Reviews Walden Place
May 2026
Walden is terrific! The folks who work there are so kind and my parent absolutely loves it there. This was a very happy surprise, we were not expecting this transition to go well but Walden proved us wrong. Communication with family members is excellent. Everything about our family’s experience with Walden has exceeded expectations. Thank you!

My father moved to Walden Place in August. Like many people in his situation, my father was very resistant to the idea of moving to an assisted living community. Despite his initial skepticism, however, my father quickly settled into the community. In fact, my father recently acknowledged that he is thriving at Walden and enjoying the social engagement, wonderful meals, daily activities, and 24/7 support. The staff at Walden is truly exceptional. They are kind, caring, and professional. Walden offers a very welcoming community for both its residents and their families. At this point, I have spent a significant amount of time visiting my father -- so I have had ample opportunity to assess the quality of Walden and its services. Having said that, I feel comfortable recommending Walden to families that are looking for an outstanding assisted living residence for their loved ones.

I remember my stepdads mother was moved here back in 2005 when she had Dementia when she couldn’t live on her own anymore but then one this place couldn’t take her anymore when she got worse.
October 2023
Making the decision to put my mom in a memory care facility was an incredibly difficult choice and one I never thought I would have to make. When my mom was accepted into Walden place in the memory care unit, it seemed like the right choice at the time. After a few months my moms dementia seemed to worsen, especially her sundowning and her confusion. The management staff would call me multiple times a week to complain about her and my mom had multiple falls from aids not properly assisting her. One of which resulted in my mom fracturing her pelvis. I will say, there were a few aids that were experienced and regulars there were really kind to my mom and I. I normally don’t write negative reviews but I know how hard this decision is to make. The management staff here has a huge lack of understanding of dementia and they do not treat your loved ones with dignity as this disease progresses. All in all, I ended up moving my mom to a new facility. The day before we were set to move in, I was told that the Executive Director himself called the owner of the new facility and tried to talk her out of accepting my mom. I couldn’t believe someone would try to stop her from getting the care she deserved and needed. I’m thankful that my mom is all settled into her new place now and she is the clearest I have seen her in over a year. She is so happy!! While I know there is no cure for dementia, her quality of life is the most important thing to me. If you’re considering Walden place, I’m sure the assisted living portion is fine. However, if you have a family member with dementia or Alzheimer’s I would sincerely recommend finding somewhere else.
