Everyone is so kind, caring and helpful at Sunnyvale Sunrise from above the line to below the line. My Mother loves the food and enjoys the activities and the friendships she’s developed. Highly recommend. The staff is sensitive to all the needs of both the resident and their families and are easy to communicate with!

Mae and her team were absolutely amazing and they took the time to help me through a traumatic situation with my father. He received the care and support he needed in order to comeback to his family. Spencer at the front desk was simply excellent and helpful. Mae provided me with tremendous advice about how to navigate through this process and situation. It was extremely helpful informative and with a personal touch that left me with a feeling of gratitude.

My mother has been here since April. The care managers are very sweet and she truly trusts them. Food is delicious, the facility is always clean, and the staff is very open to suggestions for new, engaging activities to bring to the community - they started a knitting club when they heard my mom liked to knit.

My husband has been a resident of Sunrise assisted-living for the past year. He is very happy there and I am delighted that it is working out so well. In the past I have noted that the wellness center does exceptional work. Luisa, the nurses and med-techs perform their duties on a consistent and always professional basis. It is now that I would like to acknowledge another area, led by LJ Smith, and her staff, including Myra and Roger. LJ is the activities coordinator She has helped in so many areas, including solving the problems of obtaining transportation to get my husband to his doctor appointments. My husband is disabled and I need help physically to get him somewhere. LJ has a thorough knowledge of relevant policies and procedures to help solve my problems. LJ is sought out by many for advice, comfort and problem resolution both by employees and residents. Sunrise is lucky to have her for the various areas her job encompasses. A real plus for all residents!

The community at Sunrise of Sunnyvale is clean, comfortable, and very home like. Activities are always engaging and the residents look so happy (thank you Activities Director LJ- you always bring sunshine and smiles to all of us)! So refreshing to see vibrant residents that are well cared for (nurse Luisa does a fantastic job of this for sure). ED Beena is very thoughtful and you can tell she has such a big heart for seniors. We brought our elderly person here from an assisted living place in Los Altos. From day one our experience and quality of care, was far superior than our other experiences. Our mother has been a resident at Sunrise of Sunnyvale since 2018 and she is thriving there. The community is just that, a community. The entire staff from the Executive Director, Wellness Nurses, Caregivers, Sales & Office Management and last but not least the incredible Food and Beverage Group are all dedicated to providing exceptional care and insuring our mother's health and well being. They have great social programs, including monthly/holiday brunches, music, exercise, current events and much more. It is a comfort having our mom at Sunrise of Sunnyvale knowing that she is in such good hands.

I volunteered at Sunrise of Sunnyvale during the summer and my favorite thing to do was calling bingo and just interacting with all of the residents in general! When I was volunteering, the residents always seemed to be busy and happy. Everyone there was always very friendly to me. I would recommend any of my friends to volunteer at Sunrise of Sunnyvale.

Sunrise of Sunnyvale is an ideal place for seniors for independent living as well as those requiring care givers services or memory care. The facility has multicultural residents as well as Centurians. LJ Smith, Director activities coordinates daily exercises, Bingo games, musicians on every Friday and on special occasions like Christmas, Thanksgiving. She also coordinates visits by children of local schools on the occasion of Christmas, Halloween, Chinese new year etc. she also coordinates transportation for residents for Doctor visits and local facilities. A sibling currently lives at Sunrise and prior to this both of my parents. The community is amazing- the staff is wonderful and has excellent communication with residents and family. There’s always activities to do, along with a great dining room and a fabulous menu. I sometimes join my sibling there for weekend brunch or holiday meals. In addition I love that they have nurses there if needed and medication management for both independent living and assisted living. Sunrise of Sunnyvale is centrally located - minutes to stores, El Camino Hospital, Palo Alto Medical Foundation and about 20 minutes drive to the Palo Alto VA. I highly recommend Sunrise and my family has had relatives living there for over 3 years.

Our Mom's lived at Sunrise-Sunnyvale a couple years while all her kids live out of the area / out of state, so communication is important. The Sunrise Team does a great job so it is reassuring between visits to know mom's needs are met and she is happy. Kudos to the Wellness Team, and extra kudos to Activities Team Members LJ and Roger for keeping everyone smiling, even during the sometimes challenging periods.

I enjoy the nice balance I get to either socialize in the lobby or have alone time in my room. I get my daily walks in a nice urban / suburban neighborhood. I like the activities such as news talk that allows us to have discussions and express everybody's opinions. Old folks have a lot to say!

Luisa and Silva are also great to work with. Every staff member I have met when visiting are always helpful & kind. Julie at the front desk is always happy & professional. Love her! My sister and I are so grateful for the care our loved one has received at Sunrise. It is great to know that she is safe and her physical needs are met, but also that she is part of a family there. The staff are kind and attentive to her. They invite and encourage her participation in activities. She has made friends with other residents and is enjoying the socializing. Can't say enough about the loving and dedicated care my mom receives at Sunrise of Sunnyvale. My mom was in the assisted living community before moving to the memory care community. Both communities feel like home. The staff is responsive to any questions or concerns and are professional and knowledgeable.

We're so pleased with Sunrise. The assisted living area feels bright and upbeat and the memory care area has a very homey, family feel. The care-givers are attentive, patient and cheerful with all the residents, and the administrative staff has been extremely caring and responsive from the start. I'll sometimes have lunch with my mom and can also attest that the meals are wonderful too 🙂

I want to say I am beyond impressed with Sunrise and their staff especially Jann. He was welcoming and very professional. He was very thorough and answered all of my questions and concerns during our tour. He’s understanding and patient with any questions I had during our tour whether it was pertaining to care, activities, meals etc. Jann was knowledgeable and walked me through the process from start to finish. It is safe to say that if and when my grandpa decides it’s time to come here I know he will be in great hands with this nursing facility.

Jann provided me a tour while I was looking for a short stay for my mom after her short stay at a skilled nursing facility. He was very resourceful in regards of providing me next steps planning and giving me an overall view of what Sunrise offers. Although my mom ultimately went home I would definitely recommend Sunrise

I am a musician and have been playing at Sunrise Sunnyvale for many years. The Staff ( Activity Director ) L.J. - her assistants -Roger and Mercy plan more then just activity's. They go above their job descriptions. Make's my job of entertaining the residence so much easier. Happy residence's are a result of their care for family members who live there! My grandparents have been under Sunrise care for 5 years and they have been amazing and exceptional with the care that they provide. The amazing staff helped tremendously during the move in transition for both of my grandparents. They were very understanding and patient with any questions we had, whether it was pertaining to care, activities, meals, and etc. They made a difficult time very comforting for us.
