I have been living in this community for almost six months now, and I can honestly say I have zero regrets. The overall environment is beautiful, and there are plenty of great areas for walking. The vibe here is always incredibly positive, and the neighbors are genuinely friendly. A huge shoutout to the amazing staff as well”they are always attentive and watchful over our needs, making sure everything runs smoothly. If you're looking for a welcoming, positive place to live, I highly recommend it!

After my mom passed away, we wanted to move my dad closer to me in San Diego, but it was a big and emotional transition after 47 years of marriage. The thought of him living alone felt daunting. We’re so grateful we found Monte Vista Village. The community is warm, welcoming, and offers wonderful support with meals, housekeeping, activities, transportation, and assisted living if ever needed. What we especially love is the layout. It’s a charming single-story community with individual apartments that feels more like a peaceful neighborhood than a large building. The landscaping is beautiful, with tropical plants, trees, and even a koi pond. The staff truly care about the residents. Ashley in Sales and Marketing made the move-in process seamless, Adrian in Community Management is always available and helpful, James is quick with maintenance, and Gail at the front desk keeps everything running smoothly with a friendly smile. We’re incredibly thankful to have found such a safe and supportive community for my dad.

Adrian met us right time, took some information and listened to our needs. He then gave us an extensive tour of the property and all levels of care. As we walked he greeted every resident we came in contact with. The apartments were considerably smaller than others we had seen, and I just can’t deal with wall air conditioners once more. We weren’t able to taste or, therefore, comment on the food. The entire property was clean and well maintained. The interior garden was beautiful. The price was quite reasonable. If you can handle wall air conditioners this is the place For you.

My Mom (then 94) was at MVV for almost 2 1/2 years; Independent Living was good as she met people thru activities and felt at home. The staff were exceptional....then she needed to move into the Assisted Living rooms nearby. I credit MVV for keeping her safe through Covid. However, MVV then sold to a "profit over people" new company that fired most of the staff, replacing a smaller number with young, "transactional" not "relational" staff who played on their phones after tasks were completed. No effort to get to know my mother, who needed staff to speak loudly and clearly, tell her why and what was happening...etc. The last straw was horrific: I visited her on a Friday and all was well, visited her on Sunday and noticed she was wearing a hospital medical band!!! And she had staples in her head!! She was confused and couldn't remember what happened. I had never been called and no one seemed to know anything about it. I was promised a full investigation but never heard back. As soon as possible, I got her into a Board and Care where she lived safely and very well cared for until she died a year later.

I spent a wonderful time in my ample studio which was provided with individual heater and air conditioning units. The staff was always ready to guide us professionally thru the many activities that inundated my schedule.I must mention the dinning room waitresses which were always giving us an excellent service. Kudos for everybody!

My dad moved into Monte Vista Village in February and has been very pleased with his stay so far. The campus is beautiful and well maintained, the rooms are more spacious and more affordable compared to the senior community he was at previously. The rooms are all single story ground level with easy access from multiple streets. Jackie, in admissions, is very kinda and helpful, we are very grateful to her for all her help with getting dad moved in!

My mom is thriving here with her new friends, meals provided, happy hour a few times a week, very healthy outdoorsy environment, great staff, I can't say enough about how happy the family is with her living at Monte Vista Village. Great place to live. My sister moved in earlier this year. We searched many places. By far this was the best place, affordable and nice layout for the apartments and surroundings. Amenities are standard across San Diego, but the staff at Monte Vista goes the extra mile. My sister loves it. There is a sense of community. She has made many friends. She is more independent. They have live bands and dancing. The food they serve is surprisingly very good for a retirement home and family can eat there as well for a reasonable fee. They take her to all her appointments, shopping and movies. They help with her electronic devices, helped her put up her Christmas tree. They have Palm trees, flowers, waterfall, she can plant flowers in front of her apartment, has her own patio. Nice area to walk around the complex. People smile there, I didn’t see that in some places. If anyone is looking for a senior living home, look here before making a decision. You won’t be disappointed.

