Cracks in walls and ceilings, the entire place needs the interior refurbished (fix cracks, paint everything). Looks and feels old, rundown

Our family was so blessed to share mom’s last year in the heart-felt care of Essex House. Entrusting a loved one to the care of others is very hard to do, but Essex House not only took care of mom so wonderfully, but they also took care of me, her daughter. Ginger worked with us to ensure that mom's private, large room was homelike to her and the staff made sure that her room was always clean and smelled good. I visited mom almost every day, so I saw first hand that mom was always taken care of and she loved, and was loved by, the staff, who were attentive and made sure that they got to know mom. There were so many hugs. The staff were for the last year, and will always be considered part of my family and I love them all dearly for everything that they did for mom and myself during the good times and the difficult times.

My aunt was a resident at the Essex House for 6years. Throughout that time Ginger and her staff provided loving care for "Miss Dot" The socials provided were a great asset to the residents and families. Whenever I went to pick up Miss Dot she was always clean and neatly dressed with handbag in tow.If music was playing when we returned the staff would take a minute to dance with Miss Dot (as she loved to dance)welcoming her back. The decorations Ginger provided for every season made the Essex House warm and inviting. The private room always clean and the staff so compassionate. A wonderful experience with each visit. Many thanks to Ginger and her staff for their care of my aunt. Frances McMahan

The Essex House took care of my mother and I cannot give them enough credit. Ginger and the staff were so compassionate and caring and went above and beyond for my mom and the other residents. My mom aways enjoyed the activities they had, seeing and talking with the staff, and she completely felt at home there. As I visited her often, the staff was always courteous and the facility always clean. I highly recommend them .

Essex House is a welcoming, comfortable, and pleasant facility. Our sister has been there almost a year and it was the right choice for the total medical and personal care she is receiving. She has her own private room which is kept clean and furnished nicely. The entire staff work hard to provide a small, home-like environment.

I wanted to share my own experience with Essex House, and the extraordinary care that was given to my mother until the very end. Mom was in Essex House from March 2019, until she passed on December 9, 2019. Us kids, fretted about the best place to move her when things got too difficult to care for her at home. Mom made the choice easy for us by choosing Essex House herself (she said it felt like a warm home). Thats exactly what it proved to be. It provided a warm setting, good food, and a staff that not only cared for Mom, but obviously showed much love and affection for her. Looking back, I dont think it is possible to have selected a better place then Essex House to help care for Mom during a most challenging time in her life. Much thanks to Ginger, and the best staff anyone could hope for. We love all of you for all you did. Sincerely Bert Engelgau

Both of my husband's parents are there. The staff couldn't be more loving and kind, making every effort to take good care of them. The facilities are kept clean and regularly maintained. What a blessing to be able to rely on them!

I moved my mother to Essex house in the beginning of October 2016 and have been very pleased with the service provided my mother. They have done everything in their power to make her stay comfortable. Due to the location, it has been easier for family to visit.
