My 96 year old mother has been a resident at Sunrise at Bluemont Park for 11 years. First in assisted living and now at the dementia unit. Throughout her stay, I have been continually and universally impressed by the professionalism and care of the staff. They have demanding work and they pay attention to important details as they look after the care of the residents. In short, I don't worry about my mom's care.

It is one week that I can try to contact one of your guest calling your phone contact for this purpose available, my call never had pass through. Horrible people answering, last of them close the call. Is that like a German Lager of WWII … I will try again … and again hoping to have different contacts! I had the opportunity to visit this beautiful community with my mother and was thoroughly impressed by its serene and colorful park-like setting. The grounds are both peaceful and engaging with ample areas to sit and enjoy the outdoors. I loved the location, which is tucked away and also convenient to the city. Our tour guide, Kelsie, did an outstanding and patient job of showing us the many features of the community. Our tour of the interior allowed us to see the warm and kind attention the staff pays to the environment it has created for its residents. I would highly recommend a visit to see if this is the community for you and your loved ones.

This is an updated review from a year ago and, if anything, Sunrise at Bluemont Park has gotten even better! The newest Executive Director has made so many improvements to the physical buildings (e.g., better lighting, nicer outdoor seating areas) along with her superb leadership. Her most recent hires are truly engaged in resident care. Our family so appreciates this level of engagement. We always appreciated the management and staff, yet this current mix of incoming and existing staff is such a plus. The Bluemont Park campus is also in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Thanks to the entire team!

I was interviewed for a position and I was blown away by how compassionate, personable and gracious the Executive Director was. I was provided with a tour of the facility and realized how high the staff morale was from the moment I walked into the building. Please keep shining and providing the best care to our seniors! My 92-year old father has been at Sunrise at Bluemont Park for over two years now...and it's the right place for him at this stage of life. Well run and resident-focused, it addresses the details that make the adjustment from fully independent living, to life at a facility, as simple as the move from one home to another. The staff are friendly and very capable, the buildings and grounds are beautiful, clean and well-maintained, and the ambience is pleasant and welcoming. My father would rather be at a point in life where he could live without any assistance, and it was difficult for him to leave the house he had lived in for over 60 years. But he feels so fortunate to have found such a wonderful new home that fits his needs...and so am I! Kudos to Sunrise for creating such a wonderful living experience for my father!

I had a tour today of Sunrise Bluemont Park, for my mom. My tour guide (an African American man named Daimo) gave the place a very positive impression for me, he seemed very caring, kind, and helpful, which are important qualities. Thank you, Daimo and team.

I visited my aunt last week. The community looks brighter and cleaner than before. I got a chance to meet with the new Executive Director as well. She took the time out from her busy day to speak with me and share some of her ideas about improving the community. She came across as a focused person. I am looking forward to seeing more positive changes in the community.

My wife transitioned from home to Memory Care at Bluemont Park in early 2023. The transition was difficult. She is strong-willed and her Alzheimer's is advanced. Six months into the Bluemont experience, we feel we made the right decision. Supported by a loving staff, she has made the transition and sees Bluemont as her home. There are ups and downs, but the staff remains caring, and I see human connections on my regular visits. Nothing is ideal with Alzheimer's, but it's a comfort to know she is in the right place.

I am delighted with the staff. They really care and staff throughout has shown their commitment to caregiving in a way that is respectful and considerate. They make "newbies" feel welcome and safe, and know the residents well and show interest in their lives and interests. The food is really good, and nutritious. Serving staff help residents make good, nutitious choices, but respect the resident's right to make their own choices. And there are good alternatives for each aspect of the meals. The views are lovely, and we really enjoy spending time on the patio enjoying the views, nature and time with other residents. It is nice to have easy access to a choice of beverages also. There is a range of activities, and staff is there to help, but also encourages the residents to participate to their own capabilities and proclivities. We haven't been here long, but the experience is far superior to my expectations.

