My mother is in memory care at Copperfield. Other than a couple hiccups, she is well cared for. Amy head of nursing in the unit is very responsive and does a good job addressing any concerns I have.

My mother was in the memory care unit at the Lodge for almost 10 years. The staff loved and cared for her, especially in her last years there. They brought in treats, gave parties for the residents, did her nails and hair and generally had endless patience with people with dementia. When my mom was in hospice in the last year, I happened to be there when the nurse from the hospice was there to check on my mom. She told me that she goes to many memory care facilities and she said that the staff at Copperfield was one of the best she encountered. She said it is obvious that they cared for the people there. Also Chrissy, the manager at the lodge listened to my concerns about working with Medicaid and provided my guidance on how to get through the application process. She was a life saver and I am grateful for her advice and unwavering support. The physical building may not be the fanciest, but the people working there more than make up for it. It was a safe and loving place for my mom and me during her long goodbye. I am forever grateful to them.

Initially my review was poor because the staff was not great and care was less than ideal. But the team here has worked hard to make improvements and step it up. The nurses and managers are above and beyond! They do more than just the daily tasks, they take time to really know my mom. The aids well that’s another story, some are awesome - and some seem like they should quit immediately because it’s clear they have no interest in caring for people. Sadly - that’s a reality and pretty much all care facilities.

Copperfield Hill has exceptional management staff! Like most senior homes staffing is an ongoing challenge--there are amazing staff members and a few less than amazing. BUT--with such high caliber management you can be assured that issues will be addressed and the general trend is always of improvement. They earn their high score honestly and consistently every day! Most of the staff is kind and thoughtful in in every situation. This is a place I trust.

I have no experience with loved ones living here. However I delivered a package here yesterday. I just wanted to compliment the cleanliness and charming environment. As I was walking out I seen residents playing cards in the commons area and they looked so happy and relaxed. Definitely will recommend this to my grandmother when she starts looking for a new place. As far as first impressions go I would like to compliment the staff on that!

My 93 year old dad has been living at Copperfield Hill for a year now. He is very happy there and as his daughter I am very happy he is there too, especially given the difficult Covid times. I know that my dad is being lovingly and thoughtfully cared for and that is so comforting for both of us. He absolutely loves the staff, he has a genuine fondness for his caregivers!

My sweet 93 year old father has been a resident at Copperfield Hill for 13 months now. He is happy and content to call Copperfield home. As his daughter I couldn’t be more grateful that this is how he feels. I am ever grateful that he is receiving the excellent care and love he is so deserving of. Talk about frontline heroes; our Copperfield family has courageously kept my dad and the residents safe, active, well fed and loved during this time with Covid. Dad has often said what good people help him and that he feels so respected. Need I say more!? Selfishly, I pray that if I’m lucky enough to get to be 93, Copperfield will be there for me too!

My dear mother was a resident of Copperfield Hill for five years, with four and one half in independent living. After a fall that resulted in a leg fracture, we placed her on managed care. Up until the fracture and isolation caused by COVID 19, she had a remarkable stay at Copperfield, making friends and enjoying the company of residents and staff. Coronavirus put a hold on most of the physical interaction with family, but she maintained a fairly positive attitude thanks to her daily contact with staff and phone calls from family and friends. In spite of recent constraints, the Copperfield staff has done a remarkable job in care and monitoring, and maintaining contact with the family. Her consistent complaint was she was provided more food at mealtime than she could eat. We were so pleased with the quality of accommodations, care and extracurricular activities provided that we convinced my father-in-law to check Copperfield out. He’s now a resident and his only complaint is he doesn’t get enough food. Go figure. Kudos Copperfield. And, by the way, I managed mom’s finances and I was very satisfied with the cost of apartment rental and her managed care.

We have been Independent Living residents in a one bedroom, handicapped accessible apartment since earlier this year. We downsized from our 3 bedroom home of over 29 years. Our plan had been that our home would be our residence until we died. My wife's disability made navigating our 75 year old house near impossible, not to forget my own slowing down. We were sold on Copperfield Hill after we took the tour. The staff are friendly, dedicated folks. There are many activities in which to participate, as well as transportation being provided to churches, medical appointments, shopping, banking, and other outings. Local stores and restaurants deliver here. My wife usually prepares our meals, but we also have meal tickets should we decide to eat in the dining room, which posts a weekly menu, or we can select something else from a menu. We have no more weeding, mowing, shoveling, and we don't have to worry about a plumber, electrician or replacing an appliance. We also have great peace of mind knowing that should the time come for either of us to change from Independent to Assisted Living, we can stay in our apartment. We definitely made the right decision when we chose Copperfield Hill as our retirement home.

