Let me extend the highest praise to the team at Westmont of Escondido. They provide exceptional care for the residents, care that can become more extensive over time and as the residents’ needs change. Two of our immediate family members live there, one on a falling-down watch, one with cognitive issues. Their needs are different, but both their needs are provided. Westmont supports the families of the residents. When we need their help, they are there for us. This is very reassuring when our loved ones are staying at Westmont. The facility is clean. The food service is very good both in atmosphere and meals provided. The meals are very important to our family since it is the only food they eat regularly. They have physical therapy care, pool and gym facilities, medical assistance, and a wonderful staff. Their team genuinely cares for the residents. We’ve had close friends with family that lived at Westmont also sing their praises. So again, I have only high praise for Westmont.

I run 3 of those activities. I find the care staff here excellent. Food here is very good and the residents are all contemporaries relatively of same age. Westmont of Escondido is a fabulous community!! My parents have recently moved to Westmont of Escondido from another facility near by and what a huge difference! The staff run by Austin Irwin is amazing. The level of care is A+++++ from the med techs, cleaning staff, maintenance staff, front desk and all the departments are top notch! The food is fabulous! The rooms are large very clean and well maintained! They check on the residents throughout the day making sure every need is met. I cannot say enough about this facility! The social activities are numerous. The best decision our family has made was to move them to Westmont Living! If you're looking for a loving, caring facility for your family, you too should make to the move to Westmont. I can't say enough about Austin and his tremendous staff! I am a Gen-X and definitely sandwich (my daughter is graduating college next month, you can imagine I have a lot on my plate). My husband and I moved my mom from the east coast last fall and we decided Assisted Living was the best option. Long story but we found Westmont at exactly the right time. We met with Meghan and Austin and we were immediately impressed with the hands-on approach and they're professionalism. We moved my mom into Westmont this past Wednesday. Everyone we have encountered from the maintenance crew (Marlon and Ishmael) to the Med-Techs were incredibly kind and generous to help. Unfortunately my mom wasn't feeling well (and vomiting) Wednesday and Thursday which turned into Friday. I received a call from Sequora on Friday afternoon at about 4:45pm suggesting we have her seen as not to dehydrate. I agreed. Sequora was amazing and reassured me, that they would send my mom in a private ambulance and send her ID, insurance and her med list. AUSTIN and his team are caring, compassionate and I really feel like they are partnering with me in my mom's care. I cannot say enough about this amazing experience.

My mother-in-law has been a resident of Westmont for over 5 years. We were initially attracted by the warm family feeling, the number and variety of activities available, the wide selection of food in the dining room, and the apartment itself (which is beautiful and doesn’t require the resident to relocate when assisted living support is required). Recently Mom has transitioned from being fully independent to requiring assisted living services. The Med Tech Director, Maria Aranda, is highly responsive and we are pleased with the quality of the care Mom receives, particularly from Laura and Monica. It’s important to note that the attitude of these women is as good as their service. When they don’t know something, they are eager to learn, apply and serve. They are cheerful givers. With 5 years of perspective, here is our summary of Westmont Escondido: Activities: Kelli Grissom is above and beyond all expectations of an activity director. She knows each resident (and most of their families!) and treats each one as if they were her family. There are a plethora of activities every week. Outstanding! Administration: There have been various leadership changes throughout our 5 years here, but there are already promising advancements with Austin Irwin joining Westmont Escondido. We are also thrilled to have Tasha Keller return as the Business Director! We are confident in their abilities to support our needs. Tiffany is superb as front desk support and it’s great to have Juana on board for the late/weekend hours. The integration of new workers is a large task and each director appears dedicated to making that happen quickly and effectively. Med Tech and Care Team support: We didn’t personally know the previous Med Tech Directors (no previous need), but we have had wonderful support from Maria Aranda. There has not been one word of negativity or can’t do. Although we have had challenges over the past few months with new medical needs and new medical techs, the learning curve is reasonable (although we’d like perfect, that’s not reality). Again, Maria AND her team have great attitudes and are willing to learn and apply the necessary skills. We are looking forward to having the full care team with the same level of performance as Laura and Monica . Dining Room: Although there has been significant turnover in the dining room in particular, this is not uncommon in the industry, and is often seasonal. The food used to be great, is now very good (in my estimation), but definitely could use more staff to serve the residents/guests. We anticipate continued improvements in staffing and service under Austin Irwin, the executive director. Facilities: From day 1 we have had excellent support from facilities. From installations/modifications to carpet cleaning to Cox cable support. Thank you! We understand that Facility’s leadership is about to change but are hopeful that the new director will continue the good work! Housekeeping : Maria cleans Mom’s apartment weekly and does a great job. Our extra requests are received with eagerness to help when possible. Memory Care : Not Applicable to us, but have heard many positive comments. We hope this review is helpful to you in deciding whether or not to choose Westmont Escondido. This can be a challenging stage of life and it truly helps to be in a place that values each and every resident.

