I have a friend who stays at this facility. Generally the staff is friendly and polite, but today I have called at 10.00am said my friend who only has TV needs help and I can work thru the technical problem ,but I need someone in the room. I have called several times explained the urgent need and spoke with a manager that told me about the schedule of the employee. It's now almost 100 and no call. To me this is unfair and not empathetic. I will let the reader decide

Mom has been at Aspenwood since October 2021. There are many things to like about Aspenwood. People are caring. Residents are vibrant and fun. There is always a game of 21 going on. But the best thing... The dining room. The food is amazing. Chef Peter and the staff are kind and compassionate. But the food... again... is amazing. My favorite.. the stuffed Chicken Kiev... Fresh and tasty. And it is really nice being able to have lunch or dinner with mom and really enjoy the food. As a family, we had Thanksgiving dinner there and it was as good as homemade, and no dishes. They have a spring luncheon coming up on April 4 - including freshly roasted lamb chops. And a secret - you do not have to be a resident or family member. You have to pay for your supper, but it's a great alternative to impersonal restaurants. And if you have young kids, a chance for them to interact with seniors! Call them for details - And no, I do not work for Aspenwood. I truly enjoy their dining room - everyone is friendly, the residents are active, speaking with each other, laughing. It's a nice reprieve from the world these days. And a nice way to spend time with my mom.

My dad did not want to leave his home for independent living. We were all hesitant to move him but thrilled once he moved in to Aspenwood. His regular visits by friendly staff and nurses who all greeted him enthusiastically by name made his day. The ability to invite friends, children, grandchildren (and their dogs) into his own space with his own furniture made it a great place for him to host. The food was great. Friends and family quickly learned to have all family meetings at Aspenwood over lunch. This is a neighborhood-caring, welcoming, and friendly. I’m so glad that he had this great attention in this delightful place when friends and family could no longer take care of his medical needs. I’ll miss Aspenwood as I miss my Dad.

Aspenwood Senior Living Community has been a lifesaver and offers peace of mind regarding care of my mother in law. Mom is 90 and moved to Aspenwood December 2021. The staff is attentive, friendly, and helpful. The facility is clean and welcoming. The community has Margarita Monday happy hours, BINGO, a variety of exercise classes, arts & craft activities and movie night each night. Mom enjoys the activities, the food is good and the other residents are nice. I highly recommend this community for your senior.

My father lived in Aspenwood for 8 months up until his death. I visited often. I am observant and picky about cleanliness and service. Aspenwood more than met my expectations. The food there is excellent. The entire staff was available at any time for any concern. We had a few minor issues and once a request was put in for work to be done it was within 24-48 hours. My father made the adjustment to his new living situation quickly. He was in the Independent living section. I have recommended Aspenwood to many people over the course of the time Dad was there. I will continue to do so.

After searching for a facility for my mother-in-law, my husband and I chose Aspenwood because the overall atmosphere at Aspenwood is different from the other facilities I visited. Everyone I met at Aspenwood appeared to be friendly, warm, and happy! Staff and residents alike. We also liked the fact that my mother-in-law could be in Independent Living but have al a carte additional support that she needed. It is a nice bridge between living alone and Assisted Living. I could not be more satisfied with our decision. When my mother-in-law moved in, she quickly made friends, and became absorbed in card playing and afternoon social functions. Her experience at Aspenwood, including the food, far exceeded our expectations. The Executive Director is very respectful to all staff members and appears to be on a first-name basis with everyone. He has assembled an incredible team! The staff members I met appeared to be fully invested in their jobs and in making the experience for residents as positive as possible. We found the Director of Independent Living to be very knowledgeable and professional, willing to take time to discuss with us all options for the specific needs of my mother-in-law and dedicated to ensuring that the entire family is pleased with the Aspenwood experience

We are extremely pleased and completely satisfied with Aspenwood. We visited a number of communities before we decided on Aspenwood. It stood apart from the rest. Her apartment is lovely and makes her feel safe. Every person on the staff is great. They are very responsive and genuinely care about Mary's well being. That is the most impressive and important thing to her and to us. We are also very happy with the number of activities offered every day. Her favorites are arts and crafts and movement classes. Right now she is at "Yarn Wall Art." This afternoon she will go to "Chair Zumba." We know we made the right decision to pick Aspenwood as her new home.

I like the way Aspenwood staff treat all residents and private aides like me They are very attentive and always respond promptly.The lady that I am working for and her family have been very pleased with Aspenwood. My brother recently moved to Aspenwood during the pandemic. The administrators and staff have gone above and beyond to facilitate his move and make him feel comfortable. I live out of state and was concerned about his transition; this turned out to be a needless worry as Kathy, a member of the administration, kept me up to date on all that transpired. She even emailed me pictures of my brother in his new apartment! I hope to be able to visit him in his new home this summer, and to be able to thank the many people that have helped him feel welcome - and me to breathe easier knowing hes in good hands. They have made a major life change into a welcoming transition. Kudos!

