some staff, those most frequently encountered, speaks with accented versions of English; also seems not to understand what you say in English; primary concern is EATING over SLEEPING - lots of knocking on outer and bedroom door to see if you are going to a 'restaurant' scheduled meal; lots more "just checking". restaurant menu getting more limited over last 2 months, is mostly ok. generally, if you don't mind considerable questioning and "necessary" intrusions on whatever you are doing you will not mind this style of caregiving.

The staff members are very friendly, courteous and show great care and respect to people. Those in Memory Care are treated with respect. The facility is very clean. The rooms for residents are spacious and well laid out. The facility's layout is spacious with indoor & outdoor porches, areas inside where you can sit and visit comfortably. The location is good as there is a park across the street.

Thanks to the management for weathering the storms of less staff, Sunrise is Currently fully staffed. Sunrise is a great place, for your loved one to call home. Help Is always available to residents and workers.

My father has been a resident of Sunrise for over a year now and I have to say that it was a rocky start due to frequent staff turnover. However, the new leadership has organized processes and care teams that have helped significantly with the family and resident experience. I have sat with my father for hours at a time and observed how the staff treats residents and does their best to make a tough time easier. They accommodate requests for meetings with the care team and have gotten to know my father well. There are numerous adjunctive services available as well for residents who are able to participate. These services include fishing trips (!) movies, music, concerts, bingo and basic physical movement activities. We have had easy and quick access to PT, OT and companion care for my father. While we all wish aging were easier, I think my father is in the best situation possible given his health concerns. You do have to stay aware of your family member's needs, but if you want to be involved, Sunrise staff makes it very easy to do so.

While we chose a different facility due to location preference, Sunrise of Golden Valley will be our fallback if our initial choice does not succeed. Staff at Sunrise were caring, knowledgeable, and worked hard to meet our needs. It was a challenging decision but can fully recommend Sunrise if the location suits your needs.

My mom needed specialized care while she was at Sunrise of Golden Valley -- somewhere between Memory Care and Skilled Nursing, but not quite either -- and the Sunrise staff did everything to make her and our family feel comfortable, tended to, and cared for before and during COVID. In the weeks leading to her passing, the communication they offered when I couldnt visit made the difference and helped me feel comforted in the journey.

Sunrise has been a great experience for my Dad. The staff have been kind, courteous and respectful at all times and attentive to my Dad's needs. The menu and food have been wonderful and everyone does what they can to make your loved one feel at home and part of a big family by encouraging participation in activities they might enjoy. Missy the house pup makes everyone happy!

My mother moved to Sunrise in June. Leaving home isnt easy, but every single staff member from Dean the leasing manager to the health care, admin, and housekeeping crew has gone above and beyond to make her feel welcome and at home there. The common area spaces are warm and inviting, the food is good, and the gentle yellow lab, Missy is there to greet you every day. The variety of daily activities offer something for everyone. I am happy to say my mom is thriving! Thank you Sunrise staff - you made a difficult life moment better not only for my mom, but for her loved ones as well.

After two other supposedly five star facilities we found Sunrise in Golden Valley to actually BE a five star facility without promoting themselves as such. The staff, and I mean the entire staff, are sensitive, caring, professional and loving. They care for the residents with such magnificent attitude we never leave our love one with anxiety or concern like we did in the other two. In fact, the reason we moved our love one was due to abuse and neglect-both times. Sunrise is the exact opposite. Homey and filled with laughter, joy and serenity even when things become chaotic, as they often do in a memory care facility-it is the nature of the reality, Sunrise-Golden Valley staff is trained to work with such efficiency , it becomes a non-sequitur. We love Sunrise-Golden Valley.
