Since the day I walked into this place I have felt comfortable. The people are nice. I feel as if the staff and residents have accepted me as myself, feel very comfortable with the administrator she's so nice too everyone. The facility as a whole is a good place to be. It feels like home and it's one big family.

My dad lived at Joy from March 2024 to May 2025 when he passed. He absolutely loved being at Joy, loved the ribbing he got from Carmen and Don all the time. They treated him with the utmost kindness and respect, but he loved the attention they gave him and the kidding around. Kathy was amazing to our family and was so accommodating when we were having to come in from another state and move his things out. And Amandawhat can I say”she is an angel. She tried so hard to help my dad the day he passed. I will never forget her for that © My dad always said it felt like home from the day he moved in. For those who say their loved ones’ rooms are not getting cleaned”I will say I did have to ask them to come in myself and I also had to have a talk with my dad, because I found out they were coming by and he was telling them he did not need their help As for bed bugs, we had absolutely no problems, I never saw a single one.

I am a resident of Joy Asisted Living. I have lived here for 3 1/2 years. It is like living with a large family. The owner has been supportive of me the whole time I’ve lived here. She has helped me through some difficult times. The staff are very caring they go the extra mile. They are team workers keeping things running smoothly. My room is wonderful and comfortable. It is definitely my home. I lived in another assisted living, which was corporate owned. I felt like a number rather than an individual. Here at Joy Asisted Living I feel like I’m a valued person. I am able to make my own decisions. I am involved in activities as much as I want to be involved. The staff and I say I love you to each other. It makes my heart very happy.I give them a five star rating.

I have had the pleasure of visiting JOY AL many times to provide therapy services to the residents. It is refreshing to see the care and knowledge of each resident and their unique needs by Don and Carmen. Having been in many assisted living facilities over the years, I can tell you this is not the norm. Cathy maintaining the family tradition and ownership allows residents to continue receiving individualized care rather than a corporate approach to senior care. Having moved out of state, I miss my time spent with the residents and staff of JOY!

Joy Assisted Living is a WONDERFUL place! I have had the privilege of going there for a number of years. The residents are happy because the staff knows each resident very well. Don & Carmen go above & beyond for their residents' needs. The owner, Kathy, carries on the incredibly caring legacy of her parents who started Joy AL. The care they provide is personalized & sincere. I would proudly put any of my family members there.

My brother lived at Joy Assisted Living for approximately three years. He was very pleased with his room and the amenities. The staff treated him with great care and concern. They always took the time to talk with me regarding any concerns I might have regarding his health and well being. The interior of the building was renovated and it was very cheerful and uplifting. There were nicely decorated areas for the residents to meet and interact with one another. I could not have asked for a better experience for my brother.

I have been acquainted with Joy Assisted Living for many years. Although I no longer have a loved in the building, I can attest to the quality of care they received while there. Don and Carmen are the best, and anytime there were concerns, they were addressed with not only professionalism, but compassion! Amanda is the best and makes sure meds are given as the doctor ordered. It was such a comfort to know that my loved one was not at the mercy of a big corporation, but was more than just a number to Kathy and her great staff. Thank you for loving and caring for not just my loved one, but all the the residents!

Please note, I do not currently have a loved one in this residence but have been looking for my aunt that will need an assisted living facility soon (I have no prior experience with this process and am clueless). I have called many places in Springfield and the surrounding area and Don at Joy Assisted Living is the first person I have spoken with that has really taken the time to explain the financial process at their facility. He seemed to genuinely care and didn't rush the conversation. For that reason, I am giving Joy 5 stars.

I love Joy Assisted Living ( residents and staff) . It’s not like an assisted living it’s a family!! The staff are warm, inviting, the love and support shines though all of them. The residents are happy and they are active in their care and the day to day activities. I would definitely recommend Joy to my friends and family.

My mother and father spent some very enjoyable years in Joy Assisted as they neared the end. The many times we visited them while they lived there were very happy days for them. We were and are so glad they had this caring group of workers to care for them. THEY ARE A GREAT FACILITY!

JOY ASSISTED LIVING THE STRAIGHT SCOOP ON THIS PLACE !!! I am 73 years old and I want to make some comments or review on Joy Asst Living in Springfield Mo. . I have had a stroke and 3 heart attacks, plus I am prone to falling. i have a need for an assisted living facility that will assist me in my daily activities. I have lived in 5 different assisted living facilities. What I found with most of them was I was just something they had to deal with. It seemed when I asked for help it was given grudgingly, I was just part of the job they had to do. I am a combat wounded veteran and fiercely independent, I want to take care of myself as much as possible. I dont call out for help only on the rarest of occasions. This makes me feel like when I do ask, they would be willing to give me a little help. My family and I searched for a place where I would be treated with the care and respect I needed. I had all I wanted of assisted living places that thought you were interrupting their day to get assistance. On a tip from one of the employees at one of these facilities, I found Joy Assisted Living. The difference was profound at Joy the employees actually care about my needs. I get my meds consistently on time, They track my Dr. appointments and then take me there and pick me up. I dont have time to get bored, everyday there are activities they have; that gets the residents together, and in time it begins to feel like your family. Joy also has usually once a month a group outing, sometimes its to Branson for a show, or a trip to the casino to take advantage of the buffet they have, its always something.fun. After being here a year I feel like this is my family, because I have limited ability to move some parts of my body, they assist me with my showers and some other needs. To be honest living here is really worry free for me, I have freedom to come and go as I please and when I am there the staff all know my name, what my needs are, and every day I get smiles instead of feeling like I am bothering them. The food? Ha the food is good, too much so I have gained 15 pounds this year eating their meals. They pay attention to your diet and they have suggested increased activity to keep my weight down. if you are looking for a superclean place to place a loved one, I highly recommend Joy Asst Living. I am an old grouch, that thinks nothing is good enough for me, well till I got here. I love it here, my guardian was worried that it would be like so many of the others and I would be unhappy, well now she is happy and I am content to be living here. I wish my real family was as loving and glad to see me as they are here.. if you have any questions give me a call here. I'll tell you straight up you can pay more but you wont get more.
