I'm a musician that spends most days performing concerts and doing music therapy at independent/assisted living communities, as well as memory care units. I'd venture to guess I've performed at more than 200 of these locations across New England. Great Woods always looks spectacular when I visit there and the staff also seems to be incredibly kind. The food also looks great. In my experience, it's a first-class place for seniors.

This past weekend I went to visit my great aunt, and honestly it was such a good experience. The place was really lively with a bunch of activities going on, so everyone seemed super engaged and social. My great aunt was busy and in a great mood, which made me feel really happy seeing how well she’s doing. The staff were super nice and attentive, and all the residents were really welcoming and polite too. It just felt like a really warm and positive environment, and it was comforting knowing she’s in a place like that.

The Residence at Great Woods for Senior/Assisted Living represents the highest of standards for the care of our loved ones. They treat each resident and patient in need with utmost dignity, respect, go above and beyond the services even needed. They handle our family members as if they are their own and have the same approach in communicating with those of us who are/ were fortunate enough to be able to entrust them with that precious care. Great Woods is blessed with a staff of not only incredible, but dedicated and skilled professionals who possess the special qualities necessary to take care of the elderly who are struggling physically, medically and cognitively. Our dad was a resident there for 5 years, initially in the general senior/assisted living area. Later on his final year, his condition required him to be moved to the memory unit. To say that our expectations were exceeded would be an understatement. The staff went way beyond that. We will forever be grateful to the leadership and staff at Great Woods for the impeccable and outstanding care provided to to our dad, as well as the way our family was treated and communicated with during the entirety of his stay. The level of service and care your dear loved family member receives at Great Woods is second to none. They are simply the best and any decision to place your loved one there will never be second guessed. You will have peace of mind.

My husband was in the Memory Care Unit at the Residence at Great Woods for one month. There was poor communication between staff members and lack of training for staff members.These factors combined to create additional health problems for my husband, that raised the monthly rate that the facility charged. There are well run memory care units in the area. This isn't one of them. Your response simply isn't true and is reflected in my comment that communication was poor. Your staff didn't work with us at all. My husband's condition changed as a result of the lack of training for your staff. Now that he is receiving proper care, he has returned to his baseline and the health conditions that your staff facilitatated, have been resolved.

We have nothing but great things to say about The Assisted Living side of The Residence at Great Wood’s. My 90 year old mother has short term memory loss and was living alone 3 hours away from any family member. She was forgetting to take medication and pay bills. It was getting dangerous for her to live alone. Now she is 10 minutes from my house. Everything is taking care of automatically here. All staff are very caring. She is safe and well cared for. To top it off she gets to dine in the dining hall 3 times a day. There are activities for those who want to get involved. It is also very clean. My mother is thriving here and is happy and content. Come check it out for a visit

We had my father move in at the beginning of Jan. We asked a lot of questions and worked with someone to help us find the best place for my dad. They have exceeded my dad's and my own expectations! Staff have been great and helpful to my dad. He initally had some concerns transitioning and now tells me it's the best thing he has ever done! So much so that he has volunteered to be an Ambassador to the facilitly. A HUGE thanks to Joanne Clukey for all of her help and support she gave to my dad during the transition. Joanne is a great representation of the commitment that ALL staff do to provide support and ensure all residents are welcome enjoy their time at the Residence. Speaking as someone who used to be an Assistant Director at a similar facility in South Boston it has been a great choice for my dad!

I was bowled over by the staff, who were friendly and helpful, making sure I had everything I needed. The Residence's facility is bright and warmly welcoming. And the best part of the day was the opportunity to meet the residents, who were a joy to chat with. They asked so many questions we could've talked all afternoon. Plus, we had tea and treats! My dad has been in memory care here since January 2025. Recently his brother passed away and we asked the head chef, Joe, if we could have 10 family members for a family lunch on a Sunday. Joe took care of all the arrangements, and when we arrived on our day, we found a fully set table in an adjacent area to the dining room. We were seated by our server, Nancy, and she and Joe catered to our every need, from coffee, soup, and main dishes, to dessert. My family raved about the quality of the food and the first class service. It is hard to believe the level of quality of the food that is served to the residents and guests here. I later found out that Joe had come into work JUST for our event. I visit the my dad frequently, at The Residence at Great Woods, and Joe always greets me if we pass in the hall. I have also spied him "shmoozing" with residents during mealtime at their tables. In total, this turns out to be the best decision we could have made for my Dad. Every single staff member has been friendly, and not only when there's someone watching, and they have been tremendously accommodating. Today's experience is yet another illustration that my Dad is in the best of hands. THANK YOU Joe and Nancy!

