Hammond Summerfield, I don't know what we would have done without you! You cared so well for my parents. You treated them with dignity and respect and gave them a life filled with social activities. You took care of all the hard details (social activiites, housing, food, cleaning, internet, water, etc.), so my parents could focus on each other for the first two years. After Mom's passing, I owe it all to you in keeping Dad engaged in life for the next three years. What an amazing way to spend the sunsetting years....surrounded by caring dedicated staff in a family-like atmosphere. THANK YOU.

I placed my sister in this facility a little less than a year ago. Since then I have had nothing but absolute praise for the management and staff that have taken care of Carla. I would say that they have gone above and beyond their means to ensure that my sister was fully taken care of, but they would say that they are just doing their jobs. I highly recommend this facility for anyone who has family or relatives that cannot take care of themselves due to physical or mental issues beyond their control.

Our Dad lived at Summerfield for 10 months. We were very thankful that he had a lovely place to live with a staff that genuinely cares about their residents. There are many activities and outings for residents to participate in if they choose. And the food is very good. Thank you Summerfield and your staff for the compassion you showed to our dad while living at Summerfield. You all were a blessing to him and to us.

My wife and I were thrust into a hard to handle situation when my Father-in-law needed to find an assisted living center to call home. We needed help and quickly. Before visiting Summerfield, my wife and I both felt as though we were stumbling in the dark, just trying to do what was best for my father-in-law and little help during the process could found. We felt a bit helpless . And to say Summerfield was the answer to our struggles, is an understatement. From day one the management and staff amazed us around every turn. From the moment we walked in the doors at Summerfield, we felt heard and understood. During the entire time my father-in-law stayed there, we always were met with the help and guidance we needed. But more importantly the entire experience for my father-in-law living there among the community lacked nothing. They constantly went above and beyond to meet his needs each and every day. And when we had questions, they had real answers. I can highly recommend Summerfield to anyone looking for a place to live out their lives in a secure, loving home/community.

For the nearly 3 years that my mother lived at Summerfield in Hammond our experience was wonderful. All the staff were very caring and provided compassionate care and services to my mother. It was very comforting knowing that she was in good hands when we were not able to be present to care for her or provide company to her. The other residents of Summerfield were like family to her and she enjoyed the many activities that were scheduled there on a daily basis. I would strongly recommend this facility to anyone looking to find a great place for a loved one to enjoy themselves in a retirement community setting. I personnally visited my mother on a regular basis at different times of the day and night and never found anything that was out of the ordinary or suspicious of anything other than an exceptional place to be.

After searching for an assisted living residence for my wife needing "memory care" my step children and I decided on Summerfield of Hammond for her care and freedom that she needs as a dementia patient. I must say we did not jump or choose the first facility that we found that had an opening and I am sure that we searched for weeks and interviewed with at least ten (10) in all. I wanted to make sure my darling wife was well care for and this place fit the bill with walking paths outside, parties, concerts weekly and other activities that keep the patients engaged and busy! May I say that speaking personally with Ms. Tina when we first interviewed and considered installing my wife here was a breath of fresh air who answered all of my questions (and believe me I had a three page questionaire made up) satisfactorily and assured me that my wife would be well cared for and I could call her personally (which I do during business hours at times) to find out how my wife is getting along. I can honestly say that myself and her children think the world of this facility and their employees who are so nice whenever we visit. I would like to say that if anyone is considering installing a loved one with dementia in the facility, just go ahead and do it because I can say you won't be sorry!!

Our experience here has been amazing. The staff is caring and they took very good care of my mother. We started in a regular apartment and pretty quickly moved to Memory Care, but they didn't have a bed up there yet. They stepped up and took care of my mother in her apartment until they had a bed upstairs. They didn't just do the work they did it caringly, gently, and always talked with her. You won't find a better place. We looked at several places and even so, some were very nice I can tell you the care your loved ones will receive will be Excellent!!!

This was the third assisted living facility my Grandma lived and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. I live in Covington and normally wouldn't have considered a place that wasn't a 5-10 minute drive, but due to her needs, we had to make this choice. I'm very glad that we did as she received the best care! The staff is engaging and kind. Everyone was very communicative and updated me even when the slightest thing was off with my Grandma. At the end of her life, she was set up with hospice in her apartment. They were magnificent in taking care of her until the very end. I don't care if you live in Baton Rouge, Covington, Slidell, New Orleans... this is the best assisted living home in Southeast Louisiana. You won't regret your family living here.

