My sister has been a guest at Merrill Gardens for just over a year. She loves the facility, her apartment, the many activities on and off campus, not to mention the cafe style food service. She loves all the staff she deals with on a daily basis. They have all been extremely good to her. She tells me she feels safe and cared for there. From my perspective, Everyone I interact with is kind, respectful and attentive to my sister’s needs and any requests/needs I may have. I have the utmost trust in the staff and they don’t hesitate to communicate with me as needed. Merrill Gardens is amazing!

Lovely, well appointed facilitate. Staff is so friendly and accommodating apartments are lovely large spacious and very bright food is fair hoping for a better days with regard to that.

I came here in March 2025 prior to back surgery. After surgery and rehab I came to live. Instead of having to rough it on my own at home, I was treated to chef prepared meals, my own apartment, and weekly housekeeping. If I needed assistance, it was there. Love it along with the new friends, fun activities. Carrie's craft classes reignited my spark to create.

Merrill Gardens is a happy place and I call it my Home Sweet Home. The ambiance that greets you is that of a modern hotel lounge. The back courtyard is small but relaxing & colorful with seasonal flowers. There are plenty of activities that include vocalist performances, scenic drives, happy hours, Mother's Day Tea, celebrations for all traditional holidays, even the Kentucky Derby day! Now, I rarely use my kitchen because the dining hall is open from 7 AM to 7 PM. Food is good and there are always several choices on the menu. The top management and the staff are easily accessible and I have found them to be responsive to our needs. Twice, I encountered brief medical emergencies, and woke up surrounded by care staff and paramedics. I feel safe living here. I have made new friends in this community and while I miss my previous condo with its high-rise panoramic ocean view, I am happy with the quietly vibrant life style of seniors. I am happy here and believe that you will be too.

Our physically active / thriving 87-year old mom has been a resident here for 2 years. She's a bit shy and introverted, but still loves her Merrill Gardens experience. The staff / food / environment are fantastic. Special mention of their Activities Director Sarah (sp?) who truly is a heart-of-gold and works incredibly hard to try to make resident and guests experiences as optimal as possible (not an easy task at all!). And she does it with such grace and patience. She's exactly the type of person you'd want to be in that role of helping seniors feel connected and keeping their world from feeling too small. Kudos to the whole staff!

My sister and I moved my mom to the Huntington Beach Merrill Gardens from her four-bedroom 2sty Home in fountain Valley to their two bedroom corner unit And on my mom’s second day there, she called and said you can sell The house or rented out because I’m not moving back I’ve met Several wonderful ladies here and a couple funny old men And they want me to sit at their table and that is how it should go, and we all know that it doesn’t go that way every time with the elderly, sickness, mobility, and when a Parent knows their transitioning. GM JILL Was instrumental in our decision to have mom reside at Merrill Gardens, compared to several other similar properties locally in Huntington Beach, fountain Valley, and even Costa Mesa Jill; was always available through thick and thin as moms health, of course changed overtime finally to her gracefully passing away there Certainly tragic for myself my sister, the grandkids, the rest of the family and friends, but we were so touched that the staff that became my mom’s friends and our friends and colleagues just had that extra TLC human human part that means something to them and we always knew that she was in the best of hands when we weren’t there My complements and my sister compliments to all the staff and just a friendliest receptionist in town and always got me a quick response so thank you from the bottom of our hearts. * It’s been just over two years, which obviously is just like yesterday to us, So as I voice record this, I’ve got a couple of crackling moments in there that you can’t tell with the text, but we are so glad that we selected Merrill Gardens with mom and then it worked out as they promised because promises are cheap. It’s the fulfillment that matters. We moved our 88 year old mom into MG and although she didn't like it at first eventually she came to really love and rely on the management and staff. Mom passed away a little over a year after moving in but the special attention the caregivers provided made her short stay there very comfortable and special. She made friends with the staff and many of the residents. Jill the director and her staff made our moms stay there very special and we would recommend Merrill Gardens to anyone looking for a safe caring place for their seniors.

Very nice safe place to live. people were very pleasant ,helpful and encouraging to work and live with. . I enjoyed my stay but at this time i did not need the assisted care but if i do i will return. Will miss everyone and hope to see you again when i come to visit.

On January 6th, I left a short note for Libia who had told me she would do a few cleaning jobs in my apartment because of Alma's absence. I asked her to clean two things - the toilet and sink in the bathroom. I left to keep my appointment in the salon. Upon my return, I found that Libia had cleaned my shower and the mirror plus what I had asked her to do. I sent an email to Jill Johnson to let her know what Libia had done,

I just moved my 93 year old mother here a few days ago. So far our experience has been amazing. The facility is spotless. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. Jill, the Director, is amazing and Robin in Sales is just as good. The current COVID situation made the move a little bit harder but it all worked out. My mother is very picky about food and so far not one complaint from her. She has loved everything so far. That is a big deal for us. I already see a change in my mother since moving her here. She is much happier now that she is somewhere that is more to the standard of living that she is used too. I feel much better knowing that she is here. She came from another facility that I placed her in due to a fall and it did not live up to our expectations. This facility is far above anything we have looked at previously and we are so happy that we were able to make this my mother’s new home.

I've been a geriatric care manager for 13 years and regularly assist clients to find excellent facilities where their care needs may be met, as well as celebrate their best quality of life. Last week I took two of my clients to tour at Merrill Gardens Huntington Beach and I was extremely impressed by the team. Jill, the Executive Director, has extraordinary experience and her authenticity shines. Robin, Admissions Coordinator, also has tremendous experience and is extremely helpful. I've worked in healthcare for over 30 years and it brings joy to my heart when I encounter a community that is run so well and serves their clients with love and respect. During our tour, every resident we encountered stated they have been thrilled with their home at Merrill Gardens. Well done!

My sister in law and I went to Merrill Gardens to check it out for a place for my mom. We met Robert who is amazing with his compassion, understanding and knowledge of Alzheimer / Dementia. The information that he gave us, we were better able to understand this terrible disease which in turn benefited my mom. I cannot say enough good things about the staff that we met that were so knowledge and willing to share thoughts and ideas on how to deal with family members with Alzheimer and Dementia. If you are looking for an assisted living community I would definitely see Merrill Gardens and speak to Robert. You will not be disappointed !

My grandmother is finally happy at Merrill Gardens. She had an awful experience at the previous retirement community where she lived. The staff are very friendly and professional at Merrill.They cater to my grandmother's every need.Our family is always welcomed to visit and it is a beautiful place!
