I initially took a tour of the memory care portion of the facility with Teresa. She was terrific. She was compassionate and very knowledgeable not only about all the facility had to offer but also the various nuances of moving a spouse into memory care. The care staff are wonderful, pleasant and easy to work with. Most of them have a good sense of humor. They are always trying to be helpful. I am comforted knowing that my wife is well cared for in this facility.

I’ve been living here at Atria for four months and I can honestly say this place has saved my life. The staff is friendly and attentive. Everyone has been kind and courteous, and consistently looking to see where they can help. The food program provides fresh and delicious options for every meal. I am so grateful to have access to balanced nutrition every day now and no longer trying to figure out grocery shopping and cooking. The wait staff is so friendly know the residents like family. I also appreciate that the chefs come out to check on the meals and collect feedback. The front desk staff has also treated my guests so kindly. My family and friends feel confident about the care I receive here. I highly recommend Atria Walnut Creek if you are looking for great independent living for yourself or your loved one. The location is also a bonus! It is quiet and peaceful with convenient access to shopping and hospitals.

Atria Walnut Creek has exceeded our expectations regarding senior living. The facility seems to be well maintained and the staff is very friendly. The kitchen presents a varied menu and the servers interact well with the residents.

I went on a tour at the facility and it seems okay. Definitely for individuals that are independent, I wouldn't recommend it for someone looking for assisted living. It's very large and doesn't have that warm feeling that most assisted living have. This is an independent living facility with food included and you can add on more care if needed. If you want assisted living, try Atria Lafayette. As of November 2025 a basic studio apartment was about $4000/month with a community fee the same as the rent. The medication fee was $625-$825 month. Level 1 personal care rates for up to 3.5 hours/week were $855/month (this fee can increase up to level 6 at $5130/month for 21 hours a week for care). The rent has increased from 9%-11% each year for the past three years. When you call/visit make sure you ask about all the fees: Room, Medication, Community Fee, Care Fees, and fee increases per year. Also ask if there are any other fees, they are not always transparent about all the fees you will incur.

Saturday July 19th, Cindy and myself met with Paulina for a quide of the facility and the operations of this beautiful facility. Paulina was very pleasant and her knowledge and presentation of the place was outstanding. Questions were asked and Paulina was able to answer in detail. It is really a shame that there is not more than 5 stars on this review. She defintley deserves to have a higher rating than 5 stars . Thank You Paulina for your time.

I am delighted and relieved that my mother is in such a wonderful and active environment. I recently participated in a harmonica class with mother, and it was totally fun.

I have visited Atria Walnut Creek twice. It is my number one choice for my mother. Paulina Morales, our community sales associate, has excellent customer service and communication skills. She is a tremendous asset to the Atria community. Atria has a homey and welcoming environment. The residents are happy and super friendly. The food served in the dining room is top notch and the apartments are nicely appointed. And best of all, Mom sees herself living here. We are so pleased with our experience. I have struggled to find a senior living community that checks all of the boxes for Mom. Atria Walnut Creek is that community.
December 2023
In October my father fell and broke his hip. We knew that he would need assisted living when he recovered. My brother and I began researching all of the options within 20 miles of my home in Walnut Creek. Dad had some specific requirements. He wanted someplace where he could look out the window of his apartment and see something pretty, not just cement. He wanted a nice place that was attractive on the inside but didn’t want to pay for a bunch of things that he would not use. There is a VERY expensive option in Walnut Creek that might be good for a very active person who was outgoing and wanted to be busy all the time. That was not dad. There were cheaper options, but they felt institutional and lacked warmth. Dad wanted to be able to have the care that he needed now and be able to adjust the level of care as needed. My brother and I determined that Atria met all of dad’s requirements. I worked with Carley to discuss which units were available and pick the right one. Dad wanted a separate bedroom and a view out the window. Carley was great to work with. She was extremely helpful, patient and wasn’t pushy. If things had turned out differently, Daddy would be there right now and we would be visiting. Unfortunately, like so many others, Daddy didn’t survive. I still wanted to write the review because I was very excited about Atria and Carley. I know how stressful doing the research is and hoped that I might help someone else in their search. There is one more thing- if your loved one break’s their hip IMMEDIATELY research hip fractures and delirium. There are several peer reviewed articles and if I had had that information when Daddy broke his hip, he would still be here.

I had only four days to place my brother in memory care in this area. This included two weekend days. The staff at Atria was very helpful, and he moved in on a Sunday. I have visited several times in the last month. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Also, they always seem very knowledgeable about my brother. They have helped make my brother and I feel comfortable about his living situation.

I had the opportunity to stop by yesterday to visit with Kelly the Executive Director. She is wonderful and so is her community. I also had the opportunity to spend some time with two former Residnts from my community in Southern California. They had a lot of great things to say about Atria Walnut Creek. Great place to work or live.

Very accommodating, trust worthy, straight forward. In short very pleased and relieved to have my parents able to obtain their support and supervision probably in the next 3 weeks. All of the set up, refurbishing of their apartment and able to get a few really nice modifications to the basic 1-bedroom plan have made it smooth sailing. Atria Walnut Creek is also familiar with helping seniors connect with various support companies such as "movers" to facilitate moving in.
