My 96-year-old mom moved into Otterbein-Marblehead assisted living about two months ago after a stint in rehab following a fall that broke her shoulder. She had previously been in Portland Place in Sandusky which was marvelous, but after her last fall was no longer viable for various reasons. What can I say other than I'm confident my mom is safe, well cared for, and as happy as a dementia patient can be. That's honestly all I need, but with Otterbein there is much more! The staff is very responsive to all concerns from the family. I've witnessed them interacting with my mom, and they are so much more than kind to her. Otterbein is clean and well cared for too. It's a pleasant place to hang out with my mom. That's important to me, because I feel good about it, and that translates to me feeling confident about how they treat my mom when I'm not around. The food from chef Frank is over the top. His care and concerns go far beyond just providing great food. He also looks for food styles that are easy to eat for residents who have difficulty cutting or eating. He also firmly believes that everyone should have choices in their lives and that includes options at mealtime. Add to everything else that Otterbein accepts Medicaid when and if that becomes necessary, and it's just perfect. As my mom said today, "This is a nice place. It's a nice room, a nice bed…and nice people!" I couldn't ask for more.

My husband spent months at Jane Baker skilled nursing facility for rehab after partial foot amputation. Everyone - the administration staff, social worker, nurses, aides, chef, physical therapists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, and transportation drivers, were outstanding in their expertise, professionalism, and genuine caring for residents AND resident's family. The food was well prepared and delicious. The individualized attention was exceptional, and I was relieved to know he was in a safe facility.

While we weren't able to get a bed here for the type of care my loved one needed, we had a fabulous experience with getting the tour and the follow up. The staff texted information, patiently explained processes including how different government programs work. Above and beyond, thank you Mollie & Sammy for being kindness during a difficult process of finding care for a loved one after a stroke.

Otterbein Marblehead provides my mom the ability to living safely, yet independently, have a social life, activities for her body and soul, and enjoy fabulous food with her new friends! At 90 years young, she wonders why she didn't move in 5 years ago. Our family could not be happier with Otterbein staff. They are attentive and caring and provide us and mom with a true sense of security.

Recently, I had the opportunity to spend the day at this campus. It was impeccably clean and everyone we encountered was friendly and professional. We had lunch while there and it was absolutely delicious! The patio homes are beautiful and the small house neighborhood is gorgeous! I look forward to another visit soon!

Otterbein Marblehead is a beautiful community in a beautiful location! The nursing care is 5/5, Assisted Living offers a lot of care options that aren't available in a traditional Assisted Living settings, and the Independent Living Apartments and Villas are beautiful! The team at Otterbein truly cares about making this community a truly wonderful place to live, recover, or retreat near Lake Erie!
