My family had an amazing experience at the Village at East Farms. Our dad was so happy there & when he passed away the staff was wonderful to us as well. He loved being there & was made to feel welcome immediately by the staff & other residents. One of us visited him daily & we could see that the other residents seemed just as happy as he was. It is a very cheerful place, kept impeccably clean & inviting. There are many activities for residents who wish to socialize & multiple places to sit with family & friends. The staff members really care about the residents & take the time to chat with them & their families. We highly recommend the Village at East Farms!

One of our family members has been living at the assisted living portion of The Village at East Farms and she is very happy there. The facility is immaculate and bright. The staff is great, especially Liz who is always there when needed! So far we are all very happy with our choice of this facility!

The staff, especially Liz has been very attentive to helping my mom adjust to a new life and surroundings. It hasn’t been an easy transition for her but everyone has been helpful in helping her adjust to the facility. They continue to make sure she is aware of all the offerings to kept the residents occupied and entertained throughout the day and Liz has been deeply involved in making sure mom isn’t left behind.

My Mom has been at The Village of East Farms for approximately the past two and a half years and my Aunt was there for about a month while she received hospice care. The staff are very caring and make a sincere effort to provide personalized services. I highly recommend this assisted living facility.

Village at East Farms is a 5 star all inclusive senior facility without the wrist band. The whole staff is very friendly and greets every resident with a have a good day and a smile. There are plenty of activities for the residents to choose from as well as support groups for Alzheimer’s, cancer and Parkinson’s disease to name a few. The menu is varied and the meals can be made to order. There is also a memory care center for the resident that need additional assistance. If you are interested in a senior facility save your time and look into the Village at East Farms.

If you’re looking for a caring staff, the Village of East Farm is the place for your loved one. The activities are well organized and allow your loved one to enjoy their life. It is safe, clean and beautifully decorated. Mom turned 95 and The Village helped me organize and they ran a beautiful family, friends and table mate friends party. Mom and her guests were treated like celebrities!!! The kitchen and dining room managers went way out of their way to make this occasion special. I can tell you the staff at The Village at East Farms goes well beyond caring. Every phone call to the front desk is so warm and welcoming and the nursing staff is always attentive to my and my mom’s needs. This is truly a wonderful place for your love ones.

My mother has been living at the Harbor for 7 years and there is not a week that goes by that she does not tell me how lucky she is to live there because the people who work there are wonderful, everyone treats her great and she really enjoys the food. I am so grateful for the dedicated, caring staff. When my husband was hospitalized and in convalescent home for a while I could not wait to get him back home. My mom is in the memory care unit there also and the same goes for the staff there. So caring. We have had a few bumps in the road with both but the staff try to do the very best for your loved one.

I wanted to share our recent amazing experience with The Village at East Farms. We had an emergency with our mother and she needed to go to an Assisted living facility almost immediately. The Village at East Farm saved the day and turned a terrible situation into a positive one. They took our mother in and provided amazingly kind and needed support. The facility is wonderful only to be out done by the most caring staff there is. If you should ever have a need this type of facility for a loved one, I can’t recommend it enough!

We are very fortunate to have found the Village for our family member. It meets his needs more than 100%. He receives excellent medical care. The food is amazing. The staff and residents are friendly and cheerful. The freedom to move around, yet be safe and supervised, is well balanced. The atmosphere of the building is very pleasant, bright, and welcoming. The opportunities to socialize with other residents has been very beneficial to improving the quality of life of our family member. There is nothing bad to say!

I live here (full time) and love it. As Vice President of our resident’s council, I get to hear every complaint and compliment from all those who live here. Ninety percent (or more) of the comments are positive, from the food service to the healthcare and everything in between. We could not ask for finer, more compassionate care. (Kudos to the staff). It is not inexpensive, but worth every penny.

My mom is so happy at The Village at East Farms. The moment she walked into one of the apartments she said, "I'm home"! It warmed my heart that she felt that way. She has blossomed living at the Village and made some new friends. I love listening to her tell me about her day. It's a beautiful, well-maintained facility and the staff is wonderful.

I toured The Village at East Farms with my mother before she moved in. The facility is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. The staff is friendly and greeted us with warmth and smiles. I was impressed with Randi Bellemare, who greeted every resident we encountered by name. The women at the reception desk know the residents and greet them warmly as well. Now that my mother has been living there for three months, I can't say enough about it. She is a changed person. She walks better and smiles more. She participates in activities from the time she leaves her apartment for breakfast until she returns after dinner. She has a wonderful circle of friends and has conversations all day. We could not ask for a better place for her! I recommend it highly!

Thrilled to have thoroughly enjoyed my wife's, and my, first Easter Dinner celebration with my Mother at The Village at East Farms! After settling in and making new friends, this five month mark in Mom's time at The Village was just the perfect way to spend an Easter visit together! The food was outstanding and was delivered with attentiveness and great warmth. Months ago, back in November, we all thought this place would be the best place for Mom to call "home", with the passage of time since then, and this special Easter occasion time of reflection, making it abundantly clear that this has been, and now is, such a positive reality for my Mom and for all of us who love her so!

My wife has been at the Harbor Memory unit for two months now. The grounds and buildings are very well maintained, and the indoor areas are very clean and comforting. The staff is the key at the Village at East Farms. They offer great care and I Ican work with them as a team. The food is great and there are a lot of very good activities. I would highly recommend the Village at East Farms.

