My mom has been at CSL for 7 months after living alone for 19 years since my dad passed away. She has been very happy there and has made many friends and has enjoyed the daily activities. The staff has been amazing to her and she has received excellent care. We feel very welcome when we visit and the staff and other residents have become like family. Mom has told others that CSL Abingdon is a good place to be if you aren’t able to stay at home. It has certainly been a good fit for her.

Would like to give a special shout-out to Lexi Worley, LPN/ARCD. Lexi is truly one of those special people who was meant to work in healthcare. Her compassion and genuine love for what she does are evident in the way she treats everyone she cares for. She doesn’t simply see people as patients or residents”she treats them like family. She takes the time to listen, show kindness, and make people feel cared for, respected, and important. It takes a very special heart to do this type of work, and Lexi definitely has one. Her dedication, compassion, and love for her job do not go unnoticed. Any family would be fortunate to have someone like Lexi caring for their loved one.

It was my first time visiting. The person at the check in desk was very nice and confirmed the room of the patient I was there to see. They told me how to get to the room and was very helpful. The facility itself was very clean and open and bright. The rooms are spacious and full of light. The nurse and staff acknowledged me, I believe she said her name was Alexis Tyler, I was satisfied with the amount of care they have been giving to the patient I was there to see.

I visit Commonwealth Senior living with my church every month. We have services at the memory care section. It is always very clean and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Our church goes once a month to have a church service with the residents. All the staff are very nice and are so good with the residents, especially Britney, she is so sweet and bubbly and the residents really seem to enjoy her energy! We go to be a blessing to them, but they are even more of a blessing to us!

Every time I have visited Commonwealth Senior living in Abingdon it is clean and neat. The residents seem to be happy and well looked after. Staff seems caring and patient. One of the workers, Britney Cox always has a smile on her face and the residents love her. She is always so gentle and helpful with them. My dad has been a resident there for about a year and a half. He has received excellent care and he is exceptionally happy there. Every staff member we have encountered has been unbelievably caring and responsive and it gives us peace of mind to know that such a group is helping care for him. The staff has generally been caring, professional, and attentive to her needs. Over the years, we've appreciated the kindness shown to her my many caregivers and team members. I can honestly say that this facility gives me so much peace of mind knowing the excellent care and support my family member is receiving. My family member is in the Memory Care unit and having a staff that understands the complexity of a person dealing with dementia or other memory disorders as well as the support the family receives is a true blessing. My dad has been a resident of Commonwealth for two months. During the brief time he has been there, my husband and I have already seen such an improvement in him. My mother, his beloved wife of almost 75 years, unexpectedly passed away in November. Our entire family has grieved her loss, but my sweet dad has been absolutely devastated. The week following her death, he fell and sustained severe injuries. He was in a rehab center for several months, and during his stay there he wouldn't leave his room. He ate all of his meals in the room. Understandably, he was quite depressed. Following his transfer to Commonwealth, we noticed an improvement in him “ physically and emotionally. He knows many of the other residents, and has been encouraged by the staff to eat in the dining room and to join the many activities and classes offered at CSL. As a result, he began leaving his room more frequently and interacting with everyone there. His daily exercise classes and activities have given him something to look forward to each day. He will always grieve the loss of my mother, but we are encouraged that his state of mind has greatly improved. The social interaction has been integral in that improvement. He smiles and laughs again. He is physically stronger. He has nothing but positive things to say about everyone who works there. Anytime there is a question or concern, from him or our family, it is taken care of right away. The entire staff works tirelessly to ensure that my dad - and every other resident there - feels safe, respected, and loved. Our family is kept informed of Dad’s health and well-being on a regular basis, and any concerns we have are always addressed in a timely manner. We live out of town, so it gives us great peace of mind to know that he is safe and cared for at Commonwealth. I highly recommend Commonwealth Senior Living!

After a long journey of attempting to care for my dad at home, we finally made the decision to seek placement after getting his diagnosis of Alzheimers/Dementia. One of the hardest things that I have ever had to do but I am forever grateful for Commonwealth and all of their staff. From day one, my family and I have been treated with the utmost care, kindness and respect. Their staff has been so supportive in this entire journey. My dad is in the best hands and its apparent how much they love and care for him. The staff is attentive and notifies me anytime there are changes or concerns that I need to be made aware of. They listen to our concerns and formulte the best plan to ensure dad's care while honoring his dignity and respect. I highly recommend this facility!

Always a pleasant place to visit. My mom moved to CSL from SC at the end of February 2022. She absolutely loves CSL. Just ask her when you visit and she will tell you how much she loves it. Just a few team members I’d like to send a shout to include: Chastity, Corey, Jessica, Hannah, Jeanette, John, Olivia, Tina, Lilly, Dr. Daniel. Honestly, everyone there I’ve encountered have been the most supportive and caring of the residents there. As my mom says, People make the place. There are great people here.

Mom had needed assistance making it to doctor’s appointments and taking her medications properly for quite a while, but was too independent to accept help. After a severe ischemic incident we no longer had the choice to allow her to remain at home. Olivia helped me complete all the paperwork and get her moved from the hospital in record time. She is the healthiest she has been in years now that she is getting regular meals and medication. Every single staff member I have met is dedicated to keeping residents healthy and happy. I am amazed at their patience and encouragement with the resident as well as family members with so many questions as we navigate a new phase of life.

The problems with Bobby Sue are her hands; therefore when she drops something she usually doesn’t realize it. Drops two or three things and room gets messy. And her commode is usually a mess. Hope we can get that sorted out. But the ladies do a really good job considering. And we like Commonwealth really good and appreciate every one there. Thanks!

Other than the smell of urine that hit you in the face as soon as you walked in, it was very clean, and the staff were super friendly, as well as the residents. It was a Sunday so the cleaning staff was not on duty. This was the second time I visited, so I knew this oder was not a common occurrence.

Our mother moved to CSL this summer & has adjusted very well. It is such a relief to know that all of her needs are being met by such wonderful people. We especially appreciate Teresa for keeping the Memory Care Unit a lively and energetic place. Mom has made new friends & enjoys being there. Kem is great at setting up little art groups, & Brenda is especially helpful in many ways. The young lady that manages medication (Miranda or Melinda?) is wonderful as well. We appreciate everything!!

Our dad moved into Commonwealth in July and has been so happy there. From the moment he arrived they have treated him as one of the family. We especially love the monthly Family Night events! They take great care not only of the residents but they also take pride in the way the facility looks - in the words of our dad "it's like a 5 star hotel"!
