We had a very negative experience with The Commons Skilled Nursing and Rehab facility. Our elderly mother was admitted after a hospitalization with the hope that she could improve her strength enough to return to assisted living. We were told it was a highly sought-after rehab, and the one positive aspect was that she had her own room. However, during the 3 or so weeks she was there, she endured being treated in a dismissive and unfriendly manner by the aides who transferred and assisted her, experienced excessive wait times for assistance, was bruised three times due to awkward transfers and a blood pressure cuff that was too tight, and had one medication error by an on-call nurse practitioner from Mt. Auburn that thankfully turned out not to be serious. The head of nursing at The Commons was fantastic, and besides that error our mother received good nursing care there - thus the two stars. But the rest of her experience was very difficult. Even on the day she left, the staff didn’t notice that the wheelchair car they’d arranged for her transport never arrived until my mother called me to contact them to ask what was going on an hour after she was supposed to have left. When the vehicle finally arrived 3 hours late, it did not accommodate a wheelchair and she had to be loaded onto a stretcher. When I called to make sure her wheelchair would go with her, since I couldn’t trust The Commons anymore to handle things, I was cut off with a Ma’am, as I tried to explain that I needed to be 100% sure that her wheelchair would go with her. At one point, the head of administration thanked me for letting them know what had been going on and said they would address the issues and assured me that, This is not who we are. I hope she is right and that they make big improvements. We would not send a family member there again.

Receptionist Patricia is so amazingly efficient, kind and always welcoming. All of ou family member, who visit at least weekly and sometimes more often, have commented that she is so helpful in answering questions and directing us to the proper person to assist us. She knows the residents so well.

My wife spent six weeks in The Commons in Lincoln, REHAB wing. She was deathly ill when she arrived from Emerson Hospital. It was hoped by all she could make a recovery. The care she received was excellent. I truly can't say enough concerning the warmth, comfort and support of the staff. After her fifth week my wife made the decision to die. The staff's care of my wife during this very difficult time was excellent. She died in her sleep about 5:00 a.m. in no pain and very much at peace. I thank the Commons in Lincoln staff who made her last days so comfortable and for how supportive they were to both of us. I do recommend The Commons of Lincoln. Five stars, at least.

The Commons at Lincoln has a wonderful staff that is attentive to my uncle. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The only problem I’ve seen is that his socks disappeared but they also weren’t labeled.

Very beautiful location and facility . Meghan was excellent, patient and clear. We asked many questions which she patiently answered. It was very clean and tidy. The staff was kind and courteous. There have been times when the patient needed some non emergency help and it wasn’t easy to find. But overall, it’s been a good rehab placement.

First and foremost I want to say that the property is so warming and welcoming. The front desk staff was very attentive when I checked in for my visit. I felt right at home. While moving from a family home is challenging, choosing Lincoln Commons made that so much easier for our parents and whole family. They lived in a cottage with independent living for four years, then moved into assisted living. Dad, now a widower, is surrounded by caring staff and other residents. He enjoys current event discussions, walks with friends on the beautiful grounds, and sharing daily weather reports. As his needs increase, he receives more services, and he is happy with his quality of life, focusing on what he can do more than his losses.

The one testimonial I’d like to give is for our director , Reynaldo Le Blanc. We are fortunate to have a director who cares, is a genuine person, he is always empathic. To give an example one of our residents tripped and fell in the dining room. While waiting for the EMT, Rey got down in the floor with the fallen woman and stayed with her there until help arrived. Like in that situation he is there for us. This is a very natural response because of who he is .

The rehab facility is excellent. Plenty of attentive and friendly staff work to ensure that the needs of clients are met. Rooms are very nice and food is good. Night vs. day compared to understaffed facilities filled with incompetent staff that are more interested in wringing every cent out of Medicare and then showing clients the door when the money runs out. I'd definitely send a relative there or go there myself.

Bumping this up from 3 to 5 stars after seeing a few other facilities. My parents have been there for five or six years. It took me a while to get comfortable with how fancy everything looks. And I try not to think about how much it costs. The staff is Terrific!
