MorningStar of Pasadena has been a fantastic community for my parents to settle in to after leaving their home of 50+ years. Dimetris was instrumental in guiding us through all the steps needed to make the move happen. He made a stressful process so much easier! For my parents, the transition to a new home has been difficult at times, but the staff here has gone the extra mile to help them adjust quickly. We are so grateful for how everything has worked out!

5-Star Review: A Wonderful Home for My Aunt with Dementia I can’t say enough about the care and compassion my Aunt has received at Morning Star Pasadena , Ca.. When we began looking for a place where she could thrive despite her dementia, we visited many facilities, but this one truly stood out from the start. The staff here is not only highly trained in dementia care but also remarkably patient, kind, and attentive. They go out of their way to make her feel safe, respected, and cared for every day. Also ensuring me anytime I have a concern of worry . They always offered a solution . Knowing that she’s in an environment that’s designed to support memory care has given our family immense peace of mind. What’s especially wonderful is how they keep her engaged with various activities and therapies tailored to residents with dementia. Whether it’s music, crafts, gentle exercises, or dancing she always has a positive outlet and routine that makes her feel valued and connected. The facility itself is clean, beautifully maintained, and has cozy common areas where residents can socialize. I’m grateful to the entire team at Morning Star of Pasadena for creating a warm, compassionate community that supports not just my Aunt but also our family. We couldn’t have asked for a better home for her, and I would highly recommend Morningstar to anyone searching for a loving and professional senior care facility for their loved one with dementia. 5 stars, without a doubt!

This is my observations as a visitor of Reflections Neighborhood (second floor memory care) when I visit a friend. I find the care staff friendly and organized about their tasks. They work as a team to move and attend to the residents who are less mobile or in wheelchairs. The living room and the activity room are clean and serene. Decor and paintings are changed for occasions. Daily activities include morning reads of historic tidbits, chair exercise, rest time before lunch or living room viewing of online nature programs. After lunch activities I have seen are rest time, singing olde time songs with a musician, bingo, art painting or craft, trivia pursuits. Highly professional musical performances are planned around holidays on the first floor for all Morningstar residents and seats are saved for the Reflections Neighborhood residents if they wish to attend with care staff. Residents are reminded and encouraged by staff to participate in all activities. Care staff are patient and understanding. The activities director, Yolanda, is always upbeat, cheerful, full of energy. The 3 course meals served in the dining room are well presented and in portions appropriate for a healthy diet. Residents get to choose between two entrees. Meal times are peaceful and efficient. My overall feeling about Morningstar when I visit, is that my friend is in a caring, safe, elegant, serene home.

Run dont walk to MorningStar. I cannot gush enough about the level of care my 90 year old mother is receiving just two weeks in, having moved from living alone in a house in NY. Everyone knows her name and she already has several friends. She loves the activities, the food is so good she fears she will gain weight. She won’t let me schedule doctor’s appointments on certain days because of the activity calendar. The staff could mot be friendlier. Jasmin and Dimetris in Community Relations held our hands from the very beginning through her arrival making the process a pleasure. We love Morningstar for the care and kindness they are showing. The place is a home run.

We had had an amazing experience moving our mother to assisted-living at MorningStar. It was a big move and transition but the MorningStar staff is responsive and super helpful. The facility itself is beautiful. Highly recommended.

After touring several assisted living communities in the Glendale/Pasadena/Burbank area, we settled on Morningstar as the best location for our elderly relative. Such a move is an emotionally tough time for families, and the staff at Morningstar were extremely helpful in getting us through this transition. The care is 5 star, Kevin and Dimitrius know their patients, and think of everything to be able to make ones stay comfortable and with a home like environment. Imagine even in their memory unit they have sensory couches for their residents. Not only that , for being an assisted living in Pasadena it's affordable, and luxurious . It's truly a beautiful, and caring place one thing I know is they take customer service above and beyond . Thank you to the Morningstar team

He’s fabulous and will show you everything wonderful about Morning Star and why you should choose this community. The staff is great and you just get a warm feeling when visiting. Highly recommended.

