My father was recently sent to Windward Gardens from Maine Medical Center in Portland for rehab after suffering a stroke. He was barely there 1 week when he fell and hit his head so hard that he had to go back to the hospital for emergency brain surgery. He never woke up from that. He was a strong and extremely active person for his age. He was making fantastic progress and working hard to be able to go home. Why was he not being monitored with a bed alarm? He was already up and cleaning himself off when a CNA came to check on him. I believe my dad would still be with us had he not been sent to this facility. I am only rating it a 2 because he said the people were nice and the food was good.

Rebekah, who works in the memory care unit, took the time to paint mom's nails today. It's not lost on me how busy the staff is, but for her to take the time with this small gesture of kindness made my mom's day! Thank you Rebekah!

My mother is staying there for some rehab. After leaving maine med for over a month, and I am pleased to say she is as comfortable as she can be with the staff being super friendly and caring, and putting a smile on her face after all she has been through. I appreciate all that they have done, and still are doing for her.

My mother spent time at Windward Gardens as a rehabilitation patient following a hip replacement surgery. From the moment she arrived to the moment she left, the staff at Windward Gardens were kind, compassionate, and most importantly, they were all professional in assisting my Mother through her recovery. The quality of services, including RN, CNA, support staff, OT and PT was such that my mother has been able to make a speedy recovery, and is back at home, and back to a normal life. We are extremely grateful for the entire staff at Windward Gardens.

I would like to Thank Windward Gardens Camden, Maine, for the most wonderful care of my Mother during her stay there from 2012 until her passing 2021. They were like a second Family to me, I always felt welcome and any questions I had, I always got answers. I will always be grateful to the Nurses and Staff for the TLC my Mother received. The pictures below were taken during her Stay at WG. See how fun they make it for the Residents, Mom was in Assisted Living-standing beside Santa and she was proud to hold a Trophy that she won guessing what Football Teams will win. With her declining health and increasing dementia she then moved to Spring Gardens long term; For her Birthday Activities set up a room for me to visit with her she loved her flowers and gifts. The most recent was her Hospice care they give there during their time of fail my mother was in bed; she was always clean, comfortable and safe. The Nurses always made sure she had her doll and other things at her bedside, she was always clean and her room as well; it sure is a wonderful place with amazing staff and I will be forever grateful.

Our mother is a resident at Windward Gardens- we are 100% delighted by the administrations attention to the care of our mother. From the Director Jessica Porter to the staff who daily comforts and cares for her, we are grateful, especially in the time of the the COVID-19 pandemic. Communication has been superb- 3x a week family and friends of a resident have been able to join a ZOOM meeting with Ms. Porter ---she avails herself to caregivers and family members with concerns or thoughts and that is a tremendously welcome opportunity. We have had weekly ZOOM meetings over the last year with our mother provided by Amanda, a staff nurse. She also made a collection of music from my mothers era to listen to...so kind and thoughtful. Sadly, we live in NY and visits or travel has not been possible for the past year due to restrictions implemented for the safety and well being of all people- residents and family and friends. Our mother is in the best care and we highly recommend Windward Gardens for your loved one when the time comes for extra healthcare.

Jessica and Brandi are impossible to work for. The have bullied me to the breaking point. They need to go asap. I hope the state comes back in. It once was a good place to work at. Fire them before it gets worse.

First of all, if I could give this wonderful place higher Star ratings I would. My Mother Doris Dyer has been a Patient at Windward Gardens for the past Six Years. She started out in the Skilled Unit because she was discharged to WG from the Medical Center do to Strokes. My family and I felt blessed She was able to get her Nursing Skilled Care there; because we knew first hand all about Windward Gardens as my Father too, was on Skilled for Long-Term Care. My Father had all Positive experiences with the Nurses and Staff there. We were extremely pleased with his care and knew Mom was in excellent hands as well. After skilled Care, she was able to stay at Windward Gardens and moved into another amazing area called the Assisted Living which is located in the upstairs of the Building. About a year later 2014, my Dad passed away do to his declining health he was 93. WG let my Mother stay with my Father the night he was passing; they were like our Angels and gave us tremendous care and support during such a trying time. The Nurses and Staff both upper and lower areas of the Building were there for My Mom, My Family and I. At Present, Mom is on the Skilled side do to her declining health. From the time my late Father was admitted at Windward Gardens in 2011, and my mothers Admittance in 2012; WG has been like a second home for my family and I. I want to say that every aspect of Windward Gardens is filled with people who are there for you...and I mean from top to bottom no matter who the Employee is, they will help you out in a wink of an eye to get your question and needs met. I dont live to far from Windward G. and I am there most everyday and at anytime. NOT once have I ever witnessed the building being dirty, or Nurses and Staff acting inappropriately. What my family and I have experience and witnessed is an Amazing Place with Unique, Professional, loving and caring people. If my Husband and I ever need Assisted Living or Long Term care they already now the place we have chosen Windward Gardens.

Ive been with Genesis Healthcare for about 3 1-2 years now. Six months ago I was given the opportunity to transfer to Windward Gardens as the Human Resources Manager. Since day one, I was welcomed as part of the team into a family-like atmosphere.I can truly say that all employees from management to nursing, dietary to housekeeping, genuinely care for the residents and patients that reside in our building.Whether youre a family member looking for a home for your loved one, on the mend from an injury looking for rehabilitation or a health care worker looking for a new place of employment, I would absolutely recommend Windward Gardens.
