My 88 year old mom recently moved to Atria Hillcrest. While any move has its challenges, moving an older parent can be filled with them. We picked Atria because of the beautiful setting, exceptionally clean and well maintained apartments and honestly the price. We fell in love with Artia because of the staff. Everyone is so kind, friendly and caring. Marcelle is wonderful, knowledgable and so patient with understanding what a big decision is being made. Lupe was so great at explaining all the costs and paperwork. Nurse Wendy went above and beyond to make sure my mom had the correct placement and care.(I really can't thank her enough or express how amazing she is at her job.) The care takers and med techs are super friendly and interact with my mom in such a positive manner. All of this has allowed my mom to be really comfortable in her new home and she has made many new friends and happily engages and interacts with so many of the other residents. It is really great to see her being so social with others and so well cared for. Atria Hillcrest is a great fit for our family, because they make you part of their family from day one.

My neighbor recently moved to Atria Hillcrest and recommended that I visit the facility. I booked a tour with their amazing Sales Director, Marcelle. During the tour, I found the facility to be incredibly beautiful, cheerful and clean and the layout perfect. Marcelle is warm, caring and answered every question honestly. While I have only been here a short time, my transition into my new home has been seamless. The attentive staff are friendly and well trained. Ramon Pagels gets an A+. He is the perfect person as the Executive Director in all aspects of running this Senior Living Home. I would highly recommend Atria Hillcrest to anyone looking for a new home for themselves or a loved one. Book a tour with Marcelle to see for yourself.

Atria has treated my family very well 🙂 My relative who lives at Atria is very happy being there and I can feel it too 🙂 The staff and the other awesome elderly are very friendly to me and I love playing piano and singing for them. They have a great music/game venue and movie theatre as well as haircuts and they are able to drive my relative to swimming 🙂

OK, I speak from experience having two parents currently at Atria. My hunch says if you’re scrolling through these reviews, you’re trying to figure out if this is a good facility for your parents. My answer to you would be an unqualified yes. First, obviously ANY kind of residential situation like this comes with a financial cost (and that pertains to all facilities, not this one alone). In terms of the cost consideration, we found Atria to be (pretty much) in the financial middle of the road, so to speak. Obviously, the more services (help) a resident needs, the higher the price goes up. But that reality is also true in ALL of life, and is not unique to residential care. But setting the financial realities aside of assisted-living/residential care, I would say Atria shines in so many areas: 1. The staff has been truly amazing. We’ve dealt with many of them and at no time did we feel anyone was being dishonest, phony or hiding things we needed to know. That goes for all the support staff/care staff, as well as the forward facing sales and administration staff. I always worry when sales people are being nice and kind and so I always kept my guard up during the process of getting my parents into Atria. Yet I quickly learned that there was no need to expect anything but the outstanding service and care we received from very beginning inquiry stages of the process to having my parents in the facility for multiple months on end. And I truly mean that. 2. The facilities ARE top-notch, well taken care of, super clean and feel actually luxurious. In no way does this facility come across as a dump. If anything, it comes across as classy, vibrant and ALIVE. 3. The food has been nothing short of amazing. You would think a retirement home could get away with serving slop, but in fact the opposite is true of this facility They’ve got a great menu they’re constantly working through, the quality is so fantastic that my 97 year-old stepfather has actually gained weight during his time here! And having sampled the food, I can see why! 4. It does feel like there’s general camaraderie with the residents and you don’t walk in the front door and have a sense of doom and gloom. A lot of the residents have been super helpful, talkative, and pleasant to be around. In other words, there’s a good social atmosphere here where a resident can choose to expand their friendship circles and be around other adults who’ve had full, sophisticated, and rich lives. In other words, I can tell you that Atria Is not a place where people go to be dumped and die, but it’s where people go to make genuine connections, in a healthy environment during whatever time they have left. If you can address the cost issue, I would say you definitely want to put your loved one here. It truly has been one of the best choices we’ve made.

Because of Marcelle at Atria, our experience was amazing! She is the sales director and she took care of us like family. It meant so much to my dad and I that she took the time to really get to know him and his likes/dislikes. She gave us an amazing tour and because of it, my dad is moving in this month. He’s ready to call Atria Hillcrest home.