The executive chef came out to the initial meeting sent me home with something for my mom to enjoy and made several visits to make sure the food was to her liking. The CNA’s took very good care of my 91-year old mother. The Activities people were so much fun! There was a different activity for my mother throughout each day. She was never bored. The food is fantastic! A full meal 3 times a day including salad and dessert, plus a snack late afternoon. The place is very clean and they have a diffuser with a pine scent which is very calming. The walls are a nice sage green as this has been discovered that is the last color the elderly can see with ease. Her room had a beautiful view of the court yard which they have access to anytime because they will not become lost as all the doors lead to the same place. The nursing staff didn’t need reminders and were on top of my mother’s medications. Whenever I called with a concern, they returned my call soon and spent as much time as I needed to explain things. They dressed my mother in a respectful manner each day and made sure she was groomed even doing her nails. It is a secure section of the facility which placed our minds at ease. Unfortunately, 2 staff members contracted COVID which was passed on to my mother which resulted in her speedy decline and passing. But, one doesn’t realize they have COVID until they’ve already been around patients. Once the staff knew they had COVID, they stayed away until they were negative. When my mother died, the staff were very sympathetic and very helpful in processing her death and moving her things out.

I am a professional musician and I play piano and sing for the residents at The Residence At Great Woods. They have a large, comfortable area with chairs and couches where people gather to listen to the music. The staff is always friendly and accommodating to the residents, making sure everyone has a place to sit, and serving refreshments after the concert. I perform a lively concert of a different theme each time I am there with music from the generation of the residents there, including fun trivia about the songs. We always have a great time. I would recommend The Residence At Great Woods as an enjoyable place to live for seniors.

A heartfelt and heavy *Thank you!* to all the wonderful staff at The Residence at Great Woods. I wanted to find a place for my mom to enjoy her remaining years, but also had good people who truly cared, coupled with making the best possible decisions for someone who couldn't do that herself. Bringing my mom here was this and more. They gave her something to look forward to every day. Her nurses and staff became her family and she was content. She passed away in June and when multiple staff attended her funeral it became evident that the Residence was the best possible decision.

We feel so fortunate to have found a wonderful place for Mom to live and call home. Everyone from the Director Tiffany to all the Care Associates, Maintenance, Nursing, Engagement, and Wait Staff have been so kind to my Mom and our family. We had just lost our Dad and we were anxious to find a residence close to home that would be safe, clean, and offer good care to our Mom with Alzheimers. Great Woods has exceeded our expectations. The best indicator of the great care my Mom is receiving, is that after the loss of her husband (after 64years), moving her from her home in New Jersey a month ago, she says she is happy. She says she laughs alot and that's what keeps her mind off of being sad. She is with other residents that know what she has gone through and feels a comraderie in her new community. All of the staff have the residents best interests at heart and go above and beyond to meet their needs with kindness and compassion! Our family feels very blessed and grateful to have found Great Woods Residence!!

My father and mother were at anther assisted living facility. My father was in a memory unit. I started a search where they both could be together in one room. I looked at quite a few places. When I saw The Residence at Great Woods my search was over. It was unlike any of the other facilities. When you enter it looks like a resort. It is bright, clean, and welcoming. The residence rooms are just as nice. my parents are in the Reflections unit. My father has dementia. he gets disoriented. He can become angry and combative. The staff always treat him with respect. When he didn't want to go to dinner they brought 2 dinners to his room. When I was asked by other facilities why I chose The Residence at Great Woods I simply say it is so far above other places I saw. It exceeded my expectations.

I had 2 separate tours with Emily...one for the Assisted Living side and one for their "About to open" Merory Care wing. Beautiful facilty...Clean and modern with lots of amenities...Emily was very professional and answered every question I asked. I was looking for a place for my 93 year old aunt.

