I want to share our excellent experience with Aegis Living in Moraga, especially our time spent with marketing director, Stephanie Eukel. We began our journey when we realised my mother-in-law was running out of money and could no longer afford her present assisted living situation. We reached out to Aegis Living in Moraga for some general information and met Stephanie who talked us through the possible living scenarios available at Aegis. We found them to be affordable and available within our time frame so my husband and I arranged a tour of the facility and met Stephanie in person. She gave us a full tour of the grounds, rooms and restaurant and then sat down and answered our many questions. We found her knowledge about elder care and her wisdom about family dynamics to be most helpful. With this super first impression fresh in our minds we told my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law all about Aegis, started the paperwork and arranged a visit for the four of us. The day of the visit, my mother-in-law, being 98 and not used to change, was understandably anxious. But all the staff were welcoming and friendly and Stephanie put her right at ease. We had a wonderful visit that included a tour and lunch where the chef came out to speak with us personally and who cooked something special for my mother-in-law. The food was excellent. By the time we left (three and a half hours later!) we were all satisfied that Aegis was a great option for my mother-in-law's new home. Stephanie had treated us royally and given us so much of her time. We will be forever grateful to her and Aegis for showing us how great a well run assisted living facility can be. Thank you to all! Great place for our loved ones! As an outside agency service provider, I have seen a lot of assisted living communities. Specifically communities that incorporate memory care. The Team at Aegis is beyond amazing. From their compassionate care staff and nurses to the amazing food their chef makes, this is definitely where I would want to be. The residents are always happy and that can be contributed to the care that they receive. Great location, gorgeous community inside and out and great care for assisted living and memory care residents.

My mother is well taken care of by the entire staff and magnagement of Aegis Moraga. The staff are kind, patient and helpful with her in the memory care unit. She is very happy and feels at home at Aegis. I am so glad that she lives there. I do not have to worry about her. I know she is safe in thier care.

After a very active business and physical exercise regime for nearly 78 years, my wife started exhibiting early signs of Dementia/Alzheimer's. During a year of home care with doctor's advise it was time to find an assisted care facility that also handled memory care. We found AEGIS in Moraga in June 2020 and with the outstanding personal attention from Molly Gleason-Kodama, Marketing Director and Blanca Hurtado, Health Services Director we decided to move my wife to AEGIS. The first six months required delicate medical care from Dr. Michelle Dhanak, a specialist in Geriatrics medications to control the agitation and behavioral issues, because of the advanced progression of Alzheimer's. After the first year, my wife became adjusted to her medication and new environment. She is very happy and hopefully will enjoy her time remaining.

Our Mom got COVID and while she already had cognitive challenges, everything got worse. She couldnt live on her own any more. Then we found Molly and her amazing staff. They made the difficult transition as easy as it could be. My brother and I are both physicians and have taken care of dozens of COVID patients so we know personally how devastating this is on families. Molly walked us through the process and has been amazingly available every step of the way. I cant say enough....

We moved my father-in-law into Aegis in October of 2018. It was a sudden and unsettling move for him and the staff at Aegis could not have been more helpful with all of the adjustments needed. As others have mentioned, moving into assisted living/memory care can be a very difficult decision/transition for both the patient and the family and it is not a "one size fits all" solution. My father-in-law's care plan took a great deal of "tweaking" until things were stable (for now!) and the entire staff at Aegis, from the housekeeping, aides, food service, maintenance, front desk, activities, nurses, management, etc..., have all been incredibly helpful and accommodating to his situation. When we realized that he needed more one on one care, Aegis was very helpful in recommending agencies that could provide private aides to come in and assist. The combination has been very successful. The staff @ Aegis all address him by name and he loves taking part in the social activities, especially anything involving exercise, music and dancing! Taking care of someone with severe dementia is no easy task and we are so grateful that this facility is right down the street, making it so convenient to visit often and to give us peace of mind on the days that we cannot be there. Clear communication and patience have been key factors in our experience and management has always been willing to sit down with us to discuss any of our concerns. My father in law feels very safe, comfortable and cared for and that's the best we can ask for at this point.
