I moved into New Life assisted-living in July 20 20. I was transitioning from an assisted living facility that did not meet my needs. At New Life, I am surrounded by loving caregivers. They have taken the time to get to know me personally. They remember my likes and dislikes! The leadership ensures that the needs of the house are taken care of! Special requests for food and drinks are made available! The leadership ensures that the caregivers are also taken care of on a business level! The leadership ensures that there are team meetings so that everyone has the information that they need to provide the residents with the best care possible. I feel comfortable living at New Life. My family also feels comfortable with me being here! They know that New Life is taking good care of me!

We had a wonderful experience at New Life Assisted Living. My Dad had been there for four years. The meals are great, my dad received a lot of attention. We celebrated all the holidays. The door was always open for visits. My dad was well cared for, always clean, they gave him his favorite candy, and dessert. They will care for your loved one!

This is a beautiful home and all the staff is so pleasant. I truly am so happy knowing my loved one is treated like family. I would highly recommend this family owned assistant living to every one that is looking for a place for there loved one ❤

I strongly recommend New Life if youre looking for an affordable group home environment where your loved one will be treated with respect and quality care. If youre reading this review, it means youre looking for assisted living, and youve probably already looked at the larger institutional settings and you either werent comfortable with them or couldnt afford them or both. I was there 5 years ago. My heart goes out to you because you are facing an extremely difficult task. Youre scared, frustrated, and sad all at the same time. Lets talk about how my family ended up having our prayers answered at New Life. Six years ago, my mother, Mary (then 87), had a series of mini-strokes. She began to notice changes in her memory and balance. Eventually, we couldnt deny it; it wasnt safe for my mother to live independently any longer. We considered having her stay with each of her 3 adult children, but as she continued to decline it became clear she needed 24 hour professional care from very patient, loving people. We sought out information sources on the web, social service organizations, veterans groups, and websites that help you find assisted living. In the meantime she stayed with me and my family. Looking for care, evaluating facilities, interviewing owners and staff while trying to figure out how to pay for it became a second full time job for my sister and I. We evaluated many places, but couldnt find anything we felt comfortable with, that we could afford, and had an opening for us. I was near despair and one night I got on my knees and prayed for the Lord to make a way for my mother, his loyal servant. We got a link to New Life the next day and we met with Dianne and Alvin and it seemed like it might be the answer for us. We signed paperwork for her to come to New Life. But before she could move in, she was hospitalized. And thats when the wheels came off the bus...In a completely unfamiliar environment my mother began experiencing hospital psychosis - she wanted to fight all the staff physically! Hospitals often are not familiar with how to treat dementia patients and they gave her medications that made her behaviors significantly worse. My kind, sensitive, caring mother was now just a person theyd strapped down to the bed to keep from scratching and gouging the nurses and the security guards. Even worse, somehow my mother lost the ability to walk under her own power. We told Miss Dianne (who has a nursing background) the situation and she immediately came to the hospital to address what was going on. She came to my mothers rescue, liberated her from the hospital and took her to New Life before any more damage could be done. And from that time until my mother passed, Miss Dianne, Alvin, Pilar and the staff at New Life treated my mother like she was a cherished member of their family. She was appreciated, respected and loved there. Nothing is perfect. You have to be involved and aware, but at New Life they always worked hard to try to uphold high standards for the staff, they listened to the familys concerns and addressed them, and they paid attention to the needs of the clients (physically, emotionally and spiritually). They gave us time to develop a financing strategy. Even during COVID19 they found ways to allow us to stay in contact with my mother virtually. I have lived 61 years and I have regrets in life (e.g. shouldnt have bought that timeshare), but choosing New Life isnt one of them. My prayers were answered. I feel certain my mother appreciated the care she received there. Darryl Howard Columbia Md.

My Little Paradise at New Life Assisted Living in Brookeville, MD is a very simple home set in scenic surroundings with a great deal of love and care. It was truly an answer to my prayers. I was in search of a small quiet facility for my father who was suffering from late stages of dementia. He had been in respite care at a large facility that was overwhelming and provided subpar care for a substantial price. After an extensive and frustrating search and many tours later, I found the place for my father. It was perfect! It was quiet, not overwhelming, safe, peaceful, more affordable, and welcoming. Alvin Thomas, CEO was wonderful, he spent about two hours with me sharing the inception story of New Life Assisted Living, answered the myriad of questions I had, and offered his assistance to help me navigate through the daunting process. A few weeks later, I was looking for a place for my mother who was being released from a nursing home rehab facility with terminal cancer. Fortunate for me, the timing was perfect, the room next to my father was becoming available. Again, an answer to prayer. Witnessing the care and attention my father was receiving made the decision that much easier to place my mother at New Life Assisted Living as well. As an only child who was forced to find care for both parents in a relatively short period of time, the process was extremely stressful, emotional and taxing. Nevertheless, the wonderful care and dignity shown to my parents by the caregivers and Alvin far exceeded my expectations. Even the feedback I received from the hospice nurse visiting my parents was refreshing. She stated, the house may not be fancy, but the love and attention the caregivers show towards your parents sure makes up for it. They truly are wonderful. Hearing those words was priceless. It provided an inner peace and validated my decision to place them both there. Unfortunately, my parents stay at New Life was short-lived and they both have since passed. Nonetheless, I can say, it was the next best place for them to be other than home. I am forever grateful to Alvin Thomas and the caregivers at New Life and know that I will always be considered part of the New Life Assisted Living ‘family. In turn, they will always have a treasured spot in my heart.

My former husband was a resident at New Life Assisted Living. When I was told we had to find 24 hour care for him, I was given several facilities from the hospital. I never contacted any of those, however, I prayed and started searching on my own. I cant across NLAL, I called spoke to a lady for nearly 1 hour before learning she was one of the owners. TJ became a resident the same day and was given the absolute best care for 2 years until his passing. If there was ever anything he needed and they couldnt provide it, they always and I mean always helped my daughter and I secure what ever the need was. They were alway professional in their dealings with us. Their staff members treated my loved one like their own! The facilities were always fresh and clean and I never had a problem with receiving return calls. If there was ever a time that I considered anything to be a problem, they were always on the spot to correct whatever I needed done for TJ. NLAL is top notch in my book and I wouldnt hesitate to have them care for me or any of my loved ones.

A truly great home and family environment for my Dad!

We moved my mom from a large Alzheimers facility to this small facility with only 5 residents. Instantly I liked Alvin and his mom who own and run the home. Alvin responds immediately when we have questions or concerns. He tries to find new ways and ideas to help her to continue to live with Alzheimers. I feel like they truelly love and care about our mom. Thank you so much for allowing us to know she is in good hands and we can sleep at night!

Visited their Elkridge home and Jessup home. My daughter and I found the owners to be nice. And liked the activities for the seniors. Jessup home mom would have a private room but a little to much money for us. Elkridge I didn't care for at all. To many steps, to many people for one shower which was downstairs. Powder room upstairs. No deck and not much outside space for mom to be outside.