It has been about a month since Uncle Ken has passed on. It is Easter Day and a fine time to reflect and be thankful: I appreciate The Village at East Farm because it became HOME to my Aunt and Uncle in their final chapter of Life. ~It is Lovely and Comfortable ~It provides Assistance in a Caring Environment ~Even under stressful circumstances (like Covid pandemic) every department did it's best How different it would have been for Uncle Ken if Dietary and Dining Room Staff had not been there early to start an Early Bird's day? And what if Housekeepers wouldn't let him make his own bed and do his own laundry? And how would he have gotten the bird feeder attached to his second floor window if Security and Maintenance hadn't done it? And what if Nobody kept Magazines available in the Library? And what if the Front Desk Staff couldn't find Anybody to check on him after I had called him repeatedly and he didn't answer? How would it be if Karen and her Nursing Staff didn't call me when things were changing? What a difference it made when Lindsay and Others visited him while in Rehab, bringing him a cozy BenchMark blanket and lovely jar of his favorite PeanutButter Crackers! I can't mention All of You but You Know Who You Are and What You Do THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Following our first tour, the Family was hosted by Randy to a lovely 'Getting to Know You' luncheon. That set the stage for what proved to be A Long and Satisfying Journey. There is nowhere else in the northern New Haven County that anyone should think of when placing a loved one for rehabilitative/ extended care.The Village at East Farms is in a league of their own. They do an outstanding job in everything that they do. From the caring, personalized compassionate staff, to the beautifully landscaped property and perfectly maintained buildings it is easy to see why they are above all others. In early 2020, my mother was in need of assistance and we decided on the Harbor @ The Village. In the short time she was there, my family and I witnessed the amazing work they do. They truly treat all their residents as family. During moms last days and upon her passing, we could not have asked for any better care and the compassion, what they gave to both her and the family was unbelievable. It was an absolute no-brainer when we were deciding where to move Dad...it was into the Lodge @ The Village. Lindsey, Heather and the entire staff make him feel right at home everyday, ( they even rolled out the red carpet and put his name in lights on move in day- literally! ) he loves it there and we couldn’t be happier !!

My mom moved to the Village 6 months ago. The staff was very supportive in getting her moved in and settled. They checked in with her often during the this transition period to help her fine tune her room to help her make it her home. Since then the entire staff has been amazing. Keep in mind this is all happening in the midst of the COVID pandemic. Despite all the required restrictions, the entire staff really rose to the occasion and continue to do so every day despite the more challenging conditions. The nurses have kept me updated on my moms medical issues. Maintenance ran phone lines where my mom needed them and even hung pictures on the wall my mom wanted during a time when family visits were temporarily suspended. The kitchen staff are prompt and the food is good. The aids have all been polite and helpful. The girls at the front desk, who answer seemingly nonstop phone calls, are always pleasant and helpful in scheduling family visits. I can’t comment much on the recreation department yet because COVID restrictions have limited group activities for the most part. So all in all, despite it being a very challenging time, I know my mom is safe, comfortable and well taken care of. That gives my family tremendous piece of mind. The Village is an attractive, comfortable place. But it’s the people working there that make it special.

Using my wires account, we love The Village at East Farms!! we needed to get my mom in there with breakneck speed with the world of covid going on. Randi and Lindsay where so helpful it getting Mom in and settled in. This was the First Christmas with Mom there and we couldn't go see her, the staff made sure they set up a zoom meeting so we were able to see mom on Christmas. We could go on and on about the wonderful staff from the mangers down to the house keeper, they are awesome.

The Village has been a great place for our mom to move for assisted living - she's enjoying all of the activities, exercise classes, dog visits, bingo, movies, great hairdresser on site, and she absolutely loves having tasty food to eat without having to cook it! Mom and and step father lived at the Village at East Farms. They were reluctant at first to make the move from their own home, but knew they needed the help. Shortly after they moved in, I heard them both say, I wish we moved here sooner! They made friends, felt supported and enjoyed the food. Our family rested easy knowing they had twenty four hour care and were still able enjoyed the privacy of their own little home. I would highly recommend this wonderful facility.

My brother lived at the Harbor at the Village at East Farm for three and a half years. He suffered from early onset dementia . They took wonderful care of him and exercised patience and compassion even when he was a challenging resident. I will be eternally grateful to all the staff who watched over him for his time there. Living out of state made it difficult to visit frequently but I always trusted he was in good hands. Knowing he was safe and so well taken care of gave me peace of mind. Their Director of Community Relations, Randi Bellemare was with me every step of the way as I navigated this journey . Her compassion and dedication is unwavering. My mom was a resident at The Village at East Farms, The Harbor, for 4 years. In that time, all the staff, and I mean all of them, treated her like a queen and loved her, hugged her, fed her, (mom loved to eat) and kept her mind and body active all day, every day. They had beautiful galas, parties, picnics and mom’s and I was blessed to attend every one! They went on bus rides twice a week and mom really loved, she would be the first in line. All of the staff, residents and their families became her family and they became mine also. I miss my mom so very much, and I miss all the friends I made over the past 4 years. I would recommend The Village At East Farms in a heartbeat. Love all of you!!!

The staff and care at The Village at East Farms is excellent! The staff are compassionate, patient, and kind with the residents as well as the families of the residents. The Activity Director, Management at The Village, and direct care, admin and kitchen staff are especially wonderful! The reason I couldn't give a 5 star review is because Benchmark executives could benefit from training regarding effective communication with their employees and the families they serve. Communication between senior management (e.g., CEO of Benchmark) and families and staff is poor. There is little to no response from senior management from family inquiries, there is miscommunication among employees about policies related to family visitations, and misinformation given to families about visitations. I've reached out to Senior Management of Benchmark to discuss my concerns but they haven't responded, thus this review. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision about Benchmark.
