My mom lived in Anoka for 60 + years, and chose to live at Vivie when she could no longer live on her own in her own home. For 5 years she enjoyed the benefits of living downtown Anoka at Vivie. Staff and residents at Vivie are just wonderful and I give Vivie a big "thumps up" for all the love and care my mom received. Mom especially loved the October-fest party, so I attached a picture.

I lived 2 years at Walker. This is a for profit facility. There are no nurses on duty after 5pm during the week with no supervision. They are always short staffed and has a 20-80 rule. 20% of the people do 80% of the work. When I first moved in they had regular activities. The activities staff all quit and we were left with bingo twice a week. Seniors complained all the time. They have a very good kitchen and staff and is the bright star of walker. They also charge $3,000 to move in and you do not get this money back and goes in their pockets. It's about money. I payed $1,900 per month for a 400 square ft.room and it was a dump. Old fashion wall heaters which I couldn't regulate and and air conditioner with no air regulator. I received no Healthcare services because I'm a service connected vertran and the V.A. provided that for me. I would recommend to look into non- profit facilities. With today's Healthcare for the elderly without alot of money and great insurance it's hard to find good Healthcare in today's climate. I bought a brand new 3 bedroom home in Elk River and pay the same for my mortgage with other up keep expenses. My neighbors have helped alot become I'm also crippled. In assisted living your neighbors can't really help you. Please research before committing. Good luck.

I've had a family member at Walker Plaza for 6 years (1 year at Cityview, 5 years at Gardens). The facility is clean and well maintained, the nursing staff is responsive, and there are many activities to choose from. I have found the current management to be very good at responding to and addressing issues. No place is perfect and this is an industry with constant workplace shortages, but I've had family members in several assisted living facilities in the area, and Walker is the only one of those that I would recommend.

My Aunt (family member) has been staying at Walker Methodist Plaza for many years. She is very well taken care of. I recently visited her and was so impressed with a care giver by the name of Coreta Zor, who went out of her way to make sure my sweet Aunt was comfortable and well taken care of. I am always SO impressed by the knowledge of the team of experts working at this clean, fun, healthly and lovely facility!! Regards, Laurie Henderson