My mother moved into Westmont of Escondido 2/17/2021, during the Covid pandemic. We have been through a tremendous amount of changes in management during this time, but Kelli Grissom is the person that continuously instilled confidence in us that things would improve and eventually they did! Kelli is the epitome of knowledge and loyalty to her employer, her team, her residents and their families, and she shows her dedication without hesitation. With the staffing changes in caregivers, directors and support personnel, it has been tough to be optimistic, but since the addition of Austin Irwin as the Executive Director, things are definitely changing for the better. It is crystal clear that Austin's #1 priority is the residents happiness and well being, and he is working tirelessly to implement that priority across all the Westmont departments. With my mother being in Memory care for just over 3 years now, I can also say that Austin's appointment of Socorro Garcia as the Memory Care Director has resulted in a noticeable improvement in housekeeping, caregiver accountability and focus on the residents being the #1 priority of all team members in Memory Care. Additionally I want to acknowledge Raquel as the new Memory Care Activities coordinator, bringing compassion, creativity, participation and a genuine love for her residents and their families. She is a true God send! Shout out to bringing back Tasha Keller as the Business Operations Director! She has the enthusiasm, and the knowledge to keep a very chaotic job under control. There are numerous other caregivers and support staff that deserve recognition for their compassion to the residents and the dedication to doing their jobs well! I can honestly say that I recommend Westmont of Escondido for the care of our loved ones!

Perhaps the fact that I and my wife have lived at Westmont Town Court for ten years will be a good start to this recommendation as a wonderful place to live out the late years of your life. By God's grace, both my wife and I are in Independent Living, so we are still enjoying the freedom of being close to most necessities, no housekeeping, no weekly shopping for groceries no mowing the lawn, no plumbing problems, etc., etc. The entire staff is very friendly and caring. Kind and caring caregivers are available 24/7 to respond to personal pagers, when required. Our chef provides a great variety of good food in the specious dining room and is always available for suggestions. An indoor pool, a nicely equipped exercise room, physical therapy, and limited medical personnel are readily available. What more could you ask? Five Stars, please.

Brandie was extremely friendly and informative! It was a much different experience when I called this facility than the 2 others I called this week! The facility has changed directors 3-4 times over the past couple of years. Large turnover in the staff also. Once your loved one is established they tend to raise the "monthly assessment" without warning. Then they ghost you when you try to contact the staff and try to figure out why the cost has just skyrocketed. Not a good situation - but once your loved one is established and feels comfortable it can be very traumatic to change facilities.

Worst memory care ever. My mom was neglected, basically starved, according to Palomar hospital. She was underweight because she hated the food and wouldn't eat. They would not feed her food she liked, the food they served her wasn't fit for a cat! Do not put your loved one in their memory care. You will be sorry. Dr Moore at Palomar hospital also said she was severely underweight, weighing 80 pounds. Her tv didn't work for more than 2 months and when we complained all we got were excuses! They couldn't be bothered! I won't even give one star. Maybe should be negative 5! I have no nothing good to to say about westmont. Except they are making me pick one star To post