Our parents recently moved into Aspenwood. We have found that the staff (administration, nursing, food prep and service, housekeeping, facilities, etc) went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, cared for, and welcome. They are courteous, attentive to detail, responsive, and compassionate. Residents and their families are treated with respect and dignity. Right now activities are limited due to COVID, but it will be great to have the dining rooms open, and exercise classes, games and social activities up and running again. In the meantime, we are thankful for all the precautions taken during this pandemic to keep everyone healthy and safe. Meals are delicious, varied, and well prepared. The facility is clean and well-maintained. Residents are treated courteously. As a family, we feel confident that our parents are well-cared for and safe. We are very pleased to have found such a wonderful new home for them. Thank you to all who are making this transition to assisted living as smooth and easy as possible. We are grateful!

She is very difficult to deal with – she hasnt been happy since my fathers death, and that unhappiness really shows – but the caregiving staff at Aspenwood has been remarkably patient with her. My husband and I did extensive research to find an independent living facility for my mother-in-law. We are extremely pleased with Aspenwood! The staff is friendly knowledgeable, and they always give 110%, especially the Director PJ. I felt very comfortable with their plans for minimizing the risk of coronavirus for the residents. My Active Senior

We send our clients here often because of the great customer service from the staff especially from the Executive Director. However, my most recent client was so impressed with her tour, she immediately decided to move in and sign a contract. The executive was very gracious, attenuative and personable. The time he gave our client made her feel like she was a family member. As we walked through the tour, the staff followed his lead because clearly leadership starts from the top down. The community was spotless, warm and beautiful. We were very pleased and we will continue to send our clients here.

The covid restrictions on visits has been hard on my 96 year old Dad in independent living, but the staff - PJ and Devin in particular - have helped us stay in touch and delivered needed supplies and messages to him when his hearing aids were lost. Chef Peter did an exquisite job of preparing appetizer plates and we had the most delightful Sangria. He also was so friendly greeting all of us. The staff at Aspenwood and especially PJ were most caring and thoughtful during the difficult time of the lockdown. PJ showed his impressive leadership by living at the facility to be with his people for the first month of the lockdown. When my parents passed, you could tell that all of the staff was truly touched by my parents and cared deeply about them. Offers both independent and assisted living. In our third year here and it is quite possibly the best place to be. There are plenty of activities and events (games, weekly speakers, entertainers, etc.). Looking forward to having those again, but in the meantime the quality of the food and more importantly the attention from the staff is something could not live without. They are awesome!

We selected Aspenwood after looking at several similar facilities near Leisure World. We were impressed with the openness of the leadership and of all the staff with whom we came in contact. On the front porch friendly residents assured us that the food was wonderful. Soon after we settled in the coronavirus struck. Management and loyal staff have taken excellent care of us with great food and safety oriented programs. Were glad to be here, as safe as anywhere in the county.

The Director, PJ has an open door policy with residents, family members, guests and emoyees. Environmental department employees have made sure community is cleaned and disinfected to keep residents and staff safe. Dining offers three delicious meals a day and staff made sure that residents and family members were able to maintain in contact virtually. After visiting and researching several senior communities, our family moved our mother into Aspenwood. She has had a very good experience there over the past three years. There was only one incident that required involvement with the management but that was quickly addressed. The current situation has been stressful to Mom as well as all the residents. The staff has done their best keep all the residents content during this very tough time. Hoping the staff will be able to keep up with the stress of the quarantine and continue giving the residents such good care.

Great! The dining and kitchen staff, activity staff, medical staff and other working staff at Aspenwood is tremendous! If you are looking for a senior living community to be a resident in Montgomery County this is it. This community offers excellent living quarters, restaurant style dining and all kinds of games and activities and many more things to interest seniors. Residents can participate in activities or volunteer to lead activities. I volunteer and lead a Bible Study every Friday night and I am also a resident council officer. Residents are taken to doctor appointments, the grocery store, and on outings. The drivers, Gebru and Ron are friendly, courteous and very accommodating. If you are looking to move into a lovely senior community stop by and visit Aspenwood.

The Lifestyle 360 Holidays around the World activities have been informative and entertaining from the delicious Chef food demonstrations to the crafts to the music programs and holiday parties. Sheila is outstanding with everything she does. She is not only concerned with the resident activities but is always available. She works very hard to have the activities available to different residents. She is definitely an asset to Five Star and she is certainly appreciated by many residents because she is a very caring person. I know I made the right decision when I moved to Aspenwood.

I would like to commend Sheila the activity director for enthusiastically supporting my passion for gardening. She took me to Home Depot and we bought plants for the small courtyard aka "The Residents Garden". Originally all I had was a trowel and a pair of gloves. Now I have a spade, a hose, a hose reel which gives access to water and a gardening seat with wheels. In the meantime Sheila's butterfly bush is attracting Monarch and Tiger Swallowtail butterflies -- Beautiful!
