A very nice facility with a caring staff and good meals
April 2024
My mother has been a resident at Wellington Place for 5 months, and I have many good things to say about this experience. The residence is very cozy, clean, and homey. I have found the staff always friendly, caring, and accommodating, including during mealtime. The food is very good! It's like one big family here, and I have come to know almost everyone by name. I'm confident that Wellington Place is the best place facility for my mother, at this time in her life. Thank you. I was in town visiting every day for the past week and I stand by everything I said 2 months ago and I want to add 3 things that impressed me. Catheter care: I observed staff coming in every day after lunch and emptying and recording the output. On two evenings, staff correctly resolved issues regarding whether the catheter was working or not. The first time they determined that the catheter wasn't functioning correctly and promptly had it changed. The second time, the catheter was functioning, while my mom thought it wasn't. Staff thought it was due to a cramp and they correctly assessed the situation again. Secondly, I was impressed on how well they handled a power outage on 4-11 in the evening around resident bedtime. I was there earlier that day when they had a fire drill. They also reviewed tornado procedures at that time. Thinking they might be without lights as I was staying just a few blocks away, I was sure I didn't need to come in because they showed much competence in the drills and also in the interactions we've had. The next day when at my mom's table, residents appeared unphased by the emergency. They said staff communicated and instructed them. One woman nonchalantly got out a flashlight and continued reading until power returned. Thirdly, when my mom asked to be taken for a walk after dinner, the aides assisted with that right away. It takes two aides. The aides were enthusiastic and cheered her on to walk with youthful vigor that my mom is apparently quite responsive to. I am grateful to Wellington for helping restore my Mom's health. She is able to walk again after a fall that immobilized her for weeks. It is a place my family has convened and reunited.

When my husbands Alzheimers got to the point that I could no longer give him the care and help he needed and deserved I knew I had to find the right place for him. After touring Wellington Place and talking with Kristen, Andrea and Dawn I made the decision to move him there. He had many transition issues but their kindness and patience helped him. Even when he "escaped" a couple of times they remained so sensitive and underderstanding. Even though he was only there a few months I felt so comfortable with his care. And when he left us their compassion was beyond anything we expected. Thanks to Kristen and her entire staff (I really wish I remembered all of their names) Marks final months were peaceful.

Our Mom has 2 loving families - the children she raised with our Dad, grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as great great granddaughter and her Wellington family who show her love when we aren't around. Love you all

Mom was moved to Wellington Place at Whiting from a different assisted living facility due to declining care. Kristan was so helpful in providing information about Wellington and what they had to offer. Moms transition was not easy at first but the staff at Wellington was very caring. Mom settled in and received excellent care and had a room that overlooked green grass. She was very comfortable there during her stay. The staff was very attentive and met her needs. Great activities and entertainment were offered each week. Management provided excellent communication and guided us through the process when it was time to put Mom under Hospice care. Our family will be forever grateful for the care she received.

Great people providing good care! My mom moved to Wellington from another local facility and boy there was a big difference!! The staff was friendly, caring and respectful. They catered to my mom....personal preferences for dressing, bathing, activities, bed time and meals are accommodated. Special needs were met. I experienced great communication with the staff even though I lived a thousand miles away. Its not just a job...the staff here cares about each resident. They did a great job keeping residents safe during COVID.

Staff takes great care of residents. All one big family. During pandemic really stepped up as we couldnt come visit.

Exceptional care facility in the central Wisconsin area! My wife and I researched all Assisted Living Facilities in the area for my mother 3 years ago. We rated things like: home cooked meals, low turn-over of staff, staff-to-resident ratio, range and variety of activities for the residents, quality of rooms, special holiday gatherings, birthday celebrations, etc. While a couple facilities in the area had similar high ratings, my mother, after visiting, choose Wellington Place at Whiting. It was her decision and she has been extremely happy living there. At least once a week, she tells us that it feels like her second home. She likes that it is a smaller facility and loves the home cooked meals! We sleep easier knowing she is well taken care of, and most importantly, treated with respect by the staff at Wellington Place at Whiting.

