To whomever it concerns: I went in to visit my friend, Danny Conant, who is in the “assistant” living section of Fox Hill retirement Center, Room 767. Danny owns an apartment/condo on the 6th floor and has lived there for over 15 years. Her health is failing and she is now temporarily in the “assistant-living” section of the complex on the 7th floor—Room 767. Myself and another friend had a date cleared for visiting Danny on the 19 of August. We had cleared it with her caregiver and with Danny. We arrive on the 19th and was told we had to go to the “assisted living” receptionist on the second floor and get a “pass” to go up to the 7th floor where Danny was living temporarily. At the receptionist desk I was asked to leave my “driver’s license” at the receptionist desk and she gave me a visitor’s pass to go up. She told me they did this to make sure the residence were safe and everyone was checked-in to visit their family and friends who resided there. We get to Danny room and knocked…no answer so I tried the door, which was unlock and called in to Danny….no answer as she was not there. We walked the halls search for her or for her caregiver….nobody in sight. We called down to the receptionist on the 4th floor and they did not know where she was and said that they had no way of finding her. We were told to find the floor manager on the 7th floor. We found her and she did not know where Danny was either! I called Danny several times with no answer, I called her care-given and no answer, I left several messages with both. After about 20 minutes, I got a call from her son, Bill, telling me that she was taken by ambulance to Sibling hospital on the 18th with stomach problems and he apologized for not calling me to tell me not to come that day. But with all the anxiety about getting his mom to the hospital that was understandable, plus the fact we are not family but friends. My friend Danny is 96 next month. But the real concern was that the Fox Hill Assistant Living wing had NO idea of where Danny was! No record of her being picked up by ambulance and taken to Sibley hospital. NO IDEA of where she was at all !!! So much for their security! They made sure we had passes and were safe to visit the 7th floor, but no idea that Danny was not in her room or even in the building! Wouldn’t you think at the Assistant Living Receptionist Desk they would have had a note or a message on file that Danny was taken to the hospital by ambulance on the 18th and was not in her room! Aside from the fact this complex outrageously expensive--- This experience doesn’t give me any confidence in their security or their “care-ing” about their patients— as apparently they don’t have either. My experience has been top noch. I came here straight from multiple hour cervical back surgery that left me a quadriplegic permanently in need of a wheelchair and a health aide. In the five years that I’ve lived at Fox Hill I am now an active member of our community partaking of many of the opportunities that are offered to residents and am finding retirement as a disabled senior to be a very satisfying time of life.

Fox Hill is a superbly run community that feels like home for my mom. I visit frequently, and I have seen for myself how the staff of all facets provides top notch care. The dining staff are prompt and respectful. The food is healthy and tasty, and the special events such as the monthly brunch are truly exceptional. The care team are simply angels on earth - it is a tough job yet somehow they always manage to take care of the residents with professionalism, empathy, and even a sense of humor. The same goes for the activities coordinators, who plan a never ending itinerary of exciting activities and performance guests. The nursing team is extremely professional as well, and I know that not even the slightest detail is overlooked. Countless times I have seen a staff member take the time to really engage with the residents, whether it is a shared joke, a needed hug, or just listening to stories. I highly recommend Fox Hill.

I have a client who lives in here. I’ve been telling everybody how wonderful the staff inside the building is and how wonderful they have restaurants and everything but I came out today. this with the sticker on my window it was from their security company which I’m going to say very low class to do this to a vehicle. It’s fine leaving a parking ticket on someone’s car. It can go under the windshield. It doesn’t need to be stuck to the windshield. Unbelievable.

My parents moved in to Foxhill 7 years ago and it was the best thing we ever did for them. The ease of moving around the facility, the ability to eat at delicious & convenient restaurants, and the availability of fun/interesting events, were all factors in our decision to make the move. And we were not disapplointed. The staff is amazing and we would highly recommend this option for people considering a retirement community.

Fox Hill is an amazing place to live. Restaurant superb, all the staff are very helpful. A great place to be during the coronavirus emergency. No deaths here. Only one resident was affected. Nice grounds to walk around. They are really doing their best to create a great life for us within the midst of a pandemic.
