All the staff and residents we've met have been friendly and happy, which is an important indicator when it comes to the dignified treatment of loved ones. I recently had the opportunity to tour and visit Parkland Village Retirement Community in McMinnville, OR and was blown away by my first impression. I was meeting with James, their Community Relations Director who was finishing up with another meeting. When I entered, I was happily greeted by Oksana and Erica who offered me a beverage, engaged with me while I waited, and made sure I was comfortable. Another staff member passing by saw me sitting down and made sure that I had already been helped. I had the opportunity to watch them engage with some of their residents, calling them by name, and asking detailed questions about how they were doing. James gave me a tour of the facility which was clean and tidy, and greeted his fellow colleagues each by name. Having been in and worked at many ALFs and ILFs, this first impression impressed me greatly. The staff here clearly care about the well being of their residents, and actively seek out ways to help improve their quality of life. Parkland Village has a "home" feel to it, and I believe this type of culture is created by the type of people who work here. Definitely would recommend Parkland Village as a place to check out for those considering assisted and independent living options.

My family and I had to begin looking into assisted living facilities unexpectedly a few months ago. Throughout the entire process, James at Parkland has been an amazing help. We’ve heard such amazing things about Parkland; its care, and its staff, and it is our number one choice in a facility. I can’t thank James enough for his support and time in guiding us in this very difficult, emotional experience, and we are so grateful to everyone at Parkland for everything they do to make their space an amazing one for guests. With no stairs, clean facilities, endless dining and activity options, and a large staff of dedicated caregivers, Parkland is a wonderful place that we are so grateful for. Thank you, James!

My mom has been at Parkland for about a month. The staff is very kind and helpful to their residents and their families. The dining room is nice and inviting and we love the menu of food to choose from, it's yummy too! I would describe the community living area as cozy with a big fireplace, comfy furniture and a big screen TV, the long table with puzzles to put together on is a big hit. Another plus is that the facility is all one level, quiet and woodsy but still close to town. The only thing I would like to see happen is having a driver to take the residents to activities, shopping and church.

My interactions with the front office staff at Parkland have been professional and friendly. Oksana has been especially kind and attentive to my mother. A true delight! We are very impressed by James, Sales and Marketing Manager as well as everyone we have had the pleasure of meeting. We look forward to our Mom becoming a resident; we know we have chosen the right Retirement Community for her!

If outstanding care is something you are looking for, then this is the place you or your loved one should be. A beautiful campus with wildlife surrounding it such as deer and rabbit that run freely on campus. Close to all medical needs and shopping and a friendly community of staff and residents. You can feel the warm and friendly atmosphere upon walking into the building.

Parkland Village is a wonderful community. The dedicated staff go above and beyond every day to provide compassionate, skilled and efficient care. Lots of resident birds and deer, delicious food, and clean, inviting environment. Best assisted living community in Yamhill County.

I recently visited several homes in McMinnvile for possible residency for my mother. Parkland is my first choice. The criteria I used was extensive but the main reason for my choice was the happiness I saw in the residents and the overall positive environment that they lived in. Most everyone had a smile on their face and I saw whole families having lunch or just visiting with their loved ones. I also thought the living space in the apartments and studios were nice and light and bright. The only reason I did not give Parkland 5 stars is because my mother is not yet a resident there so I can not speak from her experience. In my opinion, Parkland is a wonderful place for a loved one and I would rest easy if my mom becomes a resident of this facility.

Our family had a crisis of two parents needing care. In the course of one day all of our lives changed and we did not know where to turn. With the unique situation of needing to find care for two parents, we stumbled upon Parkland Village and met Marie Jennings. She immediately became engaged with our needs and advised us about many options - not just care at Parkland. She advised us on home care, respite care, and a wide range of services for us to consider. At the time, Parkland did not have an opening, so we reluctantly had to look for other options. Even in that Marie helped us. When we were working with social workers and other administrators, and things were not working out, we knew we could call Marie and she would help us. If you need care for a loved one, I would immediately call Parkland and seek out Marie for help and advise. In a time where customer service is lacking in all industries, it was a unique pleasure to work with our friend Marie. Call her!

My father in law needed to move into a place in a short time and was a bit worried about losing his independence. After moving in, he has just thrived at Parkland!! He is living his life how he wants to and I can't thank the staff at Parkland for helping him achieve his goal!

My parents thoroughly enjoyed their independent living cottage for 2.5 years. The "nutritious" food that was offered was very processed and the protein choices were often difficult for my father to chew with his missing teeth. After trying to work with the administrator and kitchen for 6 months with menu suggestions, we were given a $300 credit on the monthly rent and asked to fix our own meals. This was compounded by extended wait time for routine maintenance---3 weeks for replacing 4 light bulbs in the kitchen. We also requested replacement of the older toilets with ADA approved models for the height requirement and that was delayed for weeks for "quotes" and then we realized that a move to another facility was unavoidable. It was devastating to my parents to not be able to utilize the assisted living portion of this retirement community and remain with the friends they had made, but the meals offered affected my father's health. It was also distressing to see the revolving door of employees in management and in services. This could be an affordable choice for advancing care but nutrition is a very basic tenet to good health and we were sorry to leave.

Beautiful community and very friendly staff. They all were so welcoming the minute I walked in the door. It was so great to see how happy the residents were and the smiles they had on their faces. I would highly recommend this community for a loved one