I dont usually write reviews unless I am truly passionate about a product or in this case a residential care center, specifically Wellington Place Whiting. My husband of 50 years was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease in 2005 and as his disease progressed I found I was unable to give him the care we so desperately needed. For those of you who had to make these decisions for a loved one, you know how difficult this can be.Enter Wellington Place Whiting. The facility, itself, is just the right size to make it feel more like a home with the amenities of a living room, library, beauty shop, chapel, dining room and a very welcoming patio. The setting overlooks a lovely pond and the grounds bespeaks an eclectic flavor of treasured outdoor decor channeled to the residents. We all realize that aesthetics are just that. Besides the aesthetics you will find, at any given time, a good vibe going on with the offerings of activities and socialization. Heaven knows, this has been an essential need since COVID 19 arrived. The true heart beat of Wellington would be the people who work there. Every single one of them are my fellas and my extended family. They truly care!!! Never anything too big or too small for them. I always feel like we are their primary concern, but I also know that every family feels the same way. This all has made the transition to hisforever home a peaceful plan.I know as my guys disease progresses that he is in good hands, no the BEST hands. We are so truly blessed.

I wake every day thinking of Mom and how lucky she is to be at Wellington Place. Thank you for making Moms transition from our home to yours seamless. Its evident that Mom is happy living at Wellington and we have the entire staff to thank for this. Everyone is so attentive and caring. Kristan, you are the perfect Administrator. You manage all the book work and staff AND still find time to engage with Mom and the other residents. Dawn, you fit the title of Care Coordinator to a tee. You make sure Mom has everything she needs to keep her safe and healthy and you sincerely care about your residents. Joey, you get a big applause for creating activities that Mom and the other residents enjoy doing together. To all the Assistants, we think you are wonderful at what you do and you all seem to genuinely enjoy working at Wellington Place. Its nice to see everyone working together to make Mom feel at home. Best assisted living in Stevens Point-Plover area. I have been a caregiver for over 20 years, first for my mother, now as a volunteer guardian. The staff makes them the best. Other places have nice facility, but management and staff range from barely adequate to horrible. Wellington staff communicate so well and they are caring professionals. Highly recommend.

Anyone reading these reviews knows how difficult it is when you come to the point where you are contemplating assisted living for a loved one. I moved both of my parents into Wellington Place in January 2015 and they stayed there for the remainder of their lives.Words cannot express how grateful I am for the care and caring that they received from staff. It was obvious that the staff genuinely enjoyed my parents, which was not always easy in my opinion! My mother had dementia and she was beyond challenging at times. I was so impressed with the flexibility and creativity that was employed to help both of my parents remain safe and comfortable. I was also impressed with the effort that staff put into finding new and fun activities and parties for residents and their families. And pre-Covid, these folks go all out to throw some great theme and holiday parties! The facility itself is well maintained and always clean. There were some very nice updates during the time my parents lived there. We all hear the stories about under-staffed care facilities and frequent staff turn-over. I was a very frequent visitor and in my experience, staff were very responsive to residents needs. I have also observed that Wellington Place has very good staff retention. That alone tells you a lot about the work environment and the administration.Throughout this review, I have referred to the employees as staff. That is an inaccurate characterization. They are caregivers in the true sense of the word! I am so happy and so grateful that my parents and I became part of the Wellington family. When people ask me for recommendations for assisted living facilities, Wellington Place always tops my list.

We want to give a shout out to The Wellington Family. Yes, youre considered family to Bruce and me. You take excellent care of Mom, as if she were your own mother. We have parents that have been at Wellington for many years and I cant say enough how well they have been cared for. Tremendously caring staff that we see the same great staff year after year. In todays time, it is so heart warming to see very little or no turnover of staff. They are a true family that cares for our family and we are blessed they are now a part of our family. Peace.

Staff at Wellington are caring, compassionate, and efficient. They go above and beyond to take care of both my mom and dad that reside there. A great place to care for your loved one when it is no longer safe for them to live on their own. They truly care for their residents like they are family.

My husband feels very comfortable in Wellington Place. The staff is very caring, and the residents are so nice, they also have a lot of group activities, games, and live entertainment to keep the residents engaged and social. The place is a little older of a complex, a little well-used, so it could be cleaner, but overall, they do keep it well-maintained and tidy. Id recommend it to others.
