A lap pool is free to all residents but cost $60/month for outsiders. A huge hot tub is inviting and fun. The meals are excellent. I especially enjoy all the fresh fruit and muffins. Coffee is delicious and ready for me before the meal. A cream puff is a piece de resistance. Some of the activities here are: sing alongs, bingo, swimming, physical therapy, and ice cream socials. The facilities are beautiful, kept clean, and well maintained. Staff is very friendly and work to please. I don't fine management rude; they have been very cooperative and understood my needs.

Public Pool information! Older pool but well maintained. The air is warm and the water is warm too, great for kids and families. You can even host private events with the pool area to yourself! Open 4-7pm on weekdays for the public (not open weekends)

We have been very appreciative of the kind and genuine care our mother has received since becoming a resident. Having been through this before with another parent who suffered from dementia, we had an idea of what to expect. Instead literally everyone we have encountered with mom’s care has been compassionate and qualified. This has been a wonderful surprise and our family is grateful to have this facility in our backyard so mom continues to receive the care she needs as her abilities continue to decline.

Such a great, welcoming and caring staff. It's a beautiful facility and is very clean. I was very impressed with the care they provide. They have many features there. The place also seems like it's really close with the community. It's a very great place and I highly recommend it.

Charming facility wish I could give it more than five stars! A true Leelanau gem. Incredibly beautiful setting that can’t compare with any other Assisted-living and memory care. Access to incredible outdoor spaces lots of amenities, including a heated indoor pool. Top-notch care with individualized care plans.

I have grown to know the Northport Highlands through my husband's year-long stay there. While I rarely provide reviews anywhere, it's important to share my input, as what I have experienced, what my husband continues to experience, and what I see almost daily, is worthy of sharing to those who may be seeking a caring living environment for a loved one. The Highlands is clean, friendly, diverse in population and staff, attentive to individual needs of residents, and offers a wide variety of activities to keep residents involved. As a facility, it has the ONLY indoor swim pool in Leelanau county, which is open to residents and resident families. Two exercise areas have just about any machines/equipment one needs. Ice cream socials, coffee and donuts, happy hour . . . and music happens with weekly singalongs, piano concerts, and outside musicians visiting. The staff is local - key to consistency and presence. Pets are welcome. Apartments are large with plenty of storage space in them as well as a separate large closet just outside of each one. The location is on one of the most coveted areas in the country -- Leelanau County. Just off M22, the building is perched on a hill with some great views of the bay. It's a peaceful environment in a small, iconic town. Come visit and see for yourself!
