My husband and I have been extremely pleased with the experience my father-in-law has had at the Finnish American Rest Home. He was welcomed very warmly by Katie and Katja, and the staff in both the ALF and the Skilled Nursing sections have been very warm, caring, kind, and compassionate. He is very comfortable and happy, and we feel great that he is in good care . Maija, Nina, Cindy, and Crib, too, have been wonderful. Jamie has been great as have all the caregivers. We highly recommend Finnish! 🙂

I've seen several versions of assisted living and skilled nursing facilities over the last 35 years. Some stick you in a corner and let you waste away. Some try to make things better but are overworked and under concerned. And then there is one that looks and feels like home, has exceptional service and incredible attitudes across the board and that one is Finnish-American Village. I am blown away by the quality of care and attentiveness of staff and the absolutely stellar activities program and the menu of home cooked meals! The hallways are lined with beautiful artwork. I am truly blown away by the quality of Finnish-American Village!

Our dear friend spent the last two years of her life living here. She was so well taken care of. Like others have said, the attendants and nurses would come to her room to check on her, to remind her of the meals, and to just bring happy greetings. She loved the room, the meals (which were always great), and the special treats in the afternoons. It was a wonderful home-away from home for her. The employees here are excellent and very caring. We are so thankful for this assisted living facility and definitely recommend to anyone seeking a place with helpful and kind people.

My mom was at Finnish American Village (FAV) for 5 months and she loved it there. The best way I can describe FAV is people who work there have heart. I saw the care they took with residents. I paid attention when my mom first moved in because I wanted to be sure she was treated well. My mom was happier at FAV than she was in her apartment before moving there. At FAV aids and nurses stopped in her room when they were walking by just to say hi. Whenever I needed to call someone there I was able to reach them. Thank you for making my mom feel loved and at home.

This is a wonderful community of caring people and friendly residents. My parents volunteered here for many years and eventually moved in, themselves. This has been a wonderful place to visit our parents. Worth checking out. Has Finnish culture roots and many staff are bi-lingual, important to those Finns who want a place to stay connected.

my mom has been in this nursing home for two years now going on three and she has had the best care they take care of her like she was their own mother she gets what she needs the staff from the kitchen staff to the cleaning staff to the nurses the CNAs everybody takes great care of her she feels like shes at home she gets better care here than any place that shes ever been I love these people they take great care of my mom. the nursing staff is very Hands-On and make sure everything is with the way it should be she goes to the dining room to eat three times a day she goes to bingo she goes to crafts and she goes out on excursions when they have them you wont find a better place than Finnish American village nowhere! 5 out 5 stars hereThe skilled care section is outstanding also they are very pleasant speaking to the patients and as on the assisted living side the staff cant be beat they are very caring and take great care of the patients I want to come here when I cant live on my own anymore

My dad went to the Finnish American Village for rehabilitation.I am not sure I can explain to you how great everyone is there.Is the building old, yepCould it use an update, yep.Are the people kind and caring, 1000%.Is it clean, yep.If you have a issue, it is addressed and resolved immediately.From kitchen to housekeeping,to nurse aids to nurses tophysical therapy, everyone is super.You cant find better.

If you have a loved one, who is in need of assisted living, you will not do better than Finnish-American. These are the most caring and compassionate people. The facility is old, but immaculate. This is a perfect example of not judging a book by its cover.

My mother is a resident of the Finnish American village. As a geriatric nurse practitioner, I am a consultant for many long term care facilities. This is one of the best nursing homes I have visited. The management and staff are a caring and understanding group of professionals who go out of their way to treat the residents with respect and kindness. They are always encouraging my mom to get out of bed, eat in the dining room and participate in group activities. I would like to thank the staff for all they do for my mom. It is reassuring to know my mom is in good hands.

My (99yr old) Aunt has been a resident of the assisted living , rest home for over 3 yrs She has received the absolute BEST care you could EVER EVER ask for Yes it maybe a little DATED in decor HOWEVER it is VERY CLEAN the food is EXCELLENT and the STAFF BEYOND INCREDIBLE

My mom has been living in the assisted living section of the Village at High Ridge since August, 2015. (Also known as the Finnish-American Rest Home). We couldnt be more pleased. The facility at first glance looks like it is a little in need of refurbishment, but it is spotlessly clean, and run by the kindest people I assume since it is run by what I think is a Non-Profit, they dont spend money on window dressing. You cant judge a facility on looks alone. My Dad, before his death was in a fancy place that treated the patients horribly.The food is wonderful. I eat with her whenever I can, and the meals at $5 for visitors are very good. My Mom has severe dietary restrictions, and from day one they have been so careful, never giving her the foods she cant eat.We are not Finnish, so I was concerned she would be an outsider...not the case at all. About half of the residents are not Finns, and everyone there is very nice and include her.The activities director, Heidi is delightful, as are the nurses and administrator, who couldnt be more compassionate and professional. I only wish I had been aware of this facility when my Dadwas in need of one.Unlike many facilities who have workers who dont seem happy in their work, these Finnish ladies who are aides and nurses seem to love what they do.
