For the nearly 3 years that my mother lived at Summerfield in Hammond our experience was wonderful. All the staff were very caring and provided compassionate care and services to my mother. It was very comforting knowing that she was in good hands when we were not able to be present to care for her or provide company to her. The other residents of Summerfield were like family to her and she enjoyed the many activities that were scheduled there on a daily basis. I would strongly recommend this facility to anyone looking to find a great place for a loved one to enjoy themselves in a retirement community setting. I personnally visited my mother on a regular basis at different times of the day and night and never found anything that was out of the ordinary or suspicious of anything other than an exceptional place to be.

Our experience here has been amazing. The staff is caring and they took very good care of my mother. We started in a regular apartment and pretty quickly moved to Memory Care, but they didn't have a bed up there yet. They stepped up and took care of my mother in her apartment until they had a bed upstairs. They didn't just do the work they did it caringly, gently, and always talked with her. You won't find a better place. We looked at several places and even so, some were very nice I can tell you the care your loved ones will receive will be Excellent!!!

My dad lived at Summerfield for about 2.5 years before his passing. There is no other assisted living facility that we would've rathered been at and I couldn't imagine a place that could've been any better than what Summerfield offered. Dad was FURIOUS when he realized he was going to have to live here, but after a few minutes of entering his apartment he was fighting to hold back his smile. From there Dad went from being isolated and lonely to having a real community to be apart of. I wish we had moved him in sooner than we did. There were times Dad had life long friends come to pick him up and bring him to lunch and he'd tell them that he couldn't go because he was occupied doing karaoke, bingo, or whatever the daily activity may have been. As good as all of this was for Dad, the one thing I won't be able to forget is how the staff treated my Dad in his final days. They had clearly gotten attached to Dad over time. I saw them exhibit such a love and tenderness towards Dad that really did bless me to witness. With that said, I cannot recommend Summerfield enough to anyone that's in need of such care. Not only did they make an extremely difficult situation for our family less difficult, they made Dad's time at Summerfield a memorable experience worth preserving.

Both of my parents are in memory care at Summerfield. As a family it is comforting to see them getting to spend this time together. 62 years of marriage. Considering their condition Summerfield provides them with activities they enjoy separate and together. Summerfield staff is the best they've been a true blessing for our family.

Summerfield has been a great place for my mom to reside. The staff goes out of their way to keep the residences smiling and happy, there are activities with enough variation of interests, meal service is great, she can get hair cuts and pedicures right there. It's truly a "5 star living facility"!

I'm so proud to work at Summerfield! I LOVE every resident and when I ask my colleagues their opinions, I get so much positivity. They also love their jobs. I feel the owners' presence is truly to help and they have the same goal as we do as employees: to serve our residents! We all share a common interest in protecting the senior population. I am surprised at the number of associates we employ because I've experienced and hear about a shortage at other places. There is a great presence of peace and love at Summerfield. When I tell people about all the amenities, they're usually shocked to hear all that is offered at the community. Summerfield of Hammond has been an amazing place to work but, residents always tell me how fun it is to live there. It's just the best!

If I was choosing an assisted care center, this would be my first choice. I’ve toured the center and was pleasantly surprised at how nice Summerfield Senior Living was. I got an opportunity to see a few performances entertain the residents there. Everyone was happy, engaged, and genuinely were happy to live there. Spoke to a few members of the staff who were very kind and professional. Ms. Tina Lipps provided answers to all my questions and was able to clearly communicate all that Summerfield has to offer and more. I could tell she and the staff are very dedicated to the residents and their families. They have a passion for helping others that you don’t find just anywhere!

Summerfield Senior Living is an amazing place. You can truly see that the staff cares deeply for the residents. There is always something going on to keep the residents engaged and active. It's a beautiful building with landscaped grounds for residents to enjoy.

My mother moved here about six months ago and is very happy here. The staff is genuinely caring and compassionate. There are always fun activities to engage in and she has made many new friends. Family and friends are made to feel welcomed and encouraged to spend time with her and participate in the activities with her as much as possible. The meals are tasty and the facility is always clean, well maintained, and organized. It is a great comfort to know that she is safe, happy, and part of a loving community. We feel blessed to have her here.

They steal from the seniors who try to have a little bit of cash for hair cuts and for laundry service. They do not have camera's to monitor the staff in each apartment so they get away with this easily and try to let the senior think they are the ones who misplace or place it somewhere else(like they hide it in certain ways.) Because they are on the dementia floor fir seniors so please do your due diligent for your parents rights and well being. They found several times my father either in the closet on the floor or bathroom floor several times later in the evening.

It's a great place. They are always having activities for the residents which is especially important in the memory care unit. The food is great also. A few employees really stand out. Missy, a CNA in memory care and Tammy who organizes the activities. I could always count in them. I had the opportunity to meet Ryan Markham. He is a genuinely nice person. He understands what the needs of the families are and make sure they get it.

I have to say I have had experience in many different assisted living communities and Summerfield in my opinion is noticeably at the top of the pack. The employees always seem very positive and smiling. The community is very well kept and nice. The rooms are big and all the amenities on the property are amazing. But to me what sets them apart is the engaging way that their activities director always has something fun going on. I highly recommend this community.

I love love love this place. My aunt has been there since they opened and she loves it. My aunt is hard to please when it comes to the food but she like just about everything they have. I know theres been a few different cooks but thats still her favorite part

At first, I didnt want to leave my home and friends, I cried all the way here. I look back on it and realize how silly I was because it is such a fun-loving place to be. Everyone was so welcoming and eager to help me transition smoothly. It was as if I came to life again. I didnt realize how alone I was. Since being here I have had a wonderful time with my new Summerfield family. We have lots of fun and the activities keep us busy. Summerfield has enriched my life in so many ways.

Placed my mom in the memory care unit there in February. A very very warm welcome when we arrived. Staff top notch. Great interaction with my mom and my wife and myself. I feel that she has been taken care of with compassion and caring especially in these trying times.

I had my mother there in the memory care area for 2 years before she passed. I found the management to be very responsive and she had a number of very good friends there. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for assisted living or memory care in the Northshore area.

This is a great place to stay and the staff is very pleasant and friendly. The property is absolutely beautiful with large rooms and good food. Summerfield is such a wonderful place to work but an even better place to live. The employees really care about the residents and the management is fair above all else. There is always something to do on the ground and off. The residents are treated as family and not just another number. I wouldnt trade this work family for anything.

I have been at Summerfield with my daughter to Check it out twice before my becoming a resident. Visiting and residing have been the same for me...WONDERFUL! Summerfield is a love-filled place to live. The caretakers are knowledgeable, loving and always available for us. All kinds of activities are available each day. Some days I prefer to hang out in my room very sure that a staff member will knock on my door to check on me. I can eat in the dining room or in my apartment, it is my choice. My cat loves looking out the window to watch resident dogs play. I have made lots of new friends and visit with them at my leisure. All the people here are human beings who are residents, caretakers, and administration. All of us work together to make Summerfield the BEST senior living ever.

Ive been in the healthcare field for almost 20 years and this is the first company that has made me feel joy to come to work daily. The management team are amazing and make you feel part of a team.
