My father was in rehab here and it was a horrible experience. The people that work there don’t really care about the residents. My father was supposed to be transported to dialysis two times a week and they messed up not one but two Saturdays in a row not sending him with the lift he needed to get into the chair for dialysis. The dialysis place was only 10 minutes away From Newcastle, so you think they would go back and get what they needed so he could get the medical care that was required. But instead, they let him sit there for hours until they could swing back and bring him back to their facility without having had dialysis. The fact that this happened a second Saturday in a row was completely unacceptable. Not only were we not able to get a baseline for two days a week dialysis, my father needed to step up and be on three times a week dialysis now. Thank goodness, we found a place in Oak Creek that actually cares about its residents. They are personable and treat residents there like people. In addition, the beds are thin and uncomfortable, and my father basically slept in the chair most nights. I would not recommend this place at all.

I recently spent a week at my mother's home at Newcastle Place (IL). As in past visits, Marion, who works at the front desk was pleasant, responsive and informative. She rebooted my mom's television and put in a work order for a new cable box for her second bedroom. We were very appreciative of her immediate response. Rick, in maintenance, was wonderfully efficient at resolving plumbing issues within the apartment. Keith, in Food Services, was attentive to the needs of diners. Additionally, he actively sought feedback regarding the food, the service, and the dining experience. The main dining room food was excellent and served at the perfect temperature. The dining staff worked expediently despite being noticeably understaffed. I look forward to my next visit to Newcastle, a welcoming home where camaraderie is shared throughout the community.

I was invited to dinner by my parents this evening who are residents here. We ate in the Royal Oak dining room. I felt it necessary to write this review because of the wait staff. The problem was their timing. We had been served our salads before the bartender came around and took our drink orders. Our drinks finally arrived as our main course was being served. After finishing my original drink, I was never asked if I'd like another. The saving grace was the food was delicious.

I find New Castle Place to be clean, friendly, and majority of the staff are very helpful and resourceful. In addition, Heather (activities person) is outstanding - extremely friendly and always has a smile on her face, and cares for the patients. The selection and wide variety of food is good! The rooms are bright, cheerful and clean! Lastly, the nurses are very friendly and helpful!

I was recently in the Newcastle Rehab facility after a major orthopedic surgery. The care I received was outstanding. Everyone, including the physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, social service, and other associates, were apt to accommodate my needs. The variety and taste of food was first-rate. I have seen all kinds of hospitals and nursing facilities in my almost 50-year carrier as a surgeon, including 35 years developing trauma surgery in two of Toledo's -Level 1 Trauma Centers. I had a very pleasant stay with a quick recovery facilitated by the care team. The care I received was beyond my expectations. I am pleased to share a little about our family's positive experience with Newcastle Place. Newcastle Place and the entire staff made such a positive impact on our mom's life after our dad passed. The sense of community, all the activities (particularly the pool), the great care, the great food (believe it or not!) all combined to be such a positive thing for our mom as she began to adjust and then even thrive as the months and years went by. The facilities are great and the people even better. We had such a feeling of relief knowing our mom was in such a great, safe caring place.

My mom spent 11 years at Newcastle and it was the perfect place for her to find new friends, hang out with old friends, and live in a place that made her happy and social. In 2003 my wife and I were living at Ville du Park when they started to gain approval from the City of Mequon to build Newcastle Place. So, we were lucky enough to be able to watch the beginnings of Newcastle Place. My wife had health problems and we knew the outcome would not be good and that we would need a place to live very shortly. When Newcastle Place was ready to be occupied, we moved in and lived together in our apartment for a few years and then my wife had to go to Skilled Nursing at the Highlands at Newcastle Place. There she was treated extremely well and competently by staff while at the same time, I was able to be with her for many hours. After her passing in 2007 I was in a place which I found to have so many caring individuals both from very kind staff and very caring neighbors. Since the time my wife passed, which has now been 14 years, I have found my family at Newcastle in a very loving, caring atmosphere. When I had lost my first wife I was living alone in my home, it was unbearable. So, when we found Newcastle Place it was like the difference between night and day. I had found a true family. I have developed close and wonderful friendships and enjoyed many, many hours participating in fun and healthy activities. For the last 17 years, I have had the pleasure of enjoying wonderful meals in a very comfortable dining room and in all that time never had one bad meal. The food is always healthy and delicious. I have been exposed to every part of Newcastle place from the very beginnings, what they provide, how they provide it and I have not had even one serious complaint during all my years here. I would say that for anyone that is looking for a home in their later years, come to Newcastle Place! You’ll never be sorry!

They have made adaptations as compassionate leaders in the field that have been life preserving for my loved ones. My husband and I will be moving into Newcastle Place in Mequon soon. I couldn’t be more excited! Over the past few months we have worked with Julie, Debra, Alicia and Brandon. They have graciously met with our children to explain the social and financial implications, we have attended forums and had lunch with residents. I am always delighted with the friendliness, efficiency, and beauty of Newcastle Place, and always note the warm smiles on both residents and staff. We moved my Aunt here from Florida and Newcastle has been the best place In the world for her. Everything and everybody have made her new life here in Wisconsin so terrific. I also have been extremely impressed with how well they have managed the corona virus... keeping everyone safe, the families informed and the flexibility of how they have adapted to an amazingly difficult situation. I am grateful for NewCastle Place and the comfortable and wonderful life they have given my Aunt.

Newcastle Place is a great neighborhood. I've lived in Mequon for 53 years, had a lovely home my husband and I built, and was leery about giving it up to move to this retirement community ... but I am SO glad I did. It's not just a home. We moved to Newcastle Estates in October 2018 after visiting similar retirement communities in the Milwaukee area. It has been one of the best moves we have ever made. We are doing the same things we were doing in our previous previous home, just from a different address. It is absolutely stress free living--no lawn to mow, no snow shoveling and no home maintenance to worry about. Here at Newcastle, when you call Maintenance, be sure you are ready for them as they will arrive in five to ten maintenance. We worked with Julie Irvine and Debra Hansher and each of them went out of their way to answer all of our questions and be sure we were satisfied. The entire staff is extremely helpful in making the transition to Newcastle as easy as possible. The food is excellent and we have yet to meet a resident that isn't welcoming and friendly. We have only been here two weeks, but the staff has been great, the food has been great and the residents have all been very helpful and great. Our carriage house is lovely and the view behind us is awesome. At this point, we could not be happier.

While it was very difficult to watch my sister in her final days, we were comforted in the fact that their nursing staff was always there for her. Their smiles, laughs, and tender touch gave us all strength to embrace her final precious days. They treated her like family and it truly made a difference. Newcastle is an outstanding care facility!
