Allerton House in Hingham as well as all the Welch Communities of Senior Living is top-notch and run with caring professionals. At Gallo Moving & Storage, another family run company, we have the pleasure of working with many Senior Living Community's throughout the area with our Senior Living Move Program. Working with everyone at the Allerton house in Hingham as been a truly wonderful experience, Kristen, Devon, and Erin are very caring individuals who work very hard to fully understand and cater to each of their residents needs and Leanne Welch has been a fantastic emissary of all their locations. You can trust in their care and services for yourself or love ones.

Initially uneasy about leaving her home, everyone from reception, maintenance , nurses, aides, residents, visitors, etc were so welcoming that mom immediately settled into the community. She feels cared about, listened to, and invited without force to join the many varied activities. She loves the tranquility, clean and cozy atmosphere, and the genuine joy. As for me, my stress has plummeted in the year that mom has been at Allerton. Mom has vigilant, gentle buffers of care on all sides, so she can feel as independent as possible. The team works diligently to fulfill any needs or even requests to make life easier. They are creative, loving, and are an incredible support to the entire family. I cannot rave enough about this splendid sanctuary. The more I know them, the more I love them and feel incredibly blessed to be a part of their community.

My mother settled in quickly. She feels like she is part of a family and feels at home here. She is much happier than she was sitting at home alone. Every time I visit, the person at the front desk knows right where I can find her. She is constantly praising the staff and the caring environment.

Allerton House in Hingham is amazing! My mother moved in about 6 months ago after losing my Dad and she is extremely happy there. The staff is so caring and knowledgeable-they clearly genuinely love their residents and take the time to get to know them well. Activities and events are crafted so that everyone can participate no matter their situation and there is always something going on. My mother is a very active person and doesn't require any help at this point so we were worried there wouldn't be enough things to keep her moving and engaged, definitely not the case. She has gone into Boston to museums, to the Cape for Lunch, Marshfield for Christmas lights, etc. Even when there is nothing scheduled, I frequently find her downstairs doing a puzzle or reading because it's so pleasant and bright. The location is great-tucked back behind a residential neighborhood but near shopping and the Shipyard. The Allerton bus takes her out at least 3 times a week for shopping, lunch, trips, etc and Mike who drives it is fantastic! Her apartment was just renovated and is beautiful, the whole building is clean and well decorated. I feel extremely comfortable talking to the nurses and the director, Kris, is committed to making Allerton such a special place. She has been extremely helpful in mom's transition and I feel very comfortable discussing any issues/thoughts with her. It has been a difficult year for my family losing my Dad, having mom sell her house, and moving her to a new state, but honestly Allerton has been a gift in making things a little easier for all of us.

My dad was at Allerton House at Harbor Park for 8 years in the Memory Care section. The staff there are caring people that are well trained in this type of care. There is little staff turnover; the environment is great. I would highly, highly recommend AH at Harbor Park to anyone looking for care for their elderly family members. I can't say enough good things about it.

My Mom needed to move into assisted living during 2020, it was not an easy time to be out looking at these homes in the midst of a pandemic. I do remember, feeling very safe going into the Allerton House and touring it, compared to some other facilities. The director and staff were very attentive to my mom’s needs and we decided to move her in that Nov. of 2020. From the day my mom arrived she was made to feel as though this was her new home and she belonged here with the other residents. My Mom never told any of my siblings or I, in the 2 years she was living there that she did not like it or wanted to leave. This past summer my mother’s dementia had increased and we moved her into the Cove which is the memory care side at the Allerton House. The staff and residents there couldn't have been any nicer to her. She thrived in the Cove and we found her to me more engaged in the activities and liked the smaller space she was living in. Also, she had a lot less walking to get to her daily meals and her activities. My mom liked music and singing and we loved that they had music playing at meal time and different entertainers coming in, weekly. She especially loved it when the ball room dancer came in once a month! She couldn't remember what she ate for breakfast, but she could remember how to rip up the rug jitterbugging! Needless to say, we have no complaints or regrets having our mother spend the last few years at the Allerton House. It is very clean, and well maintained, the meals are beautifully presented and are delicious. The staff from directors down, treat all the residents with the utmost respect that they deserve and we would highly recommend it. Of course my siblings and I miss visiting our Mom, but we will also miss seeing the wonderful staff and residents there as well. We have some wonderful memories and had many laughs with everyone along the way.

