My husband David was a resident of Colony Pointe for several months. He was welcomed with patience and kindness. He made friends and enjoyed the setting and, after needing hospitalization and then hospice care elsewhere, he begged to be returned to Colony Pointe. He was not an easy resident but was still treated well despite his dementia with behavioral disturbance diagnosis.

I was admitted to Colony Pointe as an assisted living resident at the end of September 2024 and agreed on a contract for $226 per day. Very soon after moving into the facility and being fairly satisfied with the accommodations and physical facility, my only real complaint has been the food being provided and complaints have fallen on deaf ears in Residential Meetings and with the Administrator [name removed]. I get the same response each time, which I got from reading the "Resident Handbook" and suggestions have been ignored!? "Our menus are professionally prepared and set up on a four- to- six week cycle system." I have been taking pics of some of the meals and many (most) of them do not take more than an hour or two to prepare and none are to brag to my mom about! " Lunch today was a grilled fish patty with a slice of cheese on a hamburger bun; about six potato chips on the side; and a bowl of stewed tomatoes; with a small serving bowl of pudding for dessert. (I do not do cheese on my fish patty and requested some tartar sauce for the fish since I removed the cheese slice.....but NO TARTAR sauce was available.... so fish sandwich was passed on); and bowl of stewed tomatoes was passed on but would have been palatable if were NOT stewed?) Potato chips were passed on since there was only about six and that does NOT make a meal?! I have previously requested a few times for a substitute and each time it has been a standard of ham and cheese sandwich? I have previously suggested to staff and in "Resident Meetings" that they revise the brochure about the "Restaurant style dining, with many choices daily." NOT TRUE.

The staff at The Arbors did a great job. They worked with me when times were tough. Shout outs to Dan, Emily, Paige ...... I better stop because so many were so good. I can't help but mentioning Jennifer. At the very end of my wife's life - the last hours, Jennifer was so sweet and tender with her. Thank you so much. While it was not home, and it may have been a blank room, but it was quiet and peaceful with no machines beeping, and no staff or students running in and out. It was a gentle end to a great life.

Our family member has been staying at Colony Pointe since November 2017. Everyone in the facility is kind and compassionate when dealing with all the residents. They have great healthcare and activities. The folks constantly seek ways to keep residents active and involved. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. We are so grateful for finding such a wonderful place for our family member.

My 93 year old mother recently moved into The Arbors. She is more active, more alert, and happier than she has been in months. The caring staff works hard to plan activities and outings. The nursing staff is amazing and has helped beyond words with my mothers medications and healthcare. We simply couldnt be happier with The Arbors.

He has only been there a couple of weeks. But he has a good view out of his back window. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and take good care of Dad. He says the food is good, especially breakfast. My only complaint about the food is that their soup is canned, and therefore salty. The facilities are very nice, and the dining room is clean. Rooms are nice, with spacious closets. The floor, however, needs vacuuming more frequently. But the entire facility appears and smells clean, and the residents all appear to be well cared-for. There are many activities from which to choose, but Dad hasn't participated in many of them yet, so we cannot adequately rate them.

Colony Pointe has been very nice. They have a lot of activities. She is very difficult food wise. So she hasn't been too happy with what is on the menu. She has dementia to where she doesn't remember that there is an alternative. They have been really trying to work with her to get her to eat. Everyone I know that go and visit her say this is a really nice place. It has been an educational process for all of us. We are learning their system. She is easy to take care of other than the eating thing but again the staff is working with her. It is a very clean facility. I have never walked in and smelled an odor. You get the feeling it's more of an apartment not a nursing home. Everybody there seems very happy. They try to get the residents to be involved. Overall it has been a good experience.