Our father has been at this facility for a while now, and our family was having trouble locating a bed for his room. Without a truck, logistics were proving difficult. So, I decided to reach out to Malou to see if there were potentially any available onsite beds in a desperate text for help. She said she would look into it. Realistically, I didn't expect much to come from this interaction, but she went beyond her typical call of duty to hunt one down for us. To my surprise, I received confirmation of an onsite bed. She promptly contacted us and set a pickup date. Although the bed was confirmed, we still needed to disassemble the bed and move it to its new location. I was planning on doing this by myself, but then I met Teresa, who insisted on helping me get the bed to my dad's room. I persisted that I could handle it myself, but she unselfishly insisted on helping. She brought tools and disassembled the frame for the move. In a time when people mostly care for themselves, it was super refreshing to see both Malou and Teresa go above and beyond to accommodate. If I could give a six-star review, I absolutely would. The staff here is beyond amazing.

I am so happy that we selected Westmont Town Court for my mom. She had been living independently, then broke her ankle, and came to Westmont needing quite a high level of care initially, due to an unwieldly boot and of course not being able to walk at first. The care at Westmont has been wonderful, and now my mom is back to being nearly independent again. The wonderful surprise has been how much she likes it there. She was someone who was shy, said that she didn't want to "live with a bunch of people", wouldn't want to do activities, and would never want to eat "someone else's food". She is now going to some activity almost every day, walking around by herself, and very much enjoying eating with other people. She has several women that she considers to be new friends, and is really enjoying all the interactions. She also likes the caregivers that have been helping her very much. I have noticed that the caregiving staff seems to be happy whenever I have interacted with them, or overheard them talking to each other. To me that is an excellent sign of a well-run community. I very much like their point system for various services. I don't have experience elsewhere, but my sense of it is that is more economical for us, and likely better for Westmont as well. Currently the dining room is being renovated, and I see signs that many of the rooms are receiving upgraded appliances, so these are good signs to me as well. Nothing is perfect, but I feel good about my mom being there, and haven't regretted it for a moment. They have truly been in a blessing in our lives.

Cool building, welcoming staff, good food. What's not to love? The Medtechs, caregivers and houskeepers - the staff who come into my room frequently - treat my cat well and play with her. (by the way: you can have pets here). The dining room staff are friendly and seem not to mind my dumb sense of humor. The food is good. If you're not thrilled by the main entrees on the menu, you can always opt for a burger, salad or sandwich. There are plenty of organized activities. If you'd rather enjoy fresh air/read a book, your apartment will have a nice deck. Downtown Escondido is only a block away. If you like to walk, this is a nice location. Plenty of things to see on the side streets. Check it out. Take a tour.

In March my brother and sister looked for a facility for mom to move into with the option of assisted living in the future. We all agreed on Westmont Escondido after looking at couple other places in the San Diego area. I went over from Hong Kong last month to help my mom to sign the contract and move into her apartment. Met with David and Malou who are in charge of the facility and residents relations respectively. They both were extremely nice, experienced, understanding and caring. They were there not just to do their job but also went beyond to help make the transition smooth and were always there to be sure mom settled in well. The restaurant staff are so attentive that after couple meals they know what mom likes for food and drinks. The facility has variety of activities to let the residents enjoy and be involved in as part of the community. The other residents we met are all very welcoming and so nice to talk to that it is not difficult to feel at home. My siblings and I all felt assured that we made the correct decision with mom in helping her move there.

My Mom has lived at the Westmont Escondido going on 9 years now! She often tells me how kind the staff is, especially the activities director, Kelly, who is so dedicated and friendly. She also says the healthcare assistants are also very compassionate. The people who come to clean her apartment to the man who fixes everything, Javier, are kind. She loves the fact that she has a full kitchen, and she can cook when she wants to and makes it feel homey. The food is very good and they have a wide variety of choices. There is even an indoor pool and exercise room. She is an avid reader and they have a great library...she volunteered for years and loved it. My Mom owned a home in Escondido for many years so the community is also familiar to her. I would highly recommend the Westmont Escondido.

Malou was our contact person in the beginning and has always been very helpful and caring, with a passion we didn’t know existed. If you have something you need help with she is there to listen. I have lived here for over five years. The care staff is amazing! The dining staff is excellent. The Directors that run the community are like family. I would highly recommend this community to anyone looking for senior living.
