We spent several years there and enjoyed ourselves once we got over the downsizing trauma. Staff was friendly and helpful and made our stay happier. Unfortunately we had to move to another facility due to increased medical needs of my wife. We regret the move but it was necessary and unavoidable. Having lived here for one and one half years, I have some serious concerns. During COVID my husband and I tested positive. We had to leave the facility immediately, yet we found out later that other residents were permitted to stay. A serious concern is the pendant system used to respond to resident needs. We have waited at long at 1/2 hour for service. Still another concern is the food. Breakfast is better than good, but the other two meals are unsatisfactory, both in food quality and variety. I am very pleased with the caregivers and housekeeping staff. They do an excellent job. The hot water system has NEVER been fixed. Residents must wait a long time for the water to get hot, if it gets hot at all. Needless to say, management needs to address these issues. We are pleased with the apartment itself. We have a two bedroom unit with plenty of windows. I am aware that we have lived through some unpresidented times. Hopefully, things will get better for everyone.

I would not recommend Elan to anyone. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, however, they seemed to have their hands tied in order to do anything or fix anything. The office staff (exception Chris and Sarah) were often rude and unfriendly. The director was great at first and then she became nonexistent. They were always "working on it", but it never would get fixed. The chef was good, but the meat he had to work with was poor quality meat. The food therefore was awful and was served cold more often than hot. Everything was always blamed on Corporate (who never answered the phone and never returned calls). The washers and dryers needed to be replaced years ago. It took hours to dry anything. The vacuum cleaners needed to be replaced also. They put out more dirt than they picked up. Very sad at how quickly this place went from good to terrible in the 3.5 years that my mother lived there.

I was met with a cheerful greeting and Community Relations Director who was very friendly and well prepared for my visit. She answered all my questions and addressed any concerns I had. As we toured the facility, I observed how well she knew all the residents. It was enjoyable to see how she interacted with all we met along the way. This is where my dad called home for 6 months. Most of the 6 months was without us due to COVID.We were finally able to come in when he was active on Hospice. This past week we learned how loved he was. How each person that cared for him made him feel special and safe. His cranky confused dementia, still didnt ruin his ability to win hearts.I will never be able to remember everyones name that spoke to us and shared stories about my dad. Thank you for loving him Britaine, Meagan, Paola, Connie, Candace, Addison and all of you that stopped by to say goodbye and share your stories and love for my dad. Im sorry I cant recall every name. You made the last 6 months bearable and happy for him. You gave him a safe place and gave him his dignity. Thank you so much. From all of us.... Most of all from my Dad. ❤

I just moved my father into Elan Westpointe about 14 months after my mother passsd away. It has been a blessing that he now has so many activities, nice meals and quality care. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to the residents. While he has only been at Elan 3 weeks, I can already tell he is more comfortable with his environment vs living alone. We are very encouraged with our experiences so far. A very clean and upscale facility with a family environment.

This place has been an answer to our prayers. We moved mom in there this month and are just overwhelmed by how friendly the manager Terry is along with the other managers there. They really seem to care and are always available when we need them. Mom has never looked better and is so happy. So happy to have a place like this in New Braunfels.

I have been researching Memory Care facilities for my spouse for a number of months and after looking at several in the New Braunfels and San Marcos area I decided on Elan Westpointe. They are under new management since November 2016, the previous management had a lot to be desired. The basis for my decision was dependent on a few very important factors to me. They were 1.- facility cleanliness, 2.- general friendly atmosphere, 3.- safety for my spouse, 4- proper medication maintenance, 5- number of attendants present throughout the day ( no less than 2 during night shift), 6-Most important **TLC**!! (the continuous interaction of staff and residents in maintaining an enjoyable standard for my spouse, 7- good communication with staff and administrators, 8- pricing, of course. In summarizing, all of the above conditions were met to my satisfaction. They were not the costliest nor the cheapest, but having met my conditions, cost was acceptable. Carrie and Terry (administrators - management) and the Memory Care Staff are absolutely wonderful with my wife. I feel blessed that after searching for the perfect place I found them. Thank you Elan Westpointe Team.

This community is amazing. My mom just moved last week and we feel so blessed. She was really depressed at home and we have been trying to move her into an assisted living for over a year. We went and toured all of the assisted livings in the new braunfels area. She wasn't satisfied with any of them until we went to Elan. The people are so wonderful. The food, the activities, the community! At first she thought it was too nice for her, but then quickly realized how nice the staff was and how nice all of the residents are. I can whole heartedly recommend this community! It has been the best thing for my mom.

I pulled up to the building and walked into the lobby thinking I was at a boutique hotel the whole time. Only after the concierge explained it to me did I learn that this was in fact a luxury retirement community with healthcare services. Totally impressed by the place...and the Concierge!!
