rescue and completely diffused the stressful situation. We didn't know her but that didn't stop her from springing into action and helping us. I was so thankful and hugged her, absolutely blown away by this act of kindness by both Cindy, the driver and anyone else who surely helped to make it happen. If Cindy did this for a complete stranger, I have zero doubt in my mind that she and the staff at Ivy Park-San Ramon demonstrate acts of kindness and care like this every day. If you are looking for a care facility for your loved one, I would absolutely add Ivy Park-San Ramon to your list of facilities to visit and interview.

I was faced with the difficult decision to find an assisted living apartment for my loved one when she was forced to leave her own home due to injury. I toured three locations and Ivy Park at San Ramon felt like the location that would be the best fit for my loved one. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They felt like they were people focused which was important to me and my loved one. Even when unexpected things happened, I always felt like they were on my side and helping me in a difficult time. Since my loved one has moved in, she is quite happy with her apartment and the amenities at the facility. She isn't thrilled about the food and wishes that the care was a little more prompt but it is always an adjustment in these situations. Overall, since she has a small kitchen and can make some of her own food, she has found a happy balance.

Looking for a cruise ship on land with shore excursions? You'll find it at Ivy Park @ San Ramon. Mom, recently moved into assisted living at Ivy Park in San Ramon. She's safe, happy, and well cared for. When looking for a community for our mother, we really wanted a place that offered numerous activities throughout the day. Ivy Park definitely meets our expectations. Special thanks to Cindy Brandt and staff for going the extra mile to help mom and our family with the transition.

This is one of the nicest places in the area. Yes its expensive, but so are the others and you get so much more here. If your mom(or dad, etc) is used to living in mansions or nice homes, they will feel comfortable here. Moms been there for a year, and she loves it. Made so many new friends shes rarely in her room. Most of the residents she introduced me to are retired academics, engineers, CEOs and other professionals. They have multiple public rooms for meetings, converstions, watching TV, making Art & Crafts, Mom is an oil painter, so she loves that. Theres a lot of quiet places to sit & read. Theres a beautiful open air garden in the middle of the building. The food is good quality and prepared well, shes had no complaints. The only thing missing on-grounds are walkways for exercise, but its easy enough to get out and walk around the neighborhood, which is quiet and safe. All in all, a great place to stay or visit. Recommended.