My mom has found her home away from home! After living in her home for 60+ years it was time to be closer to me and we are so happy to have found Atria Hillcrest. The staff starting with Marcelle has been so kind and helpful with this transition. She has made new friends and at 98 is playing Bingo, Poker and making Beads! The Staff is always smiling and extremely helpful. Thanks for taking good care of all the residents.

Atria Hillcrest made us feel very welcomed and supported as we searched for an Assisted Living community for my aging parent. The atmosphere and people are calm and friendly. Marcelle, the Community Sales Director, and Remon, the Executive Director, are wonderful. Both have been welcoming, knowledgeable, and responsive. The rooms and the common spaces are inviting and well maintained. The tree-shaded grounds provide a beautiful setting. The pricing is reasonable, compared to other places my family explored. The food is good, and they offer interesting activities for the residents.

My husband and I toured this lovely facility with my mother recently and found it to be everything we were looking for in an assisted living community. Not only is it beautiful and well-maintained both inside and out, but the residents are happy and engaged from all we could see. Great entertainment on the day we were there! We are only waiting for the right unit to open up for my mom and she is very excited to be there when it does. Special thank you to Sales Director, Marcelle, who is just a joy to work with.

I would HIGHLY recommend Atria Hillcrest to any family that needs to find an assisted living community in California! My mom had been fully independent until she started falling in July and landed in the hospital then skilled nursing. I am in Texas so it was a daunting task finding my mom a community that I could feel comfortable with, let alone getting over the realization that she needed more help. I started the search online, but then someone from the hospital referred me to Atria Hillcrest and from the moment I spoke with Executive Director, Remon Pagels, on the phone and later had a FaceTime tour with Sales Director, Marcelle Moje, I knew that I found the place that would take care of my mom. They were patient, kind, and everything I needed them to be (and more!) as they guided me through this new season with my mom. It wasn’t until I flew in and spent two weeks on site helping her get settled that I realized how extraordinary they were, as well as your staff. They have clearly built a culture of caring at this community from the moment you walk in the front door and are greeted by the team at the desk, to the lovely ladies who come to check in and care for my mom, and everyone else in between. Both Remon and Marcelle went well above what I expected, and it was everything I prayed for. It is evident that they have a GENUINE love of what they do and for their residents. What an amazing gift you give to those of us who trust our loved ones in your care.

I have only been here 3months, but in that short time have been more than pleasantly surprised by the continued smiles from all of the staff and pleasant conversations with other residents. The facility has met all of my expectations from outward appearance, cleanliness, dedicated staff and ability to get any questions answered quickly and directly. Unfortunately, my wife has not yet been willing to give up our home of 55 years and is suffering from, as yet, mild alzheimers. My oldest daughter is staying with her until such time as she needs round the clock care. When that becomes a reality, she will find a new home here at Atria Hillcrest where I know she will receive the care she needs. Thank you Atria Hillcrest, Marcelle, Remon and the rest of the staff for making a tough situation easier. I have and will continue to recommend Atria Hillcrest to anyone who I feel would need such a facility.

My mother and I took a tour of this lovely place and were both impressed with just about everything. The facility is clean, airy, bright, welcoming. The residents all seemed very much at home. We saw many exchanges between staff and residents and were impressed with how pleasant everyone seemed to be. And they have a lot to offer with a dining room, bistro, theater, and much more. I'm not an expert on prices of similar facilities; however, I believe the prices we were quoted seemed fair and in line with what I do know. I would highly recommend anyone considering ANY type of senior living should check this place out. Thanks Marcelle, for the time you spent with Mom and me. We do very much appreciate it.

Moving my 90 y.o. mother from her home of 50 years was scary for us...but necessary. After a fall that left us all so concerned about my mom's daily living, by herself, we decided it was time. Finding Atria Hillcrest was a blessing. Marcelle showed us the facilities and we thought it was beautiful! My mother's one BR apt is pretty, with a view, she has activities and good wholesome meals and SHE'S MADE FRIENDS! I feel like my mother is safe, cared for and has her needs and wants met! It does take some time to adjust, but I feel there is no better place. Atria is immaculate, clean, tidy, modern and fun!

