The Barclay is a very nice place. My mother has been here almost 2 years and the only big complaint is the food. It has a lot to be desired. I thought maybe it was just us but I have found out different talking to other residents. They served rice one night this week and mom was eating in her room a friend came by and said it's sad they can't even cook rice. Something needs to be done quickly I think it could be better if they just cooked old fashion meals and did not try to make it out something it is not..........Please help the residents they pay lots of money for crappy food.

Today visiting mom was a good visit as usual. However, I was quite disappointed in A couple of house keeping Issues.I couldn’t find toilet paper for my mothers bathroom and had to clean her room as I usually do on Sunday The staff is very common but overwhelmed!

I had the opportunity to spend some time at the Barclay House of Tarboro, and I was truly impressed with the community. The layout is thoughtfully designed, with inviting spaces that encourage socializing both indoors and outdoors. The updated, classy d©cor throughout the community creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The amenities are outstanding”a beautiful library area offers the perfect place to relax with a good book, and the resident rooms are both comfortable and well-appointed. The dining experience was exceptional, featuring an amazing menu prepared by a talented chef. What stood out most to me, though, was the staff. They were not only professional and respectful but also genuinely warm and caring, which made the community feel like home. I would highly recommend the Barclay House of Tarboro to anyone seeking a vibrant, comfortable, and supportive place to live.

The Jane seemed like a dream place to transition my mom from her home of 35+ years. The atmosphere is friendly, cozy and inviting. My mom's transition has been difficult; exacerbated by her transition of meds. It in fact has been incredibly stressful. If you are placing your loved one at The Jane, my advice to you is to get a very clear, concise plan of action/instructions in writing. One week later, her meds are still not being administered. Incredibly frustrating indeed...

The residents and staff (team members) are all quite happy here and I found few complaints. Residents are generally well pleased with care and the meals served here which are offered in an elegant setting resembling a fine restaurant.

My father-in-law spent his last couple years at The Jane, the staff is absolutely amazing. He was suffering from dementia and they were so patient and understanding with him. I seen to ladies at the nail shop in Tarboro and it was nice seeing the gentleman drop them off at the door and come back to get them in front of the door. I visited The Jane a few times in the last month. The community is FULL of the friendliest people, from employees to other people that live there. Julie the executive director, Rhonda the Community Relations/Admission Director and several others are super impressive and they really know the residents and strive to take excellent care of them. One family member described Julie as a "blessing to him" while I was touring. I witnessed a new move in, and the community really rolled out the red carpet for this sweet couple! The Jane is a staple in the Tarboro community and beyond. I can say with 100% certainty that I would recommend The Jane!

I was worried it could be a difficult transition for them to leave their home of 40+yrs, but Rhona and Jeannie have been so warm and welcoming, my parents are excited for the move. Both of my parents recently moved to The Fountain at the same time. They have since transitioned to different living situations. The administration, nurses, caregivers, and staff have been wonderful and so caring during their challenges and transitions. Our family could not be more pleased with the Memory Care Unit at the Fountains at the Albemarle. It is never easy to see a loved one go through dementia, but our loved one is not just existing at the Albemarle, she is thriving! I am glad I found this continuing care facility for my sister. She began in Independent Living and is now in Skilled care. The staff are professional, friendly and accommodating. They all are respectful and act with integrity. There are social activities twice a day, and a few field trips. Prior to choosing The Fountains, I visited a few facilities in nearby Greenville, and the atmospheres I encountered were rigidly institutional and smelly! And, I do not like to make comparisons in print, let me say I live next door to a huge continuing care community with apartments, patio homes, a salt water indoor pool, etc., and the care is not as good as what The Fountains offers.

Not a nice place. We moved my Mom away from the memory care unit there today. They went up $1500.00 per month on her bill with no good explanation. There is a laundry list of problems at the Albemarle. Sad.