My father has been in Copperfield Hills for almost three years and now has stage four cancer. I’ve found Copperfield so supportive in allowing him as independent of a life as possible, all the while making sure it is a safe and secure environment. The facility is not perfect, as it is over 20 years old, but it is attractive, well maintained and offers all the services that my father has needed. It is only recently that he has switched from independent to full assisted living, as he begins hospice care, which has saved us money given the option to update the services only when needed. My father now qualifies for VA paid nursing home service and I’ve come to appreciate Copperfield all the more after touring several other facilities. I’m not going to post any horror stories because I do not know all the fact behind those places caring for our vets. To date, I’ve not found a perfect place that is affordable for real people, therefore, I recommend checkout Copperfield given their caring staff and they’ve certainly met the needs of my father and as well as the rest of the family.

My mom is in memory care, and the staff there are very friendly. They seem to really care about the residents. If something is not to my mom's liking, or something needs attention, all I have to do is let someone know, and it is taken care of. The food is really good, which is very important to the residents, and the portions are generous. My mom especially likes the bus trips, and driving up the parkway is especially pleasant.

My mother has been a resident of Memory Care at the Lodge at Copperfield Hill for the last 19 months. While it's been heartbreaking to watch her change over the past several years as the wicked dementia has ravaged her highly intelligent, witty mind, there are a few silver linings: 1) My father is living and very dedicated to her care. He reluctantly consented to move her out of their home only after every other possibility had been exhausted. He faithfully picks Mom up every evening at Copperfield and takes her out for dinner- or at least a dish of ice cream. My sister and I tell Dad to go ahead and give that girl all the ice cream she wants! 2) Mom's faith in God is intact. Our family was sitting around the table discussing an issue. All of a sudden she emphatically declared, "We need to pray about this right now!" So we did. 3) The Lodge is her home, and she knows it. She may occasionally think it's a hotel (that she owns, in her mind) but she seems content to return there night after night. No complaints. No fuss. There are the occasions when we visit and find her sleeping in another room. We've found some of her belongings in other closets, and things that don't belong to her in her closet. This is to be expected in Memory Care. It doesn't seem to be problematic for the residents - only for those of us who visit. Our family has learned to let go of many small things that may have seemed important prior to this chapter of our lives. Mom seems content. Most of the time, anyway. That's what counts. She lives in a place where she is as safe and secure as possible. The Aides at the Lodge are her angels. They cannot possibly be everywhere at all times, but they are very caring and attentive. Brenda, the Director of Activities, is amazing. There are games & crafts, manicures, Bible studies, sing-a-longs, birthday celebrations, and so much more. Mom likes the food. Dad brings her to my house for dinner sometimes. Not long after we eat, she starts to ask if they're "going back to the hotel." We're used to her language now. It's comforting. We know that in her mind, Copperfield has become her home. It gives us peace of mind. I empathize with those of you who have to decide where to place your loved one. I can only speak from the experience that our family has had, of course, but I wouldn't hesitate to try Copperfield Hill. It has been a blessing.

Moving parents out of their home of many years, into an Independent Living/Assisted Living is not easy. I am so thankful for the staff at Copperfield Hill for making this transition as smooth as possible for our family. My parents loved living on the 5th floor of the Manor for 4 months prior to my mother’s death. They made a lot of new friends, and enjoyed the activities that were planned for the residents. My mother attended the weekly Bible Study with Pastor Jan, and enjoyed the Sunday morning services. They also took advantage of the wonderful meals that are offered in the dining room. In April 2018, the staff helped our family with the difficult decision of having our father move to Memory Care. Again, the nurses, and staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Our father has been in Copperfield Hill Manor Memory Care now for 7 months, and though it hasn’t been easy, I appreciate all that the nurses and staff have done in assisting our family in this transition. Our father is adjusting and is happy. Since I live out of state, the activity director, Brenda, keeps me informed and sends me pictures of my Dad participating in fun events, and even took him fishing this summer. The Director of Nursing, RN’s and LVN Amy are very open to my concerns, and do their best to accommodate them. A special shout out to Luke in maintenance who has always gone above and beyond in helping my parents. Thankful and Grateful.

Copperfield Hill is an acceptable comfortable place to live, you receive good value for the price incurred. I reviewed two other places before selecting Copperfield, however both of the other places were $1000.00 a month higher. Copperfield provides adequate good tasting meals. The wait staff are polite and courteous. The main issues are when there is lack of wait staff and meals are served on plastic plates, cups and utensils. This happens periodically for days at a time. The shortage of help also occurs in Housekeeping as well. The good news is the Activities provided are fun and well attended. They are planned well ahead and coincide with the seasons of the year. The underground garage is acceptable but could use an annual cleaning once or twice a year. The building maintenance staff do an excellent job keeping the building and outside grounds in good shape, even though they are short handed. Bottom line I am satisfied with the overall facility, when one considers the value received compared to the monthly cost, it's money well spent.