My mother moved to Atria 3 months ago after living on her own in the house she has owned for 55 years. She was ready to give up the responsibility of managing everything on her own & was excited about moving much closer to me & my family. Her chief concern about moving into a senior residence was how her dog would adapt to the new context with a lot less space. Dogs are welcome here & thankfully my mom’s dog has adapted very well. Atria has been a true blessing in every way. The staff is wonderful! They are deeply caring & they work together as a well-coordinated team. From the top-down they are always striving to do more to improve life for Altria’s residents. The size is just right too - big enough to have a nice range of social options & activities but not so big that it’s overwhelming. The residents have also been very cheerful & welcoming which reflects the culture here. It is clear that they feel cared-for & like they live in a true community. Of course there are always challenges when making a major life change like this but I cannot imagine a better, more caring context for my mom.

Atria and the people that work there have been a Godsend to me and my family. We toured the facility last month in the hopes that my mother in law would find it a good fit. From the moment we entered we knew it was a special place. The Community Sales Director, Marcelle Moje, gave us a tour and nothing about this place disappointed. Let me start off by saying that Marcelle is exceptional at her job. She is warm, compassionate and extremely empathetic to how difficult a process this can be to someone. She was nothing short of 100% wonderful in every way. The facility is lovely with a large entry that feels like a hotel lobby. There is a lot of natural light that welcomes you inside. The dining room is large and inviting. We had lunch there and the food was delicious. The chef even came to our table to meet us and reassured us of how accommodating the kitchen staff is. Also impressive was the bistro that is open in the event that a resident desires a mid day snack. In addition there is a very nice beauty salon, a movie theatre with at least 20 large leather chairs and a physical therapy room. There is a cozy sitting area outside with a fireplace. This place has it all!! In the center courtyard there is a beautiful large oak tree with lovely rose bushes. Perfect for outdoor sitting on nice days. The single bedrooms can accommodate a full or queen size bed, dresser and nightstand and the living room will comfortably accommodate a loveseat, chair and television media console. It even has a walk in closet! Sadly my mother in law’s health quickly declined and we were forced to consider the memory care unit. Again it did not disappoint. It is so nicely decorated and spacious. The memory care unit offers more than I could have hoped for. I’m completely confident that she will be taken good care of by the staff. I know first hand how difficult this process is. It can be very overwhelming but from the moment I stepped inside I knew that we had found my mother in laws forever home. It is clean and smells clean. The carpet, paint and furnishings look new and the staff is wonderful and reassuring. Stop by and take a tour and you won’t be disappointed. I don’t normally leave reviews for anything but Atria and Marcelle had such a positive impact on our family that I was compelled to do so.

We loved this facility the minute we walked in. Staff was so friendly as were the residents. I particularly want to share our experience with Jessica Torres. She was amazing with our parents, listened to them, was compassionate, informative and very respectful. In my father’s opinion she sold him on the facility before he even saw the apartment. My mother moved to Atria Hillcrest in January 2021. We are very happy that she is there. The staff has always been very attentive and kind to her and she always said she liked it there and enjoyed the food. Unfortunately over the last two years her dementia and her overall ability to take care of herself has deteriorated and so she has moved in the last couple of weeks to Atria's Life Guidance area. So far this move has been a godsend as she's receiving more care, her new room is smaller so less chance of falling, she is out of her room socializing which she never did before and her overall disposition has improved. The only reason that I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that for most of the two years she has been there the communication with the former director was terrible. She would never respond to either phone calls or emails. Fortunately the new director, Adam Syncheff, has been very responsive in his short time at Atria so between my mother's improvement & the new director I highly anticipate giving 5 stars this time next year.

I made a phone call to ask some questions. Don S. answered and was very helpful and informed. He shared some pertinent tips, acknowledged that it is a search and told me a few things I had not heard. At this point I have visited 5 different places. I plan to add Atria Hillcrest to the list and see how they compare. Everything I heard sounds very promising and I hope to see it is as "advertised". Thanks Don for your time and help. Fingers crossed I can get there soon (with my Mom who is still my Mom!).

