My mom, sister, and I recently toured Legend as a potential living environment for our mom. We were met at the front door by Ed, the sales director and were immediately impressed with an upscale, friendly, and welcoming feeling. The staff is helpful, attentive, and friendly as well. Ed was kind enough to have a delicious, restaurant quality lunch served to us. The apartment options are roomy and within the price range of several other facilities options but not nearly as impressive as Legend. A decision was made within a very short time, that Legend would be my mom's and families choice. I am confident that the care, compassion and beautiful environment will exceed our expectations. Thankyou Ed and staff for making us feel cared for.

From the first interaction with Ed Roach, I knew that I had found the place for my mother. We were in a time crunch and Ed and Ashley worked quickly to get the evaluation completed so that my mother would be able to move in immediately. Marilyn provided us notary services so we didn’t have to find one and everyone else has been most helpful. When they tell you that this will be your parents’ home, they mean it. They provide services with care and compassion. A truly wonderful find and experience.

We met with Ed today regarding placement for mom in assisted living. He did a great job answering all our questions. The whole place was very nice. The room is about right for the cost. Prices are reasonable for this area. Only downside was they do not accept Medicaid when funds are depleted. We would have to deal with that and move her down the road. We are going back tomorrow and taking mom for a visit.

The person that we did the tour was great. The people that worked there were great. The different Appartments were very nice. The rest of the building seemed a bit gloomy. To me the wall paint needed to be lighter. The lighting needed to be brighter and l didnt like the carpeting. Those are just my opinions. Otherwise im sure its a great place. Thank you for letting me and my wife tour your place.

We moved our elderly 94-year-old father into Legends in January 2023. This was a big change for him, but we were hoping this would cure his loneliness, and that it did. The staff made him feel so welcome as did the residents. Everyone fell in love with the smiley guy who loved to fist-bump and thumbs up everyone in the dining hall as he entered it. From the Director, Nursing Staff, Aides, Cleaning crew, kitchen crew and waiters/waitresses, clergy they were all caring and giving selflessly. They all provided dad with the best of care and experience while he was there. If he didn't show up down at the dining facility, they would go to his apartment and ask if he was coming down and if he said no, he didn't feel like they it, they would ask if he wanted a tray brought to him. They would always fact-find for the reason of not eating. Was he sick? Was he upset about something? Was he just being lazy? Then depending on the answer, the aide would go from there. This is genuine caring as far as I am concerned. That is why we feel we made the best choice by placing our father at Legends. The times that he had to be hospitalized for low blood and needed transfusions, I would be with him, and the doctor would come in and ask him if there was anything else he could do for him, dad would say yes, you can send me back home. I want to go home. The doctor would then ask where is this home you are so anxious to get back to? Dad would perk up and say the Legends, of course! I almost dinner time and they serve the best meals. Another time in the hospital for several days, and the doctor came in and ask him if there was anything else he could do for him and he said yes, I need you to keep me alive to my 96th birthday. The doctor asked, why is that? Dad replied, because where I live at the Legends, they have the best birthday parties ever and I want to celebrate that one with all my friends and the staff. If that doesn't tell you what a great place this is to put your parent or even yourself in one day, then I don't know what does. It is clean, smells great and the staff is wonderful. He had a great year and a half with the Legend at Capital Ridge, and we will miss seeing the staff and the residents we got to know thru dad.

My father lived here for approximately a year and a half until he passed away at age 96. He enjoyed not only the other residents but also the staff. He considered this his home. All of my interactions with the staff showed me that they really cared about his well being and happiness.

I love this place and its philosophy for my mother. It's open and friendly, very welcoming and encourages independence and positivity. Love all the activities they offer that stimulate cognitive function and provide socialization. I thought the adjustment period would be much longer. She has been there a week and is already adapting even with her short term memory deficit. Staff is attentive. Everything I've asked for or about has been addressed in the moment.

It has only been a few weeks that my mother has been moved in. Her main complaint is about food. She doesn't care for some of the menu items. I personally haven't eaten there and I will say she has been quite demanding over the last 10 years at any restaurant I have visited with her. Other then that, I think she is starting to feel more comfortable there. It's very difficult to make this transition. Our family has been overall pleased with the facility and the employees.

I placed 5 stars because this facility deserves this rating. My mother was in a rehab facility. I had tried other places with no avail. I was running out of time for my mother to be in rehab, she either goes to a facility or she goes home, mainly because of insurance. Legend came in just at the last minute, did a assessment on my mom and agreed to take her. Prior to mom's scheduled admittance, I toured the facility. It is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Very well maintained, the residents there were extremely happy and the staff was amazing. They understood the situation I was in, having never been in a situation like that. They were very patient and kind, answered all of my questions and walked me through the process. Unfortunately, the night before mom was to be transferred she spiked a fever and was admitted into the hospital, she never did make it to live at legend as her condition worsened almost over night and was transferred out of Topeka for surgical intervention. I know had my mother been able to live at legend she would have enjoyed her time there. I highly recommend this facility, they treat you like family and genuinely care about their residents.

When I visited Legend, I was looking for a safe and homey place for my elderly Mother who suffers from memory loss and cognitive impairment. During these first weeks, the staff has gone above and beyond to make her feel welcome while getting to know her abilities and limitations. They have treated her with the utmost kindness - as if she were a member of their respective families. It seems we have indeed found a new home for her.

A Perfect Home For Mother. We were very impressed with Legend at Capital Ridge during our first phone conversation with Julie. As we were vetting the facility, we kept thinking that this is to good to be true. Mom is in her second month living in her new apartment and she loves it. Legend continues to impress us. Selecting a facility and making the move in the age of Covid is a real challenge. Legend demonstrated strict but appropriate precautions to assure the safety of all residents and staff. Their commitment to safety is comforting. Every interaction that we have had with staff members has been positive. They have all gone the extra mile to help mom get settled and to make her feel at home. I enthusiastically recommend Legend at Capital Ridge.
