My dad had exceptional care at Sparr Heights with both assisted living and memory care areas. The memory care is best in class with the most caring staff and specially designed activities to help with memory loss. I highly recommend this place.

One of the hardest things that anyone has to do is to make the decision to put a parent/family member in assisted living. Of course everyone wants to stay in the comfort of their own home. Unfortunately not everyone can do that as they decline physically or mentally and family members are not trained professionals when it comes to this type of care. I will be forever grateful to the Staff and the beautiful home like surroundings my dad was surrounded with during is final chapter. Fabulous dining, entertainment, crafts, exercise, sing alongs the list goes on....and I was able to be a part of that as well. I miss those days. Not only was he well cared for and made lots of friends along the way, he and I had a beautiful extended family at Sparr Heights. That extended family will be a forever family to me. My dad passed away on September 10, 2025. I can not imagine not having this great group of people there by my side during such a difficult time, as I do not have any sibling support, Sparr Heights was an enormous support system for me. If anyone is on the fence making this decision, I hope this helps.

Wanted to take a moment to recognize Sparr Heights and their exceptional community and staff. Specifically, I'd like to highlight Linda, Nancy, Torri, Denise, and Miar for always showing how much care they provide for not only our Anthem/CareMore residents that we see there, but just everyone that seems to come in to their community. Our team was there yesterday and walked into a room of engaged residents having fun playing bingo, then they allow us to celebrate their birthdays with them with cake. Truly a fun time with music and games! I'd recommend anyone in the Montrose and surrounding area to come check them out!

As an estate planning attorney, I go to many senior living homes. Sparr Heights is fantastic. Linda, the director, is organized, caring and all around a pleasure to speak with. The place is clean and has so many great activities for their residents. I have clients that live there and they are very happy. I highly recommend from a personal and professional perspective.

The staff and residents here are wonderful! They made my 87 year old mother feel welcomed and cared for. She engages with the warm community atmosphere and there are fun activities everyday. Also, the staff communicates well with our family to ensure that we know how she is doing. They support by making doctor appointments and providing transportation. Its super helpful! Linda and her staff have really been a blessing during this challenging transition to senior living. We have referred friends looking for such a community for their loved ones.

I am sharing the review I posted on Yelp recently about Sparr Heights Senior Care - Assisted Living which I cannot praise highly enough. I'm not sure about the complaint about the memory care facility - my mom have experienced the exact opposite situation in assisted living - we have found the staff is extremely attentive and responsive to every need. I give them a hearty and enthusiastic 5 star rating!! Here is the review I left on Yelp and it still stands today: My 92 year old mom moved into Sparr Heights assisted living in November. It was not an easy choice for her, as she is a very independent soul. My brother and I were worried that the transition would be very painful for her, as she really wanted to continue living alone, but that was not possible anymore. We saw other places, but from the minute we came to Sparr Heights, we knew it was the one. And more importantly, my mother did, too. It was love at first sight! And now it has been 4 months and my mom has totally adjusted and is loving it! Everyone is so accommodating there to my mom's every need! So professional, kind and sweet and they make every resident feel like a king or queen! I never have to worry about her - they recently had a resident with COVID and they immediately took the proper actions and the COVID did not spread! They kept my mom safe from COVID and I'm so grateful for that. The food is wonderful, the residents are wonderful and it's in a great little neighborhood. It's kept very clean and proper; the maintenance is first rate. It has an upbeat and happy atmosphere with good activities and my mom is extremely happy. It has changed my life, knowing that my mom is safe, happy and so very well looked after. Thank you Cynthia and Linda and all of the brilliant staff!!

If you have a loved one with dementia, look elsewhere. Their memory care ward is understaffed and because of that the caregivers they do have don’t have enough time to take care of someone with advanced, combative dementia. To alleviate the situation, they attempt to pressure family and physicians to medicate patients into being docile, bordering on perpetually asleep. Housekeeping is also understaffed, leading to carelessness. Numerous clothing items will be lost in the wash, potentially sent to some other resident. If something is spilled in a room by a resident, it takes a very long time to get it cleaned up. Lots of thoughtlessness abound in their workers. My father fell 4 times in 5 weeks, and each time he was sent to the ER without enough clothes to keep him warm. They sent him in whatever he was wearing. I give them 2 stars because the memorycare project director, Tina, seems to really care for the residents and works with them to the best of her ability.

