The rooms at Charter are grand, very comfortable and updated. From the crackling fireplace in the comfortable lounging area to the birds chirping in the small courtyard Charter truly is a home to be proud of. My father has been there for almost two years and loves it. He enjoys the cozy atmosphere of the dining area with many options to choose from for each meal. Oh and the fried chicken on Wednesday is class. All the Charter staff have made my father welcome and help him if he needs any assistance. I feel a comfort knowing that he is in a safe and stable environment. Living out of state that is very important. Thank you all for making Charter a great home for my father. We had a lovely visit with relatives at Charter Senior Living of Pekin, IL. Our aunt was able to arrange a nice Christmas gathering for us in one of their community/activity rooms. The establishment was clean and very well taken care of, but the biggest testament to the quality of this place was the feedback we heard from our Aunt. She had nothing but great things to say about the staff, who according to her are the best part of living at Charter. I know this place is doing something right because our Aunt is particular and Charter meets and exceeds her expectations. This is my second experience with Charter Senior Living (CSL). My Aunt was here for several years, loved it , and now my Mother has moved here from another facility. The facility my Mother was in only had one level of care. CSL has levels of care that fill the space between single level of care and nursing homes. The staff is friendly and attentive, activities are plentiful, rooms are bright and food is good. Mother recently celebrated her 100th birthday at CSL. The kitchen staff and others were most helpful. Mother wishes she would have moved here sooner.

This place is top notch!! The staff is attentive and happy , and just wonderful with all of the people that live here . Kim is the Marketing Director, and is wonderful to work with. She makes the experience so simple. I have the most loving caring staff potentially anywhere. The food is out of this world good. My mother has not been this happy in years. They involve them with activities and Comedy and I loving warm atmosphere daily. This is the best decision my brothers and I have made or our mother.

My dad has been in a nursing home for the last 5 months. He had medical issues that are still on going. He did not need the nursing home at this point but still needed assistance. Kim at Charter came to see him and me about transition to the assisted living there. I took a tour of the facility and was amazed. The facility was excellent and the staff I meet was amazing. I took my father who is 92 to charter and he was very excited in moving there. We moved him in to Charter. The transition went very smooth. Kim and the staff helped me every step of the transition to Charter. And it does not stop there. The care I am sure he will get will be excellent. It has taken a lot of stress out of my life. There are not enough words to describe how amazing this place is. The staff is out of this world! It is so family oriented. They make everyone feel important, and very cared for. I have never experienced so many employees that actually sincerely enjoy their jobs. We feel very lucky to be part of this village. Thank you for making my Dad’s transition so easy and enjoyable.

My mom has just joined the community at Charter in Pekin and I could not be more pleased for her. She is finally finding some peace from all the worries she was dealing with trying to stay in her home of 65 years that she loved and thought she could never accept leaving. The choice for her was initially a very difficult one to make, but after researching and visiting a few places, she knew if she was going to leave the home she loved, she wanted to come to Charter where she was made to feel so welcome by everyone, including staff and residents. The rooms are spacious and lovely and different sizes are offered. The size mom had hoped for was not available though, but an opening of a smaller size did become available. They thoughtfully offered her the chance to move in there and still keep her name on the list for the one she wanted. By making floor plans and using the space efficiently, we were able to get almost all of her treasures in the current room. She is now so happy where she is at that i doubt she will want to even move to the room she thought she would require! Mom initially had worried about meals considering she has a lack of vision, but she will not go hungry! The personnel are so good about reading the menu to her and finding selections that she likes. She says the food which is brought to the table is outstanding. If she doesn’t show up to the table for her meal, someone always makes sure she is doing ok. There are always meal options to choose from and they will let her take the food back to the room if she wants to finish it later. She also has a small refrigerator in her room so she can have snacks for bedtime treats. She is amazed at all the activities that are available at Charter. She has gone to a handful of them and had such a great time. She had gotten so used to being home alone and didn’t think she would want to leave her room, but she has found out she is enjoying spending time with people like she used to. It has been so good for her to be reminded that she is still a wonderful person who is fun to be around. Kim, Alan, and Angi have become family and I trust that they and the rest of the staff I have met are looking out for mom with as much love as I could. Mom says every one of the personnel has been outstanding with their kindness, even when she has been having a bad day and needs a little extra TLC. It has been a truly great decision to have mom in this wonderful community!

