Helena Square is a wonderful community that is warm and inviting. The staff there are very caring towards the people who live there and the guests. The community has a strong family feel when you see everyone interacting with each other. The activities are always well attended and keep the residents interested. I would highly recommend this community if you were looking for assistance for yourself or a loved one.

Helena Square is a wonderful, homelike environment for my father. He feels at home there and has made friends in the short time he has been there! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff consistently demonstrate professionalism, care, compassion, and attentiveness. The activities are thoughtfully organized and tailored to the residents' individual interests and abilities. After dinner, many residents play games and socialize until bedtime. It's wonderful to hear their laughter and see the friendships! One of the things we truly appreciate is the dining experience. The meals are delicious, and my dad has the opportunity to choose his entrees, which adds a personal touch to his care. If you're looking for a safe, friendly, and homelike assisted living facility for your loved one, I highly recommend Helena Square. It has brought us peace of mind knowing my dad is in such good hands.

I was looking for a place for my mother and live 800 miles away. I worked with Maria Sawyer, the Dir of Sales and Marketing to understand the process and to help coordinate the transition. As I was unable to tour the facility, we did a virtual tour which was just what I needed. Maria went well above and beyond in helping me as I was unable to be there to receive furniture, packages as well as the day of move-in. She worked with my current caregivers and nurses with paperwork and understanding my mothers needs. When I was able to get to the facility I was extremely impressed with all the workers and the facility was even more charming then I had hoped. I highly recommend Helena to anyone looking for a personalized, small but mighty facility that offers all amenities you can hope for. The location is perfectly situated in a beautiful small town where residents can walk to shops and restaurants. I am very happy, after looking at many facilities, that Helena Square was the final selection.

My brothers and I toured the facility and met with the Sales Director and Nurses. We were so impressed by all aspects of the visit. The facility and individual rooms we viewed we spotless and cheery. The studio apartment was small and well appointed with a lovely view of their pretty courtyard. All if the residents and staff we passed appeared happy. We were also impressed with safety and emergency measures, amenities offered to residents, and open visiting policies provided for the monthly cost. This community is a top contender for Mom's future home.

Our mother has been residing at Helena Place for almost 8 months now. She is 99 years young and had always lived independently with minimal daily home care. She reached the physical stage where she needed more assistance. Helena Place was the answer; they welcomed her with open arms. They embraced her independence while showing her she definitely could learn a new way of living. They have cared for Mom with kindness and respect. During these very difficult covid times, the staff at Helena Place has protected and tended to Mothers comfort with compassion and thoughtfulness. They are always open to discussion and readily respond to any and all questions and-or concerns we may have. We are delighted to have found the perfect fit for our dear mother at Helena Place.

When my father passed, mother was in a bad way. We tried to keep her at home but I was extremely stressed. My husband went to Helena Place to see if my Mother could go there. They immediately made accommodations to see her and in just a few days we set her up in her own room.We all came to love and appreciate the staff. Mother became friends with some of the other residents. We moved for my husbands job. With COVID I wanted Mother closer. We moved her upstate in another Assisted Living. There I learned how much more of a family Helena Place was.We have moved Mother back and we too have returned to the area. You cannot ask for more attentive, friendly, and kind people. Mother is doing so much better since she has returned to Helena Place and with the COVID they keep me up to date on all her health issues and activities, which was not the norm at the other assisted living in the upstate.Thank you Helena Place for making my 91 year old mother happy and feel comfortable. ❤

My mother chose Helena Place! I was in and out before our health crisis.. everyone is so nice and helpful!! My mother enjoys the different social activities! They are always positive and pleasant ! Visiting Helena Place is like visiting your family at your family's home. Everyone is warm and welcoming and it is like being with a large group of family members. The community is decorated like a real house/home would be decorated and not like a hospital or institution. The food is good and there is a lot of variety on the menu. I like that there is a manager available to talk with when I have questions/concerns and I like that the staff know me when I walk in. The residents seem to really like the activities offered. I have witnessed them attending local events on Paris Avenue and in-community events such as happy hour and music presentations. If you are looking for care for your senior citizen loved one, I highly recommend Helena Place.

My mother receives great care here. She enjoys assisted living much more than I thought she would. The staff are attentive to her needs & requests. I feel confident in the Registered Nurse and Executive Director. The community is small (40 individual apartments) and very clean. I feel she receives more attention than she would at comparable larger communities. Because its so centrally located across from the Port Royal Post Office I am able to pop into see her several times per week. I wish I would have moved her here sooner.
