Provide excellent care and services
October 2025
I give therapy a 5 star. CNA's a 4 star, except for Destiny, who gets a 5 star. The nurse, [name removed] gets 0 stars. How can you an do admission assessment if you never come in the room to see the patient?? Oh, wait, she did poke her head in to ask if I wore dentures!! Bonnie gets a 3 star, she is very stressed, especially after her med aide gave me another patient's medication. The evening nurses are very good. I'm sorry I don't remember your names. Hailey? Excellent. They actually kept my pain at a tolerable level. I was s/p total hip replacement. Never once saw the administrator, the DON,or any of the 3 ADON'S. Meals were ok. I would not recommend this place, unless you are A&O x 4.

Visited this facility for the first time and was greeted by Silvia at the front desk. She is FANTASTIC! Well dressed and what a multi tasker! She’s also a CNA here and based off of my interaction with her, she has compassion on her patients

They don't answer the phones besides that, it's an okay place

I highly recommend this facility if you are looking for supportive and compassionate care for your loved one.

As I was not a patient in your facility, but my brother was, I am NOT impressed at all. He spent almost a month there and did NOT have a shower in over a week. When he asked for information on some things it seemed as no one really knew much about anything. When he was discharged, he was home for 3 days before a nurse called ME to inform that his night medications were left at the facility. Is there not a discharge list/policy on items at the facility that should go home with the patient? He was NOT impressed much except that the walking therapy was very much needed and the therapists did a good job on helping to gain some strength.

This facility cares about their residents. My loved one came here and was treated kindly. We liked how clean it was. Bonnie was attentive and answered questions. Natalie was very caring and helpful. The therapy team and nurses helped my mom gain her gain her health back..

I am a current resident, but will likely leave within the next month due to the care that GVNC has provided to make me healthy and strong, allowing me to continue my life outside of nursing care. GVNC took me in with loving arms and immediately began working on my health. At the time of admission, I was unable to get out of bed on my own, but then soon learned to use a wheelchair on my own, then a walker, then walking on my own! The staff is better than great. Upon walking in, Debbie will greet you warmly and help you with whatever you might need. And Brent, the Director, is the individual who makes this place feel like a home. I've seen him case-working, changing sheets, pushing clients to bingo, greeting family members, taking out trash, and doing whatever it takes to make this place a better place. And a home. Melinda in the laundry department gets to know each resident and washes/dries personal laundry in record time. She is one of the greatest assets of GVNC. Patricia, Myra, Sonny, Tahityanna, China, Celena, Julie, Myra, Devonte, and Robert make the kitchen rock. In a nursing care facility, one of the things residents look forward to is delicious meals. They definitely do it here - they get to know most of our dietary preferences and prepare our meals to make us feel like individuals. GVNC nurses and nurses' assistants are truly the heart of this place. I am very fortunate to be cared for primarily by Marcy, Kathryn, and Suzy. They schedule appointments, answer calls from family members, dispense medications, and always are willing to listen to me and other residents - whether it's us having a question, having a difficult day, or simply having a silly joke. And Sylvia, Mary, and Patricia show it with every day and every smile that they truly do love the residents and love their jobs. That makes a huge difference. Linda and Angie keep this place fun with activities, outings, decorations, arts & crafts, "Pretty Nails" days, birthday celebrations, and just about anything else that they can do to engage the residents and GVNC fun. As a current resident, I highly recommend this place. This place allows me to feel like a resident, not a patient. They treat us like family here. And I would highly recommend anyone and anyone's family member to stay and be cared for here.

I’d like to extend my true gratitude to 2 special people at this facility who went beyond the call of duty to support my loved one who is staying there. Thanks to Alexis & Mary for their compassion and commitment to the elderly they are charged with caring for. They are especially appreciated.

My mom has been there almost 2 weeks and hasn't seen a doctor. Asked for a water pitcher for 3 days, and still does not have one. After 2 weeks, the nurse couldn't tell us what doctor had been assigned to my mom. She needs to be fed and I advised the nurse but they continue to just drop off the tray on her bedside stand. They continue to bring her foods she has repeatedly asked to be omitted. I was in her room for hours over 3 days and never saw a nurse or aide ( nurses do not pass meds in this facility). Another family member has been trying to meet with the administrator for 3 days to no avail. Met with finance person over 1 1/2 weeks ago about insurance, medicaid etc... and was told they needed to do some research and would get back to us...still waiting. I'm 1300 miles away and very uneasy.

Guadalupe Valley is a good nursing facility with good staff. I have had my aunt there and she was well taken care of . I have also followed other friends, family, and acquaintances to this facility with good results.

We just moved my mom to GVNC last week from The Windsor and I can tell you that I wished I would have made the decision to do it along time ago. She has a smile on her face, she is clean and dry, they make sure her hair and teeth are brushed. She isn't laying in her bed during the day. GVNC doesn't stink and it doesn't feel dirty!! The staff have been very welcoming, upstanding and helpful to my mom!!

Spouse been there for recovery almost two weeks now, the staff has been very professional from medical, maintenance & the kitchen staff.
