The Wellington only seems to get doing duties when somebody is around. I think my dad sleeps in his clothes on top of his made bed. Shower stall always dry. No order to room cleaning protocol. My dad shouldn't have to smell urine all day. Just get it done, for others noses. Questionable about former dietary space in dining room , door shut, blinds down. , was told this is where rec therepy is ?, what with former arts and craft room is now a lunch room for the employees packed. All I needed was a sharpy to mark Richards new shoes with his initials. Give these clients in the memory unit more help by stimulation , not just there to pass away. Clean their room , they can't. ! I see no empathy shown. It's obvious there is a problem , and I don't like seeing the clients feel the repercussions from it.

My mom has been at The Wellington for 4 1/2 years. There have been times when certain employees took excellent care of my mom. Unfortunately the turnover of employees in this facility is frequent and now they are hiring thieves and people who would rather take their break than help those who need assistance with transfers, dressing, and toileting. They choose to come when they want and do not maintain the rule of answering a residents call for help within the required 10 minutes. If you have patient care {name removed] and [name removed], be prepared for disaster. These two women are rude, nasty and uncaring in helping patients with their required needs which we pay for. They take breaks and refuse to leave their break when they receive a call from a resident who needs their assistance. Also, sometime on 5/25-5/26 my mom had her 24K gold bracelet stolen and even after filing a grievance report with administrators of the building nothing has been done. I strongly suggest that if your loved one requires assistance from staff (that you will be paying for) then find another place. This isn't going to meet your expectations.

Difficult to get personnel to call you back. Stuck my mother with a "pyscho" roommate who yelled & cursed at my moms visitors. Having a difficult time getting a phone line installed. Verizon says there is an active jack from a previous owner. Finally was able to get maintenance to call me back regarding this and he said the previous resident has "passed on". Verizon said cannot give me new service until the existing one is disconnected. I ended up getting a flip phone for my mom and will have to show her how to use it. Nothing has gone easy with moving my mom here. They kept changing her "move in dates". I would not recommend this senior living. "

My brother and sister-in-law reside at the Wellington assisted living. The staff is very friendly and tries to respond to residents needs. Issues: the food service is poor. Actually delivering food to the table that is on dished with frost on them. That just shows total lack of respect for residents. They turned the air conditioning on during a heat spell in May but when the weather turned cold at the end of May they did not turn the heat back on leaving the residents to be cold for 3 days. They claimed it was too big of a project to switch back to heat only to have to switch it back to air in a few days. I had the heat on in my house be cause it was cold and damp but these old and disabled folks have to remain in the cold because it's to much trouble to turn it on. These are shameful services from this Co. This is a follow up to my original post. This is how the heating to cooling works. There is always a delay. No one is at risk of being too cold. The staff is great at making sure the patients are safe and taking care of. I would change my rating to 4 stars.

keep looking. We scheduled a tour of the Wellington, arrived on time and were kept waiting at least 25 minutes before an employee met with and showed us apartments. They were knowledegable and pleasant. Because we liked the apartments we scheduled a second meeting with the Director of Marketing to get a breakdown of expenses and see any available apartments. We arrived early and were kept waiting over 40 minutes while staff attempted to contact the Director of Marketing. Finally, after 45 minutes we left.

We moved our parents from a large two family house, in a marginal neighborhood, to Wellington over 13 years ago. The safety, security and community at Wellington was truly a welcome change for them and gave us, their children, a great sense of relief.

I love the atmosphere here!! From the beginning with the great informative tour by Emma to the way everyone made my grandparents and I feel. The loved, care, respect and support that they give us is out of this world!! They make us feel apart of their family.

I have been a resident at The Gardens for 11 months. Having moved in at the beginning of the Covid quarantine I must say they have put much effort in keeping us safe and comfortable. Im assuming things will be even better once covid restrictions are lifted. Most important to me is as long as I remain independent I am not a burden on my family. This is where I call home. More people should consider this move while still in their mid 70s. Several of us have with no regrets.

I visited the facility for a tour and was impressed by the people and residents, all were very friendly. The facility was very clean, which I loved. Saw some residents participate in some activities and they all looked like they were enjoying themselves. Met the activity director and she was very pleasant and seemed like fun! She had a caring and patient attitude, which impressed me.

As a musical entertainer I have performed at many nursing homes and senior living facilities throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. Without a doubt The Wellington at Springfield is one of my favorites. The staff is friendly and courteous to the residents, visitors and each other. Each time I have been there I have felt like I was visiting a community rather then an institution. Seeing residents talking and laughing with each other and with staff is wonderful and heartwarming. If you are looking for a place for an elderly family member I would recommend visiting The Wellington.

Took a tour while looking for a new home for a family member. Place is lovely and housekeeping does a great job at keeping it clean. Residents seem happy and all staff that I saw interacting with residents were respectful and pleasant. Food was appealing. One of the things that stood out was the activities program where Pat and Jackie seem fully involved in keeping residents active and happy. I was amazed at the list of activities that residents can participate in! It certainly has been more difficult with Covid but when not in that situation, they have lots of musical entertainment, trips like the Forest Park Christmas lights, and numerous arts and crafts. While family member went to live with a relative, when my day comes I would be very happy to take up residence here!

My mom had stayed here prior to the change to The Wellington. She was there for several years. We found the staff to be very caring to my mom. The staff was also very kind to all of us family members. The activities were great, led by Pat Gelinas. She came up with great games, crafts and trips for all of the clients. Pat knew all of the clients by name. I noticed that she made them feel very special.

While visiting Keystone Woods we were greeted right away and with a smile. The staff genuinely care about what they do and how they present this to prospects. The grounds are well manicured and neat, there are plenty of places for residents to sit outside and walk around. The rooms are spacious and offer balconies if wanted. It is a warming environment.
