This place is absolutely awful!!!! The “boss” [name removed] or Westphal is an ex heroin addict who is mentally and emotionally abusive to her employees!!!!!!!!! She has a VERY LONG known behavioral pattern of lying and making false claims against employees to get them written up or terminated if they upset her in any way whatsoever! They are full of lies and drama!! They all need professional help of their own while they are taking care of others and mistreating one another every single day!!! The residents at this facility are very well aware as they do all of this in front of them. Do not bring your family here!!! [name removed] the administrator turns a blind eye to all things because they are very corrupt and they do not like your family members!! They are ALL GOSSIPED ABOUT AND MADE FUN OF!!

As a current employee of this facility, I am writing my own response to the new review posted by Victoria K. The resident in question, was placed in the facility under false pretenses. This is an Assisted Living facility, which means placement here requires the person to be able to function independantly, with assistance. This was not the case with this particular person. He requires around the clock , one on one assistance, as he kept falling. With his current situation, one more fall could have meant rendering him a complete Quadraplegic . had this person done their complete homework on what her Father required, she might not have been so quick to put him somewhere he truly didn't belong. This rests solely on the Daughter, not with the facility. They were more than patient waiting for her to find the proper placement for him, and not been so quick to just hand him off.....Just putting an honest spin on a person not facing her accountability in all of this. She placed him, we didn't . ....hmmmm. All this, even as she agreed on the telephone he didn't belong

Please don’t send any loved ones to Horizons assisted living facility in Cananadaigua! They will promise you the world only to kick your loved one out after 5 months. They did a full evaluation of my dad prior to accepting him, and had a report from a rehab center. Also I was very transparent with them about all his issues. They said no problem, we can work with him. This past Sunday after my dad fell and was sent to the hospital, the director had a nurse call me and say they refuse under no circumstances to let him back in. I understand places are short staffed, I get that but don’t let us think it’s going to be a great place for him, where he will he taken care of, only to treat him this way. A week before Christmas they told me I had 30 days to get him out of there and find him a nursing home, which I applied to over 10 places , but wasn’t enough.

I so miss Horizons! From the time Lynn Edwards and I walked in the door to check it out we loved it! It was perfect for Lynn's mother, Vida! Friendly, professional, caring and warm staff....more like a big family! The food is great, too! I really can't say enough about Horizons and would certainly highly recommend it for yourself or loved ones! I stopped back to visit today and hope to stop in on occasion when in the area. I think of the staff as friends.

Our experience with Horizons has been a very good one! The staff here is friendly and professional, and they really cater to the needs of the residents! They're always right there to help if anything comes up! The facility itself is clean and well kept, and they've got a lot to provide for the people who live here. They also do a good jbo with the food!
