I really love this place for my sister. She had been at another spot in Westminster that kept upping her rent and the care wasn’t so good. Marie was particularly helpful in getting my sister the room she needed. She is so caring, as is everybody else I have met there. I can’t thank them enough!

A place that exceeds my daily needs for an assisted needs. I can no longer walk without assistance. Brookdale takes care of my meals, the laundry and my every needs. I never feel lonely or rejected. The staff generally takes care of all the residents, in such a way that I and the people I have become friends with, positive comments. This survey is geared towards any problems that may have risen. It shows that Brookdale is always looking to the future and ways to improve their services.

I moved in here in mid July from another assisted living home in Westminster. I moved because my rent was raised 25%. I love it here the staff is friendly and my room is the same size, with a balcony. I feel relaxed and calm, I can have over night guest without any problems. The food is very good and plentiful. If anyone asked if I like here, my answer is yes. I recommend it to everyone.

I am an independent-living resident at Brookdale Brookhurst for almost 2 years. I have been very happy here. I get help with laundry and housekeeping. Food is good, 3 meals a day. I enjoy exercise classes, craft projects, and outings. What I love best is the friendly atmosphere here. I highly recommend this facility for all seniors, whether you need just a little help, or more assistance.

November 2023: Under the VERY capable direction of Brookdale’s Executive Director, Mr. John Goodwin, Brookdale Westminster thrives more than ever before! Mr. Goodwin came on board earlier this year. He is very clear about staying on at Brookdale indefinitely, which is such good news for everyone! Upon his arrival, Mr. Goodwin immediately set plans in motion to make repairs to Brookdale’s aging facility without disrupting the residents. It is an ongoing process that will benefit everyone. Each week, the family members receive a Newsletter from Mr. Goodwin, detailing all that is currently happening and available to the residents. He also provides a few “words of wisdom” that are very encouraging to lift up ourselves and each other. He has made it his mission to ensure that ALL residents, staff, family members, and professionals are fully supported in each of their personal endeavors. His transparency and availability to the residents, staff, family members, professionals visiting residents is so appreciated. It is SO encouraging to hear various staff members speak well of Mr. Goodwin and feel so good about his commitment to them and the residents! Our mother has now been at Brookdale for nearly EIGHT YEARS! Her financial resources are becoming more limited, necessitating a change to a more cost effective smaller apartment at Brookdale. This is NOT an easy adjustment for her. However, Mr. Goodwin and his very caring staff are going all out to help our mother make this transition. This is simply how they do business at Brookdale for EVERY resident, whether they are just moving in to Brookdale or like our mother, needing to adjust their existing living arrangement. We are still profoundly appreciative of ALL the staff members for their ongoing efforts on our mother’s behalf and assistance to us all these many years. Many of those staff members have been there longer than our mom, reflecting their commitment and desire to be part of a community fully invested in quality care for its residents and each other. Suffice it to say, from the first welcoming interaction with the front desk personnel, to briefly meeting with Mr. Goodwin when he is available, to receiving updates from various staff members as to how our mother is doing, we are absolutely assured that everything is being done on our mother’s behalf to make her feel safe and well cared for. Our convictions remain the same: it is unlikely our mother/residents would receive such fine care anywhere other than Brookdale Westminster! We are SO grateful that she can stay on at Brookdale for the time being!

I was planning on putting my mom into Brookdale Brookhurst due to her dementia diagnosis. The property was able to handle her needs and proved to me that it's a stable, clean and comfortable location for people like her. I worked with the management staff closely over a few days coordinating everything. They were very communicative and friendly and even made some impressive accommodations for my mom and me at the last minute. Ultimately, I took a different path for legal reasons and didn't move mom in. But the experience was very positive and I would consider the property again if mom's needs change.

My mom has been living in Brookdale Brookhurst for 4 months now .It is the greatest place. The staff from director to waitresses are the friendliest and most helpful. They care about the residents and it shows. The facility is super. There are lots of things to do if you choose to, from Bible study or Spanish lessons to outings like restaurants or movies. They do your laundry, clean your place and have a eating facility like a restaurant. With yummy food like fish and my favorite the cheeseburger and fries. It's summer so now there are cookouts! There is a library with books to borrow , puzzles and games. They participate with Scan Embrace and the doctors and nurses come in and see the residents at home. There is also music in the Activity room with people and groups coming to sing with residents. My band Blue Neon played for the folks. What a fun time! I really believe there is something for everybody.

We looked at over eight different facilities in Orange County for our 89-year-old father. Brookdale Westminster was one of the finalists as it was an intimate and clean and friendly facility. Nancy, the head administrator/sales person was excellent throughout the whole process. Ultimately though, after the assessment by their caring nursing staff it was determined that my father would need memory care so we ended up opting for a board and care home. Otherwise, I highly recommend Brookdale Westminster. Appears to be a great facility.

My mother is a newer resident here. Before she came to Brookdale Brookhurst, she lived alone with a part-time caregiver. She is much happier now that she is with her new friends and amazing 24/7 staff at Brookdale Brookhurst. The staff sincerely care for their residents - they are attentive, kind and professional. I can rest assure that my mom is being take care of by the staff with her daily medicines, meals, good hygiene and fun activities. Brookdale Brookhurst is truly a gem for assisted living facilities in Orange County.

We moved my mother-in-law in this past spring. She has been very happy. When my mother saw it, she wanted to move in also. Just finished getting her settled. Staff is exceptionally helpful and made the transition for both moms a positive experience. Five stars isn't enough.