My mother had lived in Assisted Living for 2 years with numerous and increasing services as her dementia began encroaching. The nursing staff was attentive, caring and took a personal interest in my Mom, often calling me with questions and concerns. When she had to be transferred to Memory Care for her own safety, the staff quickly facilitated the move -from transferring furniture, to advising me on the least disruptive manner to introduce the transfer. Her favorite nurse walked with us as we brought her to MC for the first time and stayed as she got settled and after we left. The staff all knows me as her daughter and ask after her. Staff from Assisted have also made a point of visiting her in MC. I am grateful for the skill, kindness and warmth shown to her prior to her transfer to MC. I also found the head of MC quite open to my suggestions of additional activity for my mother, and very responsive to my texts, calls and emails.

My mother has been at Copperfield Hill for a little over a year and she seems pretty happy there. She enjoys the food that is served to her at lunch and dinner time. She talks about how nice the staff is in the kitchen, including the Chef. My mom has extra medical needs, so she sees the nursing staff along with the NAR's many times a day and she has a great relationship with all of them. There are many activities at Copperfield Hill for the residents and my mom does enjoy some of them. All in all, she feels safe and is happy at Copperfield Hill.

When my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the age of 57, I knew as an only child, the level of responsibility I'd be taking on to take care of him at home would be high, not to mention stressful. We lasted caring for dad at home about 5 years before it became too much. Dad became violent with us and began wandering the neighborhood. Finding a place for dad became difficult, as I learned not every assisted living or nursing home facility has a specific memory care unit. It was an emotional time for me as I would pack dads things, place him in a facility, then get a phone call two days later that my dad was being sent to a geriatric psych care unit across town for "evaluation". Unfortunately, this happened 4 different times. An average day for me during at this point, included waking up every morning, and getting on the phone/internet and continuing my search for a memory care unit. When I came across Copperfield Hills website, to say I was impressed would be an understatement. The website was beautifully set up and easy to navigate. To see videos, pictures, and testimonies of/from residents was comforting. Learning the facility was family owned and operated, and that the founder built facility so he had somewhere for his mother with Alzheimer's to go, was inspiring. To be able to see complete activity calendars for each division of the facility was intriguing, as I realized they had a very structured memory care unit!!! Taking a tour and dealing with the marketing team/director was a very positive experience!! Honestly, in all my dealings with staff since placing dad at Copperfield, I have always left conversations feeling his care and dignity is a priority, and that I could relax at night knowing he was cared for properly. If you are looking for a facility for your loved one, Copperfield Hill should be at the top of your list to check out. From the facility itself, to the staff (on site and admin), I couldn't be happier to have chosen them as my fathers care facility.

My Dad, 93, moved into Copperfield Hill two years ago. He loves it there. He lives independently and takes his lunch and often dinner in the dining room and really likes the food. He loves the parties that they put on which for $5 or $6 they get appetizers, alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks, and live entertainment. Since he moved in they have been very good about fixing anything needed quickly in his apartment even changing a light bulb when he couldn't reach it. They have been doing an extensive remodeling inside and just redid the landscaping and sidewalks in the front. Next year they will be redoing the back landscaping. Everything looks so nice! Much to my surprise when I have talked to them in the office about something for his apartment, the office workers know which apartment # he is in and this is a large building!

My mother-in-law lived in the independent Sr. apartments at Copperfield Hill from 2010 until her death in 2012. She loved her time there - and often said she wished she had moved in sooner! When my parents decided to move back to Minnesota into an apartment in 2014 they visited several Sr. Living facilities and also decided to move to the independent apartments at Copperfield Hill. Adjusting to an apartment from their single family home was easier than we expected, and much easier than adjusting to Minnesota winter weather (they had lived in Texas for many years)! They also love the variety of activities, the on-site option for Sunday worship service, and have begun eating more meals in the dining room as they have found the food to be excellent. As a family member, I have appreciated the friendly staff - from housekeepers to administrators!

I have been a resident here since August of 2013...Food in the dining area is GREAT though the facility is POOR in activities provided and opportunities for 'younger' residents. I am 58 and disabled due to a bout with multiple sclerosis. Staff is subject to HIGH turnover (including administrators) and questions about individual needs/wants are rarely asked....