NO DOUBT ABOUT IT: In February of this year, my daughter and I set out to find A place for Mom. On that very first day, we drove by the front of Atria Hillcrest and commented on the stylish building and the beautiful landscaping. Because I was checking out senior living facilities on Google, I was contacted by a mediator to assist me in my search. The mediator arranged for 6 additional senior living tours in the area. Nothing seemed to be inviting. Then I remembered Atria Hillcrest and my mediator scheduled a tour. I already liked the outside atmosphere and with one tour inside, I knew this was where I belonged. Returning to my daughter’s home I told my son-in-law, I have found the place where I am going to live. No doubt about it!

My mother has lived here since November 2017. The entire staff including caregivers, med tech personnel, maintenance staff, housekeepers, management, including Sarah Dodd, the director, do a phenomenal job making sure residents are safe, comfortable, and well-cared for. Chef David makes great food and can be seen regularly making rounds in the dining room, checking with his guests to see how they are enjoying their meal. He listens to what they say and tries to make adjustments when he can. Pre-pandemic, we were regular visitors to the dining room, enjoying many a Sunday family brunch... best bacon ever! Also, the staff is always celebrating the holidays with great entertainment and food thanks to the activities director Sahilly and her team. We had to move mom up to the memory care floor in January 2021 and have found that the entire staff up there surely must have a place in heaven reserved for them. I have witnessed on many occasions the care and respect they show the residents. Just recently, mom fell and broke her ankle. She was at a horrible rehab facility for 5 weeks... They wouldn't release her, wanted her to see a psychiatrist for her Alzheimer's, and had Covid starting to spread there. They were not monitoring visitors. Anyway, Sarah Dodd went to the rehab facility on her own time and saw my mom. She did the necessary physical assessment of mom, got the required paperwork from them, including a negative Covid test, and called me with the good news that mom was ready to come home... go pick her up. Sarah will always hold a special place in our heart for fighting for our mom, so we could get her back to a place where she is cared for with genuine love and respect. Yes, I absolutely recommend this place and it is 100% because of the staff who works there!

When it was time to look for an Assisted Living facility for our elderly grandpa, we visited every facility in the area and Atria Hillcrest was by far the best place we visited. The layout was perfect, the food was good and it was a beautiful facility. They had everything we needed on site plus some extras that we didn’t know we needed. But far and away the best thing about Atria was the staff. In the 2.5 years that grandpa lived there, everyone from the receptionist to the Sarah, who runs the place, had a personal relationship with our loved one. When something was not normal’, for example, not eating as much as usual, they were in communication with us. The care givers could not have been more kind and loving! When our grandpa was at the end of his life we could not have asked for a more supportive environment. It’s was such a difficult time and the support and care that grandpa and the family received was beyond reproach. Thank you, Atria Hillcrest!

About 2 years ago, my family was put into an unimaginable situation. We were dealt cards where we needed to quick find a new living arrangement for our parents. When our family first met the Atria team, they were some of the most amazing people I we ever had the privilege to work with. Their kindness, compassion, and flexibility was visible from day one. These were urgent and unchartered times, their support will forever be appreciated. I want to mention Sarah Dodd. Sarah is the Director of the property. She is smart, creative, passionate, and "resident focused". There are times we could witness her absolute compassion for a resident AND their families. She moves mountains, creates family rather than just people who live there, and she leads a team that works, day to day, in unimaginable circumstances. The extended family team of care takers are smiles, hugs, and compassion even when hugs and the human touch is not possible. It is remarkable how Atria, in these crazy times, has kept the community safe from harm. The Atria Hillcrest family is forever grateful for keeping our loved ones safe. Working with Denise Watkins in the Memory Care Area was a gift. Her heart and how she demonstrates compassion each and every day is magical. Denise makes dark days bright, cold days warm, and when people feel lost, Denise makes them feel found. I know that during my Mom's last days Denise ensured those times were filled with knowing she was loved. What more could we ask for? Denise will always be thought of as the model for how we need to treat our family struggling each day. Thank you Denise!! As finally, thank you for "EVERYONE ATRIA". From the chef to the front desk manager. From the housekeepers to the daily attendants - Sarah trains and supports here people well. The everyday care and the kindness demonstrated is noticed, appreciated, and revered. Thank you for the team. Words will never illustrate our appreciate to Atria for being our guides through these unimaginable times. We appreciate everything they do every day.

