Bed not ready when I arrived, the van transport driver helped a CNA make the bed. No call button, supposedly broken for 8 months. Menu wasn't provided for several days, and when filled out, wasn't followed. Was supposed to have Home Health starting this past Monday, but the referral paperwork wasn't completed and so still (Wednesday) don't have PT or even a schedule for PT. VERY frustrating experience.

It is clean and attractive. The staff trys very hard to be pleasent and accommodating. The food is well prepared , attractive and healthy albeit very bland do to the dietary restrictions of so many of the residents. Nice library. Responsive staff at all levels. They do need MUCH MORE of a range in the "activities". They need at least one choice of a TRULY educational option and more solid performers. We have some bright well educated folks here. Although "craft projects" and games are fine ,some intellectually stimulating choices are much needed .And a dance class would be a fun exercise option.

In the setting of a nursing shortage and abundant challenges in health care, the care and attention paid to my family was second to none. All of the RNs, LPNs, and aids provided compassion, comfort and support. They anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them, and welcomed us warmly. Instead of visitors we felt like guests. They patiently listened to our questions (even the ones they had already answered) and helped us to be a part of our loved-one's care team. Medications were right on time, and our loved was was kept relaxed and comfortable. As a nurse myself, I have pretty high standards, and Harbor Hill staff truly went above and beyond. We are so grateful for their kindness, professionalism and love. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Our family relative has moved to the assisted living floor a couple of months ago from another facility :Harbor Hill is such a great place as it has activities, regular church services, library, and a lovely walkway for the residents to go out to go around the outside of the facility. The best part is the view from the back of the harbor that they get when they are outside. This is such a welcome change for our family member as all they did was stay in their room and sleep as there was really nothing for them to do. The staff at Harbor Hill are friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand to the patients and to the outside visitors. Our family and friends are very impressed with the facility and glad our member is there.

My mother has been at Harbor Hill for over a year now. Although the adjustment to residential living was difficult, she is both happier and healthier than when she struggled to live alone. Staff have been very supportive and helpful and she enjoys the many activities, especially the music. After trying two other providers we finally found Harbor Hill. We are very pleased with the staff’s care and sensitivity regarding Mom’s dementia and anxiety. They communicate regularly and professionally with our family. Licensed therapies, services and activities are provided and we experience a timely response to any questions or concerns.

The absolute first thing I noticed upon arrival to Harbor Hill was the wonderful views, and the stately structure itself. Upon entering the building, the first observation made was simply this; It didn't smell like a typical nursing home. Not only did it not have "that odor", it was visibly clean and well attended to. I had pleasant interactions with all the staff I encountered and left confident that if needed, my loved ones would be well taken care of here.

Harbor Hill is located on the beautiful bay in Belfast Maine. While the view and location are incredible, it is the people that truly make Harbor Hill the wonderful place that it is. The staff at the center care and are committed to the patients and residents. During this past challenging year due to Covid, they have worked hard to insure the safety of residents by providing care and activities in accordance with federal and state guidances. Would recommend to anyone.