We met with Christine Lappas in marketing , a certified dementia specialist, to discuss care options at Allerton House for a family member with dementia. She gave a great overview of both the Assisted Living and the Memory Care programs. She listened to our concerns and gave us a good idea of what might be our best course of action going forward. She was kind, knowledgeable and thorough in our conversation, gave us a great tour of this friendly, inviting and up to date facility. The staff we encountered took time to introduce themselves and talk about their programs. It was a great first impression!

I had the responsibility of finding an assisted living facility for a dear old friend who lived in her Hingham home for 50 plus years. My first experience with the Allerton House was meeting the Marketing Director Carol Taylor who was extremely helpful from the start. When Gloria moved in the entire staff was extremely kind and attentive to her every need. All of the residents were welcoming. Her apartment was the perfect size and always well maintained. The entire facility is impeccable with plenty of activities. Over a 3 year period she needed more care. The nurses, aides, kitchen staff, maintenance and reception staff were amazing. They all knew her by name and provided tremendous care. The Executive Director Tom Karnes was always accessible and provided valuable guidance when it was needed. The nursing staff there is unparalleled. Pat B. was so helpful offering guidance for Gloria's care. She is extremely professional and knowledgeable in her field. The weekend nurses also provided great care and were always available to answer questions or offer help on the weekends. I will never be able to say enough about nurse Sarah K. You will not find a kinder person completely dedicated to her work and the residents at Allerton House. If you choose Allerton House for a loved one, rest assured, they will be well cared for in a place they will call home. Sincere thanks to the entire staff for your kindness and taking such good care of Gloria.

My Mom, Helen Barber, spent some of her last years between the Allerton House and Medical Rehab closeby in Scituate! The Allerton House took very good care of her while there; she passed away on March 22, 2012, and today she would have been 101 Years young! May she RIP along with many other Allerton Residents! Gold bless the Staff who cared for her!

Ruth Cunningham has lived in Hingham for close to 50 years, most recently in her beautiful and inviting assisted living apartment-home at Allerton House at Harbor Park. Although she notes that there is nothing like living where you have raised a family and created happy memories, she also acknowledges that the business of running a home can become challenging. She sold her home and bought a condominium, which lessened some of the burdens of home ownership, but did not quite meet all of her needs. She says, When I first came to Allerton House, I decided after a few months that I wanted to try living on my own one more time. There are a lot of reasons why I decided to come back to stay. Those reasons include the conveniences of enjoying delicious, home-cooked meals every day without having to do the cooking; a readily available washer/dryer, and even a laundry service, when she previously had to navigate the basement steps on laundry day; the opportunity to participate in any number of on-site activities; and the just as appealing option of spending quiet time on her own or in the company of other residents. Ruth says, I walk two times a day with my walking buddy, Evelyn. I also enjoy sitting on the porch with the other residents and just watching the clouds go by. Ruth has one son, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She says, My son lives in Las Vegas. It is wonderful visiting with them, but I did not want to move out there. My friends are here. In fact, Ruth says everyone at Allerton House is friendly, that there is always someone there for her, and that she never needs for a thing. She especially enjoys the trips that are available to Allerton House residents, which have included a trip to the Cape Cod Canal and to Isaacs Restaurant on the historic Plymouth waterfront. She says, Any time the bus goes, I am on it!

Its a wonderful place. The residents are so fun and welcoming. The staff are great. I am so blessed to be able to go there every day and take care of some of the residents. The activities offered are both fun and educational. You can be busy and involved as you want to be. The physical layout is great, there are spaces were you can sit and just socialize with all your friends.