Thank you, Atria Hillcrest! During a very difficult time for our family, Atria Hillcrest has been amazing and I know my mother-in-law is in great hands there! After losing her husband after 61 years of marriage and needing special care, Lynne was nervous about starting her new journey moving in to Atria. We met with Jennifer and she put her mind at ease quickly, with both sensitivity and a bit of humor, showing her around the facility at her own pace. Needless to say, Lynne is now comfortable in her new home, and it's hard to put in to words how great the staff have been there. She has so many angels there to help her at a moment's notice. They provide theme days and bring fun goodies to the residents to keep them engaged, which is so important during the current health crisis, while taking the utmost care to ensure safety. Thank you so much, Atria Hillcrest!

Where do you start when you find angels on earth for a loved one. We lost my daddy 9 months ago. We had to move mom out, sell the family home and find a place where she would be able to be looked out for as she walked the road of losing the love of her life. I've become very close to the caregivers, med techs and alot of the staff. They have ALL gone above and beyond to help her, keep me notified of any needs and MORE! During this terrible time of COVID, they are still upholding the care, attention to the residents and keeping them safe. They love the residents like family. I can call at any time & get answers for questions, have someone check on her, help her and be sure she's good. This helps me sleep at night when I can't go in to see her. Mom tells me how much she likes everyone and feels safe & cared for. Thank you Jennifer Davis as you were the first contact we had there. Sahily, Courtney, Carthiel, Jazzie, Precious, Rachel, Susan, Jose and way too many to list. This life change has been difficult on all of us. THANK YOU for taking care of my mommy! I'm so very grateful! I would refer yo with confidence in a heartbeat!

My mother-in-law, Lynne, moved into Atria Hillcrest in November of 2019. To say that she was reluctant to the idea of assisted living is an understatement. However, thanks to the kindness, diligence, and professionalism of the staff she quickly adjusted to her new home and has really enjoyed her time at Atria. The activities, the food, the support, and the comfort of the apartments all make for a peaceful and comfortable home. There are a couple of things I specifically want to point out: 1. When we were first introduced to Atria Hillcrest the Administrative staff in general, and Jennifer Davis in particular, were very helpful and forthcoming with information that helped us make a decision with a feeling of confidence that this was the right home for Lynne. 2. It is my understanding that, as of August 13 2020, Atria Hillcrest still has zero positive cases of Covid-19 among their residents. To me this speaks volumes about the quality of care, the sound policies, and level of commitment of the staff to protect the people in their care. I highly recommend Atria Hillcrest to any family that needs to move a loved one to assisted living.

Wow, Wow, Wow, I need to let you know Jennifer Davis at Atria is amazing as well as the entire staff. Jennifer went above and beyond to help a resident get a room that she totally loved on such short notice! Jennifer followed up on making sure all the details were taken care of while dealing with her own personal situation. Jennifer was so personal and caring to my client, but just walking through the halls with her I can see she is that way with all the residents. She met each one with a smile and knew them all by name! The entire staff there has been nothing but kind and sweet. I am so glad my client has found the wonderful caring facility to now call home!

My mother Rose Bliman is the longest surviving resident at Atria Hillcrest. Her 21 years at the same location is testament to the excellent care that this facility provides. In great measure, I owe my mother's longevity to Atria's friendly housekeepers, attentive servers, engaging activities director, considerate drivers, caring MAs, conscientious nurses, effective medical director (Urbano), and amazing executive director (Jane). For example, when a terminal illness threatened Rose's quality of life, Jane promptly arranged an incredibly smooth transition to palliative care that is restoring the comfort, joy, and dignity of my mother's remaining days. Thank you Atria Hillcrest! Howard Bliman, MD

Atria Hillcrest is a fantastic community with a loving and caring staff. The new remodel is really wonderful, and inviting. There's just something very nice about "new." Not only is it refreshing for the residents and staff, but it is kind of fun to watch the development and enjoy the new spaces and facilities. You never walk in the door without feeling really comfy and at home.
