My mother has been there for about 3 years, she loves going outside when the weather is good, they have beautiful scenery, walking trails with a pond and flowers, lately there is so much geese poo on the walking trails that it has been almost impossible to not end up with it all over the bottom of your shoes and on her wheelchair. Hosing down the tail every week would probably fix this!

My mom lived the last 18 months of her life at Ohio Living Rockynol, and during that time she lived in all their various care options, except their independent care unit. In every place we met caring and dedicated staff providing services in anclean, comfortable and therapeutic environment. Lastly when she passed I sensed the sorrow in these same people.

My father was a resident in both the assisted living and skilled nursing areas. The care he recieved was extraordinary in every way! He recently passed away, and the entire team was a blessing to our family. I cant say enough good things about Rocknol! They were family to us! Thank you.

Resubmitting my review. Took my first one down to give my parents a chance to move out without adding any drama to their already stressful move. They lived in independent living for approximately 9 years. They had good friends there and good experience with many staff. However, price has steadily increased while quality has decreased. Not thinking they would make another move in their lives they decided to move after the CEO was going to make them spend $4000 to fix carpet in their apartment for an aparrrent bad smell. Once they decided to move the CEO visited their apartment for the first time to discuss them telling residents he kicked them out. They never told anyone that and made it clear to all they decided to move. They also were clear with their unhappiness with this current CEO. I was able to spend time talking with a few other residents there and know they feel similarly. I encourage the CEO to take time to get to know your residents and hear their concerns. This is their home and they deserve your respect and your time. Don't worry about following up with me or my parents, they made their decision and moved out. Follow up with the current residents and hear their frustrations.

I cannot say enough about the outstanding, caring staff and the attentiveness that was provided to both my Mom & Dad in the 4+ years they were at Rockynol Ohio Living in West Akron independent and assisted living. Dad passed in 2017. He loved living at Rockynol and had been reluctant to leave hos condo in Broadview Heights. Moved to Rockynol reluctantly but almost immediately wished he would have moved sooner. It was heartwarming. His health failed that year and he said he had hoped he could have enjoyed Rockynol longer. Mom, talked often of how being at Rockynol after Dad’s passing was such a gift. She loved the people, outings, bookclub, bible group and everything that was offered! When her health failed in the Spring of 2021, the Independent and Assisted living staff went above and beyond moving her from Independent living with our family to assisted living. Assisting with getting her into my car for multiple weekly Drs appointments and treatments. Making sure all needs were met

In life you hear so much from others about nursing homes for their loved ones.. Now I am that "others". I am very hard to please only because I like SIMPLICITY and the world isn't like that. Our family ordeal began Dec 11 my.93 yr.old granny had massive stroke, ffwd to now she was recently moved to rockynol, being raised by granny and growing up less than 5 miles from the place I have driven past it a ton of times having never entering..I have to admit i already had bad pre conceived notions, so upon my arrival I prepared my nose and eyes for alot I have heard, ONLY TO BE BLOWN AWAY, THE STAFF, THE SMELL, THE CLEANLINESS IS FIRST CLASS..OMG the people here truly love what they do and their caring for patients IS GENUINE AND NOT JUST A PAYCHECK, I feel so much better now and couldn't wait to get home to write a review. I LOVE BEING BLOWN AWAY BY SIMPLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ROCKYNOL ROCKS, their rehab room was nice and FIRST CLASS, granny only been there about 3 days and her speech is the best its been since Dec 11. People employed here DO THEIR JOBS omg I cannot stop thinking about this place, nice furniture, they provide clothes, they have granny up moving. Personable, comfortable, very clean rooms...THANKS ROCKYNOL....

My family member has been here about 10 months in assisted living and it has been a wonderful experience. The staff, aides and nurses are so friendly and the service has been top notch. The facility is new and beautiful and the food service is excellent with many options at each meal period. It is the perfect environment that has allowed for greater social interaction and friendships to be formed. They have many activities and a weekly cocktail party for the residents with monthly outings to either a restaurants. I think a family has to do months of research in picking what place is the best for their family member and base their decision on many factors for it to work out best.

Anyone considering a nursing home placement: use all the tools available to help you make an informed decision. As a mental health social work professional for 30 years, I've seen everything you might imagine. You have to do your homework and use anecdotal reports- like mine!- as a starting place only. We have been nothing but happy w my mother-in-law's placement here. A lot of people do not understand what nursing homes can and can't do, should and shouldn't do. Be cautious about any sweeping generalization based on one incident, one staff member, one shift, one encounter, etc. My conclusion: the more you research options, visit, read the Medicare/Medicaid reviews, talk to staff and stay involved once your loved on it placed, the greater likelihood of having a positive experience.

My mother moved from another local retirement community to Rockynol Assisted Living seven moths ago. We are more than pleased with the staff, environment, food and activities. Highly recommended!

My Dad was placed here for the last 3 weeks of his life. He was on hospice and on a lot of pain meds to ease the pain of his cancer. A lot of the nursing staff did not seem to understand his needs with medicine. They would take 30 minutes to an hour to answer him pushing his button. Sometimes not come at all. He fell in the bathroom and pulled the cord. No one came. When our hospice worker ordered more pain meds to keep him comfortable some of the nurses didn't understand and didn't want to give it to him. His last couple days the nurses would cop an attitude about giving him more. They said he's sleeping how do you know he needs medicine. If they had stayed in the room for a few minutes they could easily see he was not sleep. He knew what was going on all around him but could not talk. We would talk through eye brow raises and hand squeezes. This situation was hard enough and then to have the nurses treat you and their patient this way is not ok. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We did file a complaint with the health department and let's just say they had multiple complaints with the same issues. We did find out they were understaffed. Shame on them! There were a few nurses, God Bless them, that were amazing! But the bad ones outweigh the good ones.

My elderly mother was discharge to Rockynol after an inpatient admission. At the time of admission Rockynol wanted $100,000 cash to accept her despite excellent health care insurance as a postal worker and a large amount of savings. We worked this and they became reasonable. She died 2 weeks later. After several months of no contact I called about the final bill. There was a $2000 refund that they owed her estate. Now 2 months later at the time that the estate is due I have not received the money despite many promises. I now have to resort to legal intervention.

I took earlywretirement. Went another 20yeArs together with a lot more than just the new York city. Looking forward to heap five days . From my build up could use some help with a look that will fill in a small town girl who was enjoying retirement age to heap the first time in my life. I have never been in the world of pure imagination, but I need to heap five days. I have fun at all those other locations. Heap was cocooned and looking to outbound with one spot to return.