We moved a parent here 6 months ago and have been very happy with the care and the overall facility. This is our first experience with elder care and Sunrise and I would recommend checking out the Bluemont site. There are 3 buildings and rooms are nicely decorated and maintained; rooms have a variety of choices in layouts and sizes (and prices). They make it easy with tours and information to make a decision - and are very aware of it being a stressful time. All levels of care are available. Care coordinators and care managers have all been so responsive and attentive, especially as we have had changing needs. And the Nurses team as well has been great. Maintenance team is quick with any issue and helpful with any needs. Choosing a place for an elderly parent is a very emotional and stressful process - Sunrise Bluemont is a good choice to check out.

The previous reviews were very helpful in deciding to tour Sunrise at Bluemont Park. I looked at many other places but kept coming back here. Good fit for my mother given the quality of care & activities, food choices, & professional staff. Everyone, including the residents, have been caring. The 1 bedroom suites have a nice layout and appliances. Great views of Bluemont Park and rose gardens.

We love sunrise! If I could give this sunrise more than 5 stars I would! Mom/Grandma lived there in the James building for 8 years. The staff treated her like family and she made many friends over the years. My mom especially loved the weekly piano sing alongs, outdoor patio and trips to the store. The staff always made sure she was taken care of and felt important. They were caring and became like her family. From the moment my mother entered sunrise the staff, especially the executive director, were always there to answer any questions I had to help her stay as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately she's unable to continue her stay at sunrise and everyone will be surely missed. This was one of the most positive experiences my family has ever had with an assistant living facility. Sunrise Senior Living (Bluemont) came highly recommended to us, and it's easy to see why: they have exceeded our family's expectations for our mother, who relocated to Virginia from out-of-state six weeks ago. We now wish to share our own recommendation. From the very first moment, the Sales and Administrative team worked to ensure that our mother's transition was smooth and positive, from identifying the best apartment and assistance plan for her particular needs. Their flexibility made our experience simple and stress-free. The Maintenance crew as well went above and beyond their normal duties, assisting us with moving in our mother's belongings, for which we were very appreciative. Since that first day everything has gone brilliantly. The health care team has been very attentive and responsive, and the twice-daily dispensation of medication has been meticulously administered. And the personal care managers ... we can we say?! They are simply wonderful, each showing a sincere concern and genuine care for our mother (and for that matter the other residents). Our family holds them in high trust and regard, and we very much value their efforts. We considered several options for assisted living arrangements, but we could not have made a better decision!

We toured several Sunrise facilities and we liked the one at Bluemont Park the best. We like that it is a larger community and has three buildings. The staff have been incredible, provide excellent communication and support. We are having a very positive experience.

My mother has been there for almost a year now so heres my observations: Pros: Staff there are in general, friendly. The nurse is great and she is very attentive, caring and proactive. She responds rapidly to questions. Her staff are very diligent in making sure that folks under their care take their medications. 5 stars for them. Cons: the food there is mediocre at best. The staff in the dining room are very nice. The housecleaning is not very good. I end up going over and vacuuming my moms unit every week. Just dont keep any valuables in the room since they may disappear. I found petty theft of dish washing detergent, paper towels and deodorizer in my moms unit. Pretty pathetic.

I want to let all of you out there to know that my Mother was in Sunrise at Bluemont park for a month and I am wanting to have her return next month but now I have experience a vicious act from Wendy the Asst. Executive Director of Sales. I have to say that everyone there is pleasant but Wendy. I found her to be a disgusting woman who is very insentive to an already sensitive situation in my decision to put my Mother in Senior Living. She implied (she might as well have right out and said it) that I go to the Catholic Church for financial help because "Catholic Church has deep pockets!) I was beyond disgusted by her and what she said. She just wanted our money and had no care of our family situation. This woman need to be fired! Today, I was in the process finalizing the checkin of my mother there again and she pulled the rug from under us and gave the room to a "walk in!" she had the Sales Assistant Danitte do her dirty work to tell me. The new Executive is out as of this writing but I am definitely letting him know how she does business. Bad business! Disgusting woman, that Wendy!

Each time I visited Sunrise I enjoyed the staff. They were all very nice and knowledgeable. They offered a lot of activities and stimulation for the residents. The community offers private rooms which provides some privacy for a loved one. The community overall was very clean. At the stage my mother is in Sunrise was not the right fit. I would recommend this community to friends and family!