My dad lived at Summerfield for about 2.5 years before his passing. There is no other assisted living facility that we would've rathered been at and I couldn't imagine a place that could've been any better than what Summerfield offered. Dad was FURIOUS when he realized he was going to have to live here, but after a few minutes of entering his apartment he was fighting to hold back his smile. From there Dad went from being isolated and lonely to having a real community to be apart of. I wish we had moved him in sooner than we did. There were times Dad had life long friends come to pick him up and bring him to lunch and he'd tell them that he couldn't go because he was occupied doing karaoke, bingo, or whatever the daily activity may have been. As good as all of this was for Dad, the one thing I won't be able to forget is how the staff treated my Dad in his final days. They had clearly gotten attached to Dad over time. I saw them exhibit such a love and tenderness towards Dad that really did bless me to witness. With that said, I cannot recommend Summerfield enough to anyone that's in need of such care. Not only did they make an extremely difficult situation for our family less difficult, they made Dad's time at Summerfield a memorable experience worth preserving.

What a great place for my grandmother to live for the past 4 years. So many of the staff go above and beyond. The staff in the kitchen is helpful to meet individual needs….and always cheery. The administration is available and helpful with questions and concerns. I highly recommend Summerfield as a great place for you or your loved one to live!

Summerfield has been a great place for my mom to reside. The staff goes out of their way to keep the residences smiling and happy, there are activities with enough variation of interests, meal service is great, she can get hair cuts and pedicures right there. It's truly a "5 star living facility"!

Both of my parents are in memory care at Summerfield. As a family it is comforting to see them getting to spend this time together. 62 years of marriage. Considering their condition Summerfield provides them with activities they enjoy separate and together. Summerfield staff is the best they've been a true blessing for our family.

My mother moved here about six months ago and is very happy here. The staff is genuinely caring and compassionate. There are always fun activities to engage in and she has made many new friends. Family and friends are made to feel welcomed and encouraged to spend time with her and participate in the activities with her as much as possible. The meals are tasty and the facility is always clean, well maintained, and organized. It is a great comfort to know that she is safe, happy, and part of a loving community. We feel blessed to have her here.

If I was choosing an assisted care center, this would be my first choice. I’ve toured the center and was pleasantly surprised at how nice Summerfield Senior Living was. I got an opportunity to see a few performances entertain the residents there. Everyone was happy, engaged, and genuinely were happy to live there. Spoke to a few members of the staff who were very kind and professional. Ms. Tina Lipps provided answers to all my questions and was able to clearly communicate all that Summerfield has to offer and more. I could tell she and the staff are very dedicated to the residents and their families. They have a passion for helping others that you don’t find just anywhere!

Mom has lived here for about ~1.5 years, and it’s been great! We have nothing to compare it too, but that just means we had no reason to look elsewhere. The staff is outstanding, they treat mom like family. When we had one small issue with another resident, it was handled promptly and professionally by the administrator, and communicated the status with us every step of the way! Couldn’t be happier with Summerfield! BTW the food is pretty darn good also, they maintained the high standards of operation throughout Covid! This facility adapts very nicely to the ever changing environment we live in.

I gathered so much information from the tour and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. I'm not ready yet, but of all the places I've toured, this was the most informative and positive experience I've had. (I've been to visit a lot, as I am flexible about where I can retire.) It feels like family and I even had a warm welcome from the people that live there - it was so exciting and they were all having fun. This isn't what I expected...I expected a nursing home type of place but this felt more like a vacation. I see why there's a little wait list on certain "apartment" types. The apartments come with a full size refrigerator and a microwave and all meals are prepared for the people living there. This was a really cool experience and I am excited and want to show my kids this place.

This is the coolest place for my Grandpa. I hope my parents want to live here someday because the food is so good and they are always doing something fun. Also, they make families so comfortable to visit - just how my Grandpa would want me to feel coming to their house. But at Summerfield, we never have to worry about him being alone. He is happier than he’s been in a long time!

It’s a great place. They are always having activities for the residents which is especially important in the memory care unit. The food is great also. A few employees really stand out. Missy, a CNA in memory care and Tammy who organizes the activities. I could always count in them. I had the opportunity to meet Ryan Markham. He is a genuinely nice person. He understands what the needs of the families are and make sure they get it.
