We moved my mother-in-law into Ashford at Sturbridge in Jan of 2022 and we’ve been through lots of changes over her 3 years there. But, I want to share that the new director, Tammy, is absolutely wonderful! My husband and I met with Tammy and Anita (director of care) and they are both making so many wonderful changes to make the residents (& residents loved ones!) happy. It warms our hearts to see my MIL as happy as she has been recently!

The Ashford at Sturbridge has a new director and chef. My mom has told me the meals are so much better. My mom said the food used to be cold when it got to the table, now it’s warm. There are also more choices for the meals. I have seen other improvements since Tammy, the new director, took charge. She has been very responsive to any concerns.

The food is terrible ”. Most of the nurses and aides seem to be caring. Sometimes they get your medications wrong, and it takes awhile for it to be straightened out. Overall I would say that the rooms are nice. There are plenty of activities, and you can probably find some that interest you. The staff are always pleasant and they even remember your name after a little while.

I recently visited my grandma who has been at the Ashford for over a year now. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing and our family has wondered if we made the right choice several times. I hadn’t been able to visit for a couple of months. However I was blown away at my most recent visit. Not only is the building looking gorgeous, but my grandma has been raving about the food and the new Executive Director Tammy. My grandma seems so much happier. This has helped put any question of whether we made the right choice to bed. We know she is home. I would give more than 5 stars if I could for the smile my grandma has again!

My mother is 87 has lived at the Ashford of Sturbridge for 3 years now. She’s made many friends with both residents and staff. The facility is lovely and newer than most and my mother loves her 1 bedroom apartment that is filled with the things she loves. I am giving 5 stars for this past year, as the team including Tammy, Ashley, Kareen, Sara and Christy have been an integral and positive part of my mothers care this season. This team has made such a positive impact for the residents of Sturbridge and I personally thank them. Together they have improved the quality of living and care for their residents to a meaningful extent which means everything to me as I live farther away than I would like from my mother, but this is her HOME now! Recently they have made changes to the kitchen to include restaurant style ordering and Sara the kitchen director has begun helping me with a dietary program for my mom due to a condition that requires a certain type of diet. Kareen has also been an integral partner regarding my mothers health, and communicates with me to determine the best course of action when my mom isn’t feeling her best. Unfortunately mom recently had a stay in the hospital and went to rehabilitation following that. Kareen took immediate action to call the squad and communicated with me throughout the course of her stay. I am very thankful to her and her nurses! The only concern I have at this time is the phone system. Thank you to the staff at The Ashford of Sturbridge, and to Wallick Communities for getting the right people in place to care for my mom and her friends!

I took a tour with Kristy the sales director. She is so kind and knowledgeable about the facility. Gave me great tips on how to have the conversation with my mother. Even though my mother refuses to move at this point because she doesn’t want to leave her home (of 40 years). This would be the place. I also met some of the amazing staff including the new executive director Tammy. She gave me her card and said I could call any time with questions. The care is the most important thing to my family and I for mom with these attitudes and nice staff it’s the place to be. If your mom ( or dad ) is actually ready and not refusing like mine, please check them out!

My mom was admitted after a hospital stay. In 93 years she had always lived at home. We were worried about her not having her usual 24/7 family care. The staff are kind, warm, respectful and friendly. The aides are amazing with her and it was like she had a bunch of grandkids taking care of her. She had loving staff and hospice by her side throughout her last days. I highly recommend The Ashford.

this place has horrible food nothing tastes right and is laden with salt although they claim they don't add salt. the meat is unedible. if i didn't get doordash every night i would starve .for all the money it costs to live here you would think we could get decent food. mosly premade frozen crap.

My mother moved into the Ashford recently and we LOVE it! Not only is it a beautiful place but it's the perfect size, not overwhelmingly large yet big enough where you have a strong community with everything you need. You're always greeted warmly when you enter and we found that there were no hidden surprises - what was shown on the tour lived up to everything stated. We also discovered that even in Independent Living, everyone really looks out for one another, not just the residents but the staff. Any emergency is handled swiftly. We found especially helpful how thorough they were in giving residents a full manual for resources, outlining your every question. It's truly a wonderful place!

The Ashford at Sturbridge is awesome. The staff are all dedicated, friendly and caring. I have personally witnessed several caring moments between staff and residents when no one knew I was watching. This is the cleanest place I have seen. The walls are decorated with paintings and pictures. I am so happy we found this place for my dad.

No complaints from my father yet. Food sucks with no other options to select from, but not horrid. I think they eat too early. (4:30pm) for dinner. room is nice. Very spacious for the least expensive room. Holds a queen size bed without taking up space. They supply cable however a landline is the tenant's responsibility. Staff seem nice. I'm giving the place 4/5 because of the food.
