June 2026
My dad (Ted) was at O'Neill Healthcare Bay Village from 5/19 through 6/12. He basically came in on deaths door. He made a fabulous recovery and I will say it was due to the staff. We cannot thank Seleste and ALL the other care takers enough! They were very attentive to his needs and we were very pleased with his care while at O'Neill. The facility was clean. The food was plentiful and good. Thank you!

I was a new hire RN for about maybe a week or so before quitting. To have a nurse care for 45 patients alone is unsafe! To have an aide walk out in the morning before the end of shift is sad! As a new hire in orientation I took the time to clean up every patient on another assignment for a nurse because the aide abandoned her and I felt bad! If I had not they would have remained soiled in bed until day shift….which was also short! After seeing all of this turmoil, I felt it was not a good fit so I did not return. After all I did, I received my check for the few hours I’d done and it is only today I noticed that instead of the over 40 dollars an hour I should have made, they paid me 10.70 an hour for all they put me through. I did not sign anything stating I would drop to minimum wage. So, this will reach my lawyers desk because I do not work for free. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS FACILITY! DO NOT PUT LOVED ONES HERE!

Absolutely Horrible. I pulled my Mother out of there after 2 days. She went in for rehab. The facility is filthy, it is way understaffed so the response to a call light can take 30 mins which is completely unacceptable, especially if there is an emergency. The aid admitted to us that there was 1 nurse and 1 aid for 30 residents...how is that even legal? My mothers safety and overall care was a major concern, so we pulled her out and took her home.

If you have a loved one at this facility, I strongly urge you to monitor their care. My mother has lived here for 18 months, and we’ve faced serious, ongoing issues. I worked in a jail for five years, and the conditions here are no better. After I moved back, the administrator, [name removed], asked me to delete a negative review. I did—hoping things would improve. They didn’t. My mother frequently misses showers, has been forgotten at meals, and went months with a broken tooth. One night she turned blue while coughing; the nurse delayed calling 911 to finish paperwork. She’s been moved without a Hoyer lift, resulting in injury. I’ve found soiled diapers on her floor and basic hygiene is often neglected. Many residents aren’t changed for hours due to “short staffing.” Missed appointments and gaslighting are common. Smiles at the entrance hide the neglect deeper inside. Families must stay vigilant—no one should have to fight this hard for care.

I thought the rehab was very very good! Most staff attentive and reasonably empathetic, Too long wait time occasionally after call light is turned on. Sloppy appearance of rooms! Food is pretty awful. However, all in all, I would recommend for the staff and good work they do.

Patient was left with call pull on the floor. Water container left warm and man's times empty. Share staffed. Nursing home care has declined greatly. Took patient home - could not continue to experience lack of care.

I am currently a patient O'Neil Bay Village and if I have to be in one I would chose this one. Private very clean rooms, very basic but every thing needed. Take a fan. Rooms are stuffy. Amber somone to bring food. It's very basic comfort food. PT, ST & OT are good. Staff is friendly. I'm pleased with the facility

Some months ago I moved my mom and dad into the memory care unit at O’Neill Bay Village. The decision to transition from community living was a difficult one, but mom and dad needed more care and supervision than family could coordinate in a home environment. I was concerned that the relocation would impact their quality of life, but am happy to say that moving to O’Neill was a good decision. I visit my parents almost daily, and have come to know many of the memory unit nurses and caregivers over the past months. I have seen firsthand the patience, compassion, and genuine fondness the staff have for the residents. This is noteworthy because just attending to the medical, behavioral, and daily needs of the residents (and keeping family informed) can fill a workday. But the nurses and caregivers communicate remarkably well to build the daily routine around the diverse needs and preferences of the residents. Despite all the other demands on their time, they try to nurture each individual and provide companionship and love at every opportunity. I have sincere respect and gratitude for the dedicated O'Neill Bay Village memory care nurses and caregivers.

I am a veteran and I served this country, as did my brother, my father, and my husband. I went to visit a friend recently but saw something terrible. A printed out document that was meant to celebrate the 4th of July was sitting on my friends table and it showed the wrong flag to celebrate July 4th. NOT the American flag. I am truly disgusted to see such a terrible thing. How disrespectful to the people who have served our country, many of whom live in this home. I asked around and my friend believes it was someone named Caren from the activities department. I have bit my tongue but recently when leaving the facility, I have heard how she treats some of the residents and I am very disgusted. I am sick to my stomach when I see her face on the Facebook page as well. The only reason I am giving this establishment 4 stars is because how fantastic the nurses and other directors are. Just one bad apple in a bushel.

September 19, 2022 Dear Katie, This note is a little late but sentiment has not changed. I have told everyone what a positive experience we had at O'Neill Healthcare Bay Village July 13- August 23, 2022. Thank you and your entire staff for taking such good care of Brian Duffin for 7 weeks this past summer. Words can not truly express how much we appreciate every staff member's help in his recovery from the traumatic events of a cardiac arrest, 2 open heart surgeries and a stroke plus everything else that occurred before he arrived at O'Neill Healthcare. Thank you to the many aides who did daily chores and to Corrinne, Jennifer and Stacy who I had personal contact with. Thank you to all the nurses - Savannah, Angela, Kathy, Brenda, and Ollie were all amazing in keeping watch over Brian's medical needs and contributing to his excellent recovery. Brian had many aides, and they were always friendly, patient, and willing to do anything that was needed. They came every time the call button was touched whether by accident or with purpose! All the little details that all the aides performed contributed to his well-being and recovery. A special shout-out to the entire physical therapy team - Alexis, Lauren, Melinda, Dana for physical therapy. Colleen, Dee, Jimmy for occupational therapy and Tracey for speech therapy. These people were outstanding in all the ways they helped Brian improve. They were always, patient, positive, and professional. And Brian improved by leaps and bounds during his stay. All the therapists were also especially kind and helpful to me. I learned so much by watching them work with Brian, plus I was able to participate which I so appreciate! I know there are many more people that contributed their time and talents - dietitian and kitchen staff, and the cleaning and maintenance workers are all to be thanked. Thanks to everyone at O'Neill Bay Village, Brian is on an amazing and very positive road to recovery. With admiration and continued gratitude, Jill and Brian Duffin

This is my second stay here with my bad medical luck! But after the first week all has gone great as expected! That's the reason I returned for my broken leg rehab. Happy with everything especially the physical therapy work and super attentive nurses and aides. I'd highly recommend.

I was fortunate enough to join the O'Neill Bay Village team in October of 2021. I have been beyond impressed with this entire team as they consistently provide incredible care to every resident. The O'Neill family understands what it takes to care for someone at any level of care; from skilled to long term to Assisted Living & Memory Support. I am not only an employee, but also a family member of a resident. I would not trust any other team to care for my mom.

ONEILLs did a fantastic job with my sister in a recent short term stay. Her care was complicated with multiple medical problems and disability. They calmly assured me that they were going to provide her with the best care and they did. The nursing staff was competent and caring. They had big hearts according to my sister. We are so full of gratitude.