Sparr Heights Estates is the ideal community for anyone seeking a continuation of a 5 star lifestyle. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Anyone who meets the Administrator, EJ, for the first time, knows Sparr Heights is in secure hands with management and that it is a fun, happy place! It’s nestled in beautiful Montrose, CA and they have residents walk down to Trader Joe’s for independent shopping which is right around the corner. When I walked into the lobby, residents were laughing in conversation with each other and the Beatles were playing overhead immediately giving it a warm, engaging vibe. I recently had one of my nurses travel here to work at Sparr Heights and out of all the places I’ve sent her to across the nation, she said, hands down, Sparr is the nicest community I’ve ever been a part of in Sr. Living. Sparr Heights is one of the best Assisted Living communities around and you’re in great hands choosing this home for yourself or a loved one.

Most recently our family had to come to terms with placing our father in an assisted living home. After looking at many facilities we decided on Mountview Elmcroft in Montrose. From our first meeting with Victoria Spencer we were convinced this place was the one for our Dad. Everyone from the receptionist to his caretakers to the meal supervisor have been nothing but kind to us and our Dad. During the transition, we made plenty of calls and visits and asked many questions and everyone we spoke to eased our fears and made us feel comfortable. We can not express how much we appreciate all the hard work the staff has done to make my Dad feel comfortable in his new home.

My son and I had to recently place his Dad and my ex husband in an assisted living facility a few weeks ago.My son has worked so hard trying to find the perfect place for his Dad.To say the least it has not been easy for him at all.Extremely stressful time for him.So many places were rude to him,never returned his calls and he honestly was beside himself.Then he was given the name of Mountview Senior Living and everything changed.All for the good.I remember him calling me telling me about the woman named Victoria and how nice she was to him and how she made him feel so comfortable.She was so on top of things while moving forward with the process.When she told my son she’d call him back, she always did.She was kind and so knowledgeable and gave him a feeling of comfort to this very stressful process of finding the right place for his Dad.His Dad moved in to Mountview about 3 weeks ago and we couldn’t be more pleased.His Dad seems happier, healthier looking and my son knows he made the right choice.He can now go to work knowing his Dad is happy and safe.We are so grateful for Victoria and her team at Mountview for everything.

Mountview assisted living is a beautiful community to live. The location is perfect. Located literally 5 min walking distance from old town Montrose which is where they have variety of restaurants, a bowling alley, a movie theater, coffee shops and shopping. And the pretty mountain views looking out your window is also a huge plus. The inside of the assisted living is also very clean and beautiful. I would definitely recommend seeing the community if you haven't yet.

We recently had to move my 88 year old father into an assisted living community. We visited several and just didn't feel that they were a right fit. Upon entering Mountview and being greeted by Nikkianna Dyer, we knew we had found the right place. Nikki made us feel right at home and she and my father hit it off immediately, he often tells me that they joke and laugh together. This is just what my father needed. The entire staff is warm and caring and totally dotes on my father. It's that place where everyone knows his name. The facility itself is clean and well maintained, definitely a cut above any other facility we visited. They offer daily activities, a choice of meals and occasional outings. We feel comfortable and relieved knowing he is safe and well cared for.

My sister has been living in the Mountview Assisted Living facility in Montrose for over a year. She has a very nice, clean room, LOVES the staff and many of the residents. She very much enjoys the many activites and occasional outings. We, her family are very impressed with how well the staff knows her and attends to her own emotional needs, as well as the physical needs. She obviously feels very much "at home" there. So much so that sometimes when we take her out, she is anxious to get back to her "friends." We highly recommend this facility.

Nice staff. expensive if the person needs 24 hour assistance and can't do regular functions. The price is better if the person can take care of themselves. The food is Sysco and is pretty average - I won't eat it. My 90 year old father does get pretty good care though, despite the price. And the place is close to the hospital if the ambulance needs to get him. Getting old is expensive in the USA, you can spend half the amount but then you have a 1-3 roommates and my dad would have hated that. It still sucks getting really old, according to my dad... The alternative is not that good either...