I highly recommend The Residence at Great Woods. Our Mom has been a resident here since September. We have been nothing but delighted - What sets GW apart is the staff- an amazing group of people who genuinely love what they do. My mother moved into Great Woods almost a year ago. My brother sister and I are very pleased with the care and attention that she's received. All the staff know her name, talk with her and are very friendly. There are many activities scheduled daily that she can attend as well as outings to various sites of interest. Tiffany, the Executive Director is always available to talk or meet and promptly replies to emails. She knows all the residents and is always interacting with them. Sandy, Amy, Lisa, Mandy, Bert, Greshlee, Sean and the rest of the staff have made our mother feel welcome and at home. It’s a very caring environment that makes my mother feel safe and comfortable. We know that we made the right choice in choosing Great Woods for our mother.

I brought my parents to live here prior to COVID19. Thank goodness! The care they received was stellar, they were kept safe and well cared for. The assisted living is a bridge from home to prevent nursing home care. The nurse aids and all of the staff truly care. There are activities to participate in when they want or they can hang out in their private apartment. I highly recommend the LCR Great Woods.

We are just so thrilled with every aspect of The Residences at Great Woods. It starts with the care givers who are truly dedicated and passionate about their work and their charter to take care of our loved ones. Each and every care giver is genuinely concerned about each resident. Their kindness abounds! In addition, the daily life is great, the facility is warm, welcoming and really feels like home. Over Thanksgiving, each resident was given the most unbelievable box of goodies to take to their families. Pumpkin whoopie pies with cream cheese frosting and delicious cookies. Chef Sean is amazing! These goodies were definitely made with love. Even my father, who is tough customer when it comes to food, absolutely loves Sean and the staff’s cooking. We lay our head on the pillow at night and know that my dad is being taken care of so well. I highly recommend that you go take a tour of the Residences at Great Woods.

My mom moved yesterday to a new completely renovated room at The Residence at Great Woods. I just want to let you know how pleased we were with the move. It was done so quickly; when my sister and I arrived it was 90% done! We were able to bring Mom up to the new room and the movers couldn't have been better. They were very patient and accommodating. Also thanks for your quick assistance to get a long cable cord for the TV. The aides also have been very attentive checking on her. When I talked with her last night, she was so happy and pleased. I am 80 years old and have been a resident for eight months. I am getting progressively weaker. I chose to come to this facility based on my daughter's recommendation, she is a doctor. The facilities here are clean comfortable and welcoming. The staff not only does a terrific job, but they do it in a caring pleasant way. I have traveled the world, lived in many countries, and stayed in some of the world's best places. Although ownership of this facility has changed recently and there were some bumps in the transition however they all appear to be all reconciled. I strongly recommend this assisted living facility. Again, the caring staff is their strongest point.

We have been very happy with the care my Mother is receiving at The Residence at Great woods. The aides are very attentive, encouraging, loving and supportive. The new Chef Sean is an outstanding Chef. He tries to please all the residence. Everything is cooked to order and not just sitting in a pan for hours. The dining room staff is very accommodating. They try to get whatever it is that my Mother desires. The new housekeeping/maintenance team is awesome. They clean the apartments nicely and do the laundry and return it all folded professionally. As for the maintenance part they handle, they attend to any problems we have that needs to be fixed in a timely way. The Executive Director, Tiffany, is very friendly and if I have any questions or concerns she immediately gets back to me with an answer. The concierge, Sandra, is very welcoming and the first smiling face you see as you enter. She has been very helpful with any questions or messages that need to be shared. The nursing staff has been available when my Mother needs medical attention. They do a great job working with the aides to cover all the bases. Greshlee wears many hats. She does a nice job with bus transportation, doing manicures and a Myriad of other tasks with the residences. Mandy also does a great job. She handles the finance office. She is available anytime also covering open positions on the weekend. My Mother has been a residence for more than three years. Living at Great woods has been a wonderful experience for our family! Prior to COVID there were a lot of activities that the families were invited to join. Perhaps as we turn the page on this disease we can get back to more normal family atmosphere and family activities.

I find Wingate of Norton to be a great place, they keep us in formed of ever updated there is with corvid 19 and the state inspection. I am happy to say they have passed all the inspection. The care my my family member is getting is wonderful, if everyone looked passed the little petty stuff and focused on the positive stuff you'd all be much happier. No place is perfect . My advice to everyone is to check in with your loved ones as much as possible ,I know right now it's hard but when you can stay on top of it and all will be great