After thoroughly researching and touring over twenty senior living communities on behalf of our beloved Uncle (85 years young), it was love at first sight when we laid our eyes on MorningStar Senior Living of Pasadena. The apartments are spacious and beautiful and the community spaces (dining hall, bistro, movie theater, gym, salon, multiple lounges, and more) are gorgeously appointed, bright, and cheery. It has the look and feel of a 5-star luxury hotel, with all the amenities to boot! But what makes MorningStar Pasadena truly exceptional is the team. Everyone we have met from the MorningStar Pasadena team has been exceptionally kind and caring. They are all guided by the same mission - to care for their residents with respect, thoughtfulness, utmost caring, positive energy, RADIANCE, and most of all, LOVE! Since we were moving our Uncle from Central CA to SoCal to be near family, we were of course concerned about the adjustment period of his going from a home of over 30 years to a community. But our fears were laid to rest as the MorningStar of Pasadena team went above and beyond to ensure that the on-boarding process went smoothly. Always wanting the best for our Uncle, we had many questions and requests and the team exceeded our expectations -- always with a smile, quick response, and a "can do!" spirit. Instead of a "Senior Living" Community, they should rebrand as a "Senior LOVING" Community, as they pour LOVE into everything they do! A heartfelt thank you to Kevin, Sandie, Alexis, Rhonda, Mariah, JC, Cesar, Benjamin, Graciela, Tony, Sheila, Jazmin, Tanya, Joseph, Jazz, Karla, Jasmine, Vanessa, Narine, and the entire team for taking amazing care of our Uncle and making him feel so welcome! As a MorningStar of Pasadena resident, our Uncle is happy and thriving, making new friends, taking exercise classes daily, and participating in many activities. 7/30/2022 - Toured the MorningStar Senior Living with my uncle this afternoon under the director of community relationship, Sandie, who acts very professional and informative. We are all impressed with this 5-star luxurious senior living residences. Its hallway with elegant lighting looks like The Ritz-Carlton. The tendrous and tasting Grilled Mahi Mahi is one of the best - Only a highly skilled chef can make it - you can't find it easily in many restaurants. It is worth mentioning that you can clearly see the Huntington Hospital from a balcony (only 0.6 miles away from the MorningStar)

This place is amazing! I brought my in-laws for a tour a few weeks ago and they absolutely loved it. Our guide, Demetrius, was so informative & helpful. He really went above & beyond for us. Such a beautiful facility. Can't say enough good things about the place & the staff...definitely a 5 star experience.

Shout out to the wonderful caring staff here at Morningstar of Pasadena! Thank you for caring for my Mom who has been here for four years. The front desk staff, Sheila, Tony and Jazmin are so helpful handling all sorts of questions and support for residents and their families. Mary is in charge of housekeeping staff but also knows all the residents and makes herself available to help with what ever is needed. Norma is a nurse who has been a god send looking after my mom and the residents with 100 percent commitment to them. She truly cares. Rhonda Guzman in charge of wellness has been very helpful. Marissa in charge of assisted living is also caring and supportive. She is also in charge of Covid testing for all the residents and staff and is very organized in providing this service during this pandemic. Graciela is always cheery and efficient. The vibe here is respectful and thoughtful. Kevin Taliaferro the executive director is approachable and hands on seeing to all aspects of life for the residents and staff. Kevin walks his talk. Everyone who works here is patient and kind to the residents and families and each other.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Morningstar Pasadena for six months, which followed a very difficult year for her. Her new life at Morningstar has been wonderful in all aspects. Every member of the staff is compassionate, well-trained, & incredibly responsible. The daily activities at Morningstar are well thought-out & enjoyable for the residents. We could not be more pleased!

First I want to thank all the Essential Workers who have provided service and CARE to the residents at Morning Star Pasadena during the Covid-19 Pandemic. I especially want to thank the Morning Star management leadership team at MS Pasadena and their outstanding support staff. The safety standards that Morning Star Pasadena leadership team immediately implemented made MS Pasadena one of the safest places to be during the raging Pandemic. MS Pasadena was quick to secure testing and then vaccine doses for all MS residents and staff. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to know that my Mother, a MS Pasadena resident was living in the safest environment during the Pandemic. Kevin Taliaferro, the executive Director of MS Pasadena arranged for me to be able to stay at MS in one of the rooms they can provide for visiting family members who need accommodation. The room was provided with all the necessary comforts (Thank you Mary). The experience is made all the more enjoyable by the upbeat lively attitude of the MS support staff. Thanks for taking such great care of my Mom.

I just returned from a 4 day visit with my mom at MorningStar of Pasadena, the first since there was a change in ownership. Mom has lived at the senior living facility for almost 5 years. She’s always been happy there, and had told me things were even better under the new management. During my stay in one of their guest rooms, I had a chance to see for myself why she was so enthusiastic. After arriving I was greeted by Graciela, the longtime Business Manager who my mom always praised. The new Executive Director, Kevin, also contacted me to make sure everything was satisfactory. It was much more than that! The food was comparable to what you’d expect from a fine restaurant, no doubt a reflection of Kevin’s experience as a professional chef. The staff, which my mom always raved about, was exceptional “ warm, hard-working and professional. Jose, a waiter, and Cesar, the Maintenance Director, were especially helpful. The range of activities and entertainment is truly impressive. Residents are offered everything from exercise classes and Spanish lessons to feature films and Shabbat services. The highlight was a concert by Robin and Norm, an exceptionally talented musical duo. I left MorningStar feeling that there couldn’t be a better place for my mom to live.