Excellent care provided by a caring staff. There are many opportunities for activities at Cedarhurst and outside the community. We visited many of the community living opportunities and chose Cedarhurst. We are glad we did.

Warm and welcoming from the moment you arrive with a very responsive team that performs like a family eager to help. The food prepared by the friendly chef and staff make meal time inviting. It’s obvious their is a strong mission to serve as it shows in not only in the daily ongoing care, but also through the special activities. I am so pleased to know that Cedarhurst is the right and caring place for our mother.

Cedarhurst was an answer to prayer. My brother and I toured three facilities and Cedarhurst was like home for our Dad. We had not anticipated when we picked it out we would have three days to get him moved in. The staff at Cedarhurst went above and beyond to accommodate us. Fast forward....Dad is doing great. Loves the people, the environment the food, and the activities. Thank you Cedarhurst for the peace you have given our family in knowing Dad is being well taken care of.

Our parents were married nearly 67 years when mom passed away recently. We began looking at assisted living communities in our area for dad and knew instantly that Cedarhurst was the right choice. The entire staff is absolutely wonderful, the food is amazing, and the other residents have welcomed dad with open arms. He has now been living there nearly 2 months and we have no regrets. Our family would highly recommend Cedarhurst of Pekin to anyone looking for an assisted living community.

My moms rent keeps increasing. Yet she gets nothing additional for that extra cash. Her floor is once again a problem. And it feels as if money is the most important thing to this company. It used to be about family...now its not. The staff is wonderful, the business corporation is not. Repairs take weeks if not months. And now the cost of family holiday meals is DOUBLING and that is AFTER a raise in price already. New fees seem to come out of nowhere. I may have to look elsewhere and move my mom. Was hoping she could finish her life here, but possibly not. I liked it better BEFORE cedarhurst bought it.

Moving our mom to Cedarhurst was a great decision. Kind of scary transitioning her to a new facility. It went so well though. The staff is gracious and helpful which made all the difference. Mom loves it there. She's eating very well, is more active socially and loves her caregivers. I would recommend Cedarhurst without hesitation.

As I’m working towards my Bachelor’s of Nursing, I had to do many community hours at different places. After spending an entire day with this community, I must say this was my favorite experience. Angi, the Life Enrichment Director, makes such a positive impact on every single resident that it is beyond heartwarming to witness. As one of the residents said She keeps us going. I have never met a more engaging activities director. Not only does each activity she plans come from her heart with the residents in mind, she goes door to door prior to each activity to check in on her residents. My jaw hurts from all of the smiling and laughter I shared with the very welcoming residents. Kim, the Director of Sales, believes in her community and she will go above and beyond to make sure that Cedarhurst feels like home for you or your family member. While I was only there for a short period, I witnessed her and James from maintenance working towards making one of the resident’s homes feel even homier. Making the choice for yourself or a family member to leave their own home is one of the most difficult decisions one ever faces. With that being said, if it’s that time for you or a family member, let Cedarhurst be your new home, your new community.

My dad has been a resident for a few years and is very comfortable in his apartment. My sister and I appreciate the attention he gets and quality of care. He loves the CNAs and we appreciate their friendly and professional attitudes. He loves the entertainment, field trips and spending mealtime with other residents. The atmosphere is friendly and upbeat. We are confident knowing he is in very capable hands.

My father lived at Morningside of Pekin for over 4 years. I can’t say enough about the wonderful facility and the Fantastic staff...!! Dad throughly enjoyed the daily activities...from playing cards and shooting pool to proudly displaying his Bingo prizes as trophies. He always looked forward to the group outings to museums, parks and specially lunches. The frequent parties they hosted for various Holidays, inviting family and friends to share in Great Food and Good Fun are memories I will always treasure..... As sad as it is to endure the last stages of your parent’s life, I’ll never forget his Happiness of coming Home to Morningside after his extended stays of hospitals/nursing homes....Long story Short....the Staff and Residents became our FAMILY...and were ALL there when We needed them Most....!!

My Mother turned 100 in May 2017. She loves it there. The staff is very friendly. They helped us coordinate a birthday party there on site. Very clean building, they have a mini shuffleboard table, pool table, chapel, daily activities, movie night just to name a few. Just wonderful.
