Almost a year ago my dear wife of 29 years was accepted into assisted living living and did amazingly adapt to the program here. She loved everything they offer and was invited upon arrival to join a table of woman to dine with. Later this year she transitioned downstairs and shares a pod with another woman in a more structured environment where she adapted to well.

A family member of mine moved into the Landing a month ago. We are very happy with our decision. The facility is lovely. Matt the Executive Director and Dementia Specialist made all our family members feel safe in the transition. I noticed how the staff have created an environment where the residents can make constant personal choices. I see how happy the residents are; empowered when making independent decisions throughout their day. The Landing has numerous options for the residents on how they can spend their time and many food choices at each meal. The food is really good too. There are always plenty of staff on duty and many activities throughout the day, every day. I am so happy I found The Landing. My stress level has decreased significantly. I know my husband is safe, he is receiving the care he needs, and he is happy.

It’s taken me almost 4 years to write this review. This facility is NOT a place you want your loved one or family to be in. The nurses and staff are rude to patients. Making patients feel like an inconvenience to them. They also arrange the patients by how long left they have to live. My grandmother was there two weeks and figured that out. After that she was scared to death. She said they put the patients who are closest to dying in the rooms closest to the entrance. She was put into the first room while being told she was getting better by doctors. Her roommate died and she lost it. I had never seen my fearless, powerful grandmother so scared in her life. She told me that we’re giving her too much meds and I tried to teach her how to tongue meds but she was just too out of it. She would call my phone ten times a day and after a month of being in this facility she couldn’t even dial my number. She would forget the numbers or who she was calling. Plus I had a friend who’s mom worked there over ten years ago and would steal meds everyday. If you love your family, PLEASE DONT send them here. Fairview commons was a lot better and she loved it there. If I could rate a zero, I would!! And the woman who had a birthday and made my grandmother feel like crap cause you had to work that day. My mother moved from the assisted living to the memory care unit. I was extremely pleased with the care my mother received. We were able to get western mass hospice involved to keep my mom comfortable. Lorena coordinated her care and has worked with many organizations in western mass. She was a great patient advocate for my mom and kept me informed. The staff is kind and responsive. Highly recommend.

Services at Kindred Assisted Living - Laurel Lake generally are very good. The facility is well maintained and the front desk staff are very good. I can arrange transportation for medical appointments easily and it is a lively environment. Many activities take place and a resident can choose to participate in as many or as few as desired. Two concerns are: 1) The fee increases a significant amount per year and 2) support for incontinence products recently was discontinued.
