My brother has become a recent resident of Elder Care Cottages in Waterford. About 10 months ago my brother literally ended up homeless. During that time he ended up at the Salvation Army and then was taken by ambulance to the hospital for a medical emergency. During that time the Salvation Army threw out all his belongings including his eye glasses AND wallet with all his personal forms of identification. Totally inexcusable if you ask me. After being discharged from the hospital he was placed in Aria Nursing Home in Waukesha for some recovery. I looked forward to the day he would leave that poor excuse for a nursing home as the level of care was akin to being homeless. Fortunately he was placed at Elder Care Cottages and he has recovered nicely. Warm bed to sleep in, three meals a day, medical care, numerous activities he has learned to partake in. Without Elder Care Cottages we are convinced he would be living under a bridge somewhere. It may not be what everyone in this world would want for themselves, but we know he is safe and taken care of.

My mother in law was here in the memory care cottage. We loved the care and attention given to each individual at ElderCare Cottages. Plenty of activities that everyone that can, is encouraged to participate in. Whenever there was an issue, they communicated with us right away. When she passed away recently, staff came in late at night to be with us and they had a hospice nurse that sat with her in a private room while they waited for us to arrive and until she was taken by the funeral home. They were very caring and understanding throughout her time there. This place was much better than any other assisted living/memory care facilities she was at.

My mother in law moved here recently. My husband and I can not say enough about how great this place is. In just 2 months we feel like we are all family. She is happy and relaxed. She is always involved in the daily activities (which are awesome). We are so happy we chose Elder Cottages.

Elder Care Cottages has allowed my mother to be the very best she can be in this season of her life. The day-to-day caregivers are dedicated, hardworking, sensitive and willing to adapt to the individual needs of their residents. It wasnt easy to find a facility that accepted Family Care Medicaid funding without first being private pay for years. Another feature that was not available at other facilities was the secure locked buildings. This works both ways, to keep residents safe from wandering and for staff to be aware of who is visiting. We always feel welcome. It is truly a home for the residents and families as well. The residents rooms are bright and clean and can be decorated to suit each person. The new Community Room was wonderful for our family to use recently to celebrate a birthday without having to take Mom somewhere that would not be familiar to her. We were able to use the kitchen and bring in our own homemade food. There were tables and chairs in a beautiful, comfortable setting. Even a big screen TV that we could play music on! This room is also used for music programs and other special occasion group activities that the dedicated activity director organizes. My father lives across the driveway in the Fields of Waterford independent apartments and this makes it very safe and convenient for him to visit Mom. The residents of the apartments are also invited for special programs. My parents enjoy these very much and it gives them a place to participate in an activity together. I would highly recommend Elder Care Cottages for assisted living and memory care needs.

My siblings and I cannot believe the incredible change we have seen in our father in such a short time since hes been at the Elder Care Cottages, specifically the Rosewood Cottage. Our father struggles with Alzheimers and this is the happiest hes been in a very long time. He is now talking, very animated and engaged in conversation with all of us. He was clean, shaven and just so happy. He was so excited to tell us about the nice girls helping him and the wonderful food he ate. He also had a new friend sitting with us which was so wonderful to see him actually socializing and making friends. We all feel truly blessed that this is where Dad will finish this great journey of life. The staff was unbelievably warm, caring and clearly well trained on taking care of Alzheimer and Dementia patients. The cottage was brand new looking, so clean and a wonderful open concept family living space, truly impressive. If I could give this place 10 stars, it still wouldnt be enough. Thank you to the wonderful staff here for taking such great care of our Dad and all of the residents in your care. My siblings and I can now relax knowing our Father is safe and getting the level of care he needs for his Alzheimers. Thank you so much ??

My Dad, with dementia, lived at Eldercare Cottages this summer until he passed on. The facility is recently built, clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly, caring, concerned, and responsive to Dad's needs. Dad seemed happy to be there. The staff kept me informed of issues as Dad's health declined. I'am grateful to everyone at Eldercare Cottages for their care of Dad.

When our parents were ready to be cared for by assisted living we looked high and low for the right fit. We were so happy to visit Eldercare cottages. First as you can tell by there name it is centered around cottage living, a small home like atmosphere with very personalized attention. It is located in beautiful peaceful surroundings. Functions are held in the central community room with large kitchen in each cottage. Meals are all home cooked by a chef that prepares the most delicious food. We are always impressed by the wonderful meals that are being served three times a day. Residents and staff all eat at one main dining table. The staff is caring, compassionate and are always available to talk to regarding any concerns. Each resident has a nice sun lit room and private bathroom. The decor of the season is always represented in each cottage and the residents enjoy craft time, exercise, celebrations, etc. together. Outdoor patios are also available to use on nice days. The cottages are well maintained and the locked security is comforting to all. What makes Eldercare special is that it is not your typical large home where there is lack of personal attention and most times communication with the staff is hard due to the large facility. It is the best second family that our loved ones could have. Our sincere appreciation to Eldercare cottages.

The staff at Elder Care Cottages was always helpful, patient and kind. They were also very responsive to requests for information and assistance. The cottages themselves are clean and well-designed. The residents were given individual attention. I can't recommend them too highly.

I have had the opportunity to volunteer at Elder Care cottages several times. I love it there. The thing that separates them from others, is the open concept. The long community table dinning table is right next to the open kitchen, opening living room area. Everyone can see and is near everyone else. Talking, chatting.....at the same time. Activities was a highlight, fun easy projects...As caregivers walk through the area, they stop, say hi, hug....no separate rooms to go to, love it, love the people there.