As a concerned daughter trying to find a pace for my mom to live in San Diego after she suffered a fall and TBI. She was a tough critic and was not happy about having to move into a Senior Living Community, but could no longer live on her own, and certainly unable to live with me in our second floor walk-up. I had such a good experience here, from our tour with Jackie to my first meal in the dining room. I had to order off the alternate menu - thank goodness they had a veggie burger and fries, cute little dinner salad and fresh fruit. Manny, the chef came out to say hello to my Mom and ask her if she had any special requests. He even gave her an extra cookie and ice cream for dessert. Serious brownie points! When my mom was sick, Scarlett and her neighbor Rose were kind enough to bring her tray to her room with extra orange juice. Everyone who lives here has been so kind and inclusive. I was really worried that my mom was too young and independent to make friends, however I was pleasantly surprised when she announced that she had found her "tribe". So to make a long story longer, here is a breakdown of what I have experienced on what we now refer to as "Campus". **Facilities and Amenities (5/5):** The facilities are nothing short of impressive. From well-maintained common areas to beautifully landscaped gardens, every corner exudes tranquility and care. Martha, who is in charge of the housekeeping brings Mom flowers to brighten her day, which reminds her of home. The apartments are spacious, with patios and everything is on the ground floor so Mom can navigate with her walker on her own. Comfortable and practical. **Staff Friendliness and Competence (5/5):** What truly sets Monte Vista Village apart is the exceptional staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by warm smiles and genuine concern. The staff members are not only professional but also compassionate, making the residents feel like they're part of an extended family. Monica and Barbara explained everything to me several times answering all of our questions and concerns without the least bit of impatience. You can tell they legitimately like working with seniors and their families. **Activities and Events (5/5):** The community organizes a variety of activities and events to keep residents engaged. From Happy Hour with live music to Root beer Floats on Thursday. Some of the residents even play the piano themselves, which I found lovely as well. Their programs cater to a broad range of interests, ensuring there's something for everyone. From arts and crafts to exercise class with Ashley, walking club, and town council, welcome committee and excursions. **Dining Experience (5/5):** The dining experience deserves a special mention. The chefs at Monte Vista Village create delicious and nutritious meals that cater to different dietary needs. The dining room is vibrant, fostering a sense of community during mealtime. **Health and Safety Measures (5/5):** In the current times, health and safety are paramount. Monte Vista Village has implemented robust measures to ensure the well-being of its residents. The cleanliness standards are impeccable, and I witnessed a commitment to following health guidelines diligently. **Community Atmosphere (4/5):** The overall atmosphere at Monte Vista Village is serene and friendly. Residents seem content and enjoy a sense of independence while having the support they need. Monte Vista Village Senior Living Community in Lemon Grove is a gem for seniors seeking a comfortable and enriching lifestyle. The dedication of the staff, the quality of facilities, and the attention to residents' needs make it a top-notch choice in the senior living landscape. The support that Adrian and his staff have given my family is enough to keep my Mom happy and engaged and me hopeful.

First, the gardens and trees are stunningly like being in Hawaii. Secondly, all staff are kind, friendly, competent and helpful [director, A.L. provider, restaurant workers, cleaning]. Meals, grounds and rooms are well maintained and presented. The director has directly helped us when needed. These are the essential comforts of living and they do an excellent job. Price is very reasonable.

I wish I could base my review on what I actually saw of the place but unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately as I would soon find out) we never got an actual tour of it. Driving to it I saw neighborhood left much to be desired but alas there could be diamonds buried in the coal. Anyway, we had a tour scheduled for 1pm on July 3rd with [name removed], confirmed a few days before by said person. Upon our arrival the front desk staff appeared genuinely surprised we were there however maybe [name removed] never passed the message on that there were prospective residents coming to see the place at this time. We were then advised that [name removed] had gone to lunch 15 minutes prior to our arrival and after waiting another 15 minutes for the presumed half hour lunch break to end we realized that [name removed] was either taking an hour lunch or had completely forgotten our appointment. We had another showing to go to and couldn't wait any longer. Meanwhile, the staff at the front desk, in full view of us as the lobby was quite small, never spoke to us again, even after seeing we were getting up to leave, having given up on the prospective tour. As we were leaving there was not even a "hey wait, where are you going?" or "We're still looking for someone to show you around.." etc. and we quietly slipped out and onto our next prospective residence. I was thinking to myself as we were leaving, if this is how they treat prospective residents, best foot forward for the 1st impression and all, what would we have been in for had we signed a lease? A bullet dodged indeed.

I moved to Monte Vista Oct. 2020 and love it here. The staff is caring and oh so helpful. I enjoy the meals and the greenery around every corner. Flowers blossom all year too. With good access to town, this is the least expensive community I looked at!

My mother said she hasn't been this fulfilled in years. I can't believe what you get for the money. The meals the housekeeping the entertainment! Oh my the activities and entertainment I think are above and beyond. The grounds are beautiful. Every apartment opens to the outside. The staff is so caring and hard-working. I am so happy my mom is here. I feel so welcome there. I feel like we are all family.
